Let’s to the disclaimer dance! *ripped this off Kitsane’s quote*
Standard disclaimers applied to this fic! By now, I’m sure everyone
knows who created these creatures right? So, I’ll let it be… Doumo,
Togashi-sama… ^_^ Another one, Siew Lee-chan… don’t sue me. We both know
that I’m broke now ^_^. Can I lend Sayuri for about 10 minutes?

Yaoi? Yup…

                         Sayuri’s First Day In School

Sayuri looked to her left, then to her right. It seems like
everyone was eyeing her. She was so nervous. The girl who sat next to
her had her mother and father watching her from the door. She was so
scared.

Another boy had his father sat next to him. He didn’t want to be
left alone in the class with all these strangers, so his father had to
stay with him before he cried his lungs out.

She looked at herself. Neither of her fathers were here. Kurama-
tousan had sent her just now and had went back.

The teacher looked through another record profile. Then she
blinked. The part where a mother should fill up was being crossed and
was replaced by ‘father’. She looked again. Yes, definitely a male’s
particulars. The part where fathers should fill was already filled too.
Also a definite male’s particular. And both particulars were different.

She turned to look at the cover for the name. Sayuri Minamino.

"Sayuri Minamino?" called the teacher. Sayuri looked around and
stood up. "Hai, sensei?" she replied. Everyone was quiet. It seems like
there was something wrong with her profile records. First day of school
and she’s already been stamped ‘troubled’.

"You don’t have a mother?" asked the teacher. Everyone gave her a
sympathetic look. Sayuri nodded.

"Your father is Minamino Shuuichi, isn’t it?" asked the teacher.
Sayuri nodded. "And who is Minamino Hiei?" the teacher asked again.
Sayuri blinked. "He’s also my father," she answered. Noises were heard.
"Sumimasen, can you all keep your voices down?" she turned to look at
Sayuri. "You mean, your god-father?" asked the teacher, she got up from
her seat. She went to Sayuri, carrying the record with her.

Sayuri shook her head. "He’s my father, not my god-father," she
answered innocently. "So, they’re married?" the teacher asked in a
whisper. Sayuri nodded. The teacher sighed. "Anyway, you didn’t bring
your immunisation certificate," she smiled and ruffled Sayuri’s red
hair. Sayuri nodded. "I’ll tell tousan and get it for you tomorrow," she
said. The teacher nodded and walked to the front.

 	She’s such a sweet girl.

Everyone else’s parents were here, but not hers. She wished she
could see any of them. Just in case anything happened, it’ll be easier
if she know how they look like.

Kurama came back and put the car keys on the kitchen counter next
to Hiei who was eating ice-cream in the early morning. He had his gaze
on the horizon, almost as if concentrating on something with his back
towards Kurama.

"Itoshii…," Kurama wrapped his arms around the koorime’s middle
and landed his head in between Hiei's shoulders. Breathing in the salty
scent of Hiei's bare skin.

"Home already?" asked Hiei, stuffing a spoonful of ice-cream into
his mouth. He took another scoop and offered it to Kurama. Kurama shook
his head. "It’s too early," he straightened up and walked to the fridge.
He took out a bottle of milk and filled it into a tall glass.

Taking a sip on his milk, he eyed the pretty koorime. "Took your
bath already?" he inquired the fire demon. Even though he knew that Hiei
hadn’t wash up yet, it’s just fun to ask him the question.

"Iya," he pushed the finished bowl of ice-cream into the sink
nearby.

Kurama went over and scooped the fire demon up. "What are you
doing? Let me down!" gritted the fire demon.

"You’ll have your bath before those dead skin cells turn into
dirt," mumbled Kurama.

 	Two hours later…

Hiei stared at a weird piece of paper on Kurama’s desk. "What is
this?" he asked. Kurama tied his robe sash and walked nearer to Hiei, a
piece of weird paper. He frowned to get a better look at it.

"Inari-sama!" Kurama exclaimed. "What is it?" Hiei repeated his
question.

"Sayuri! I forgot to put Sayuri’s immunisation certificate in her
record files! She’s going to be in trouble," exclaimed Kurama, holding
the piece of paper. "Immuni… what?" Hiei arched his brows. "Immunisation
certificate! It’s the certificate which states what injection shots and
other immunisations you have!! Shimatta!!" Kurama paced around, panic.

Kurama threw away his robe and slipped on a pair of trousers and a
checked shirt. He pulled Hiei with him and grabbed the car keys from the
kitchen counter, he jumped into his convertible and started the ignition.
Hiei sighed. "Do you really have to drag me along?" he mumbled before Kurama
sped ahead.

 	                    	*********

The recess bell rang. Everyone’s parents seem to appear and took
the little students to the cafeteria for some light snack to eat. Sayuri
sighed, she opened her ‘Hello Kitty’ purse and found a few coins in it.
Kurama-tousan gave her only 500 yen just now, but Hiei-tousan slipped in
a few more coins after that.

The thought of that made her smile.

She made her way to the cafeteria. There were senior kids who’s
running along the corridors and she wanted to ask where’s the cafeteria.
But no one seemed to have time for her.

Suddenly there was a tap on her shoulder. Sayuri turned around and
immediately bowed at the sight of her teacher. "Sensei," she uttered.
Her teacher smiled and crouched. "What are you doing standing alone
here?" she asked. "I don’t know where’s the cafeteria," she answered.

"Oh, I’ll take you there. Come on," Sayuri followed her teacher
down the stairs.

Kurama turned in sharply and parked his car under a shady tree. He
took the certificate and waited for Hiei to come.

Hiei blinked a few times to make sure he’s alive. Fast, he can
take it. Rather he’s used to it. But nearly ramming everything at every
cornering isn’t his most delightful feeling. He waited a few seconds to
focus his bearings.

Kurama held Hiei's hand and walked to the building. They turned a
corner to the right. "Isn’t that Sayuri?" asked Hiei, pointing at Sayuri
who was about 10 feet away. Kurama nodded. "Sayuri! Sayuri-chan!" Kurama
called. Sayuri turned and saw her fathers. "Touchan!" she exclaimed and
ran towards them.

Kurama carried her up and nuzzled her cheeks. "How’s your first
day at school?" he asked. "It’s nice, Kurama-touchan," answered Sayuri.
Then Kurama put her down. Sayuri pulled both Hiei and Kurama towards her
teacher.

"Touchan, this is my sensei. Hashiyama-sensei," she introduced her
teacher to them. "Sensei, this is my fathers," she told her. Hashiyama
nodded and shook Kurama’s hand. "Watashi wa Minamino, Hajimemashite," he
introduced himself. Hashiyama nodded. "Douzo Yoroshiku,"

Hiei handed her a piece of paper. "Sayuri’s immunisation
certificate," he uttered. Hashiyama nodded and smiled. "Doumo," :… My
god, they’re so damn cute …: she thought.

"So, how’s Sayuri doing?" asked Kurama, starting to have some
conversation with Hashiyama about Sayuri. "Touchan, I’m hungry," Sayuri
tugged on Hiei's shirt. Hiei blinked. "What do you want to eat?" Hiei
asked. "Let’s go to the cafeteria!" suggested the little girl. Hiei
shrugged. "I don’t know where is it," he uttered.

Kurama chuckled. "Well, she’s like that… but when she gets to know
all of them, she’ll be very friendly," explained Kurama. Hiei touched
Kurama’s hand. Kurama smiled at him. "Nani?" he inquired the fire demon.
"Sayuri’s hungry. I’m taking her to the cafeteria," Hiei told Kurama and
walked off with Sayuri. Anyway, he didn’t like the view of his fox
talking to another woman too much.

Kurama blinked at Hiei, then he turned to smile at Hashiyama.
"Would you want to go there also?" he asked the smiling teacher. Kurama
took a seat and scanned the busy cafeteria. Parents, students and
teachers were all crowding the place, so it was impossible to find Hiei
and Sayuri in this crowd.

Hashiyama was stunned by the charming ways of Sayuri’s father.
It’s a lost that he decides to take Hiei-san as his partner. But then,
where did Sayuri come from?

Before she could think of it, she was blurting her thoughts out.
"Em… excuse me for saying this but… How did you get Sayuri if you are… I
mean…," Kurama chuckled. "I’m gay?" Hashiyama gulped, but then smiled.
"Well, Sayuri’s mum and I did a big mistake six years ago. I mean, we
were you know… But she died just after Sayuri’s birth," Kurama
explained, twisting the truth a bit.

Hashiyama thought she’d ask too many questions, so she decided to
shut up. "Touchan!" exclaimed a sweet voice. Sayuri was carrying a lot
of food in her hands. Kurama looked at Hiei, his hands were empty.
Kurama sighed. "Hiei!" Kurama exclaimed. "Why didn’t you help her?"
Kurama helped Sayuri to put the food on the table. "Daijobu, Kurama-
touchan. Hiei-touchan wanted to, but I said no," said Sayuri and climbed
on Kurama’s lap. Kurama winced. He hoped Sayuri’s teacher won’t be
curious about the way how Sayuri addressed him. Kurama instead of
Shuuichi.

Hiei gave Kurama a ‘hear-that?’ look. Kurama smiled and sat more
to the left so Hiei could seat next to him. "This is yours, sensei,"
said Sayuri, pushing a plate of sushi in front of her teacher. Hashiyama
smiled. "Doumo," she thanked her.

  	Three days passed…

Sayuri stepped out of the red convertible as her father dropped
her in front of the school gate.

"Kaasan, look. That girl’s father is a gay," Sayuri could hear
someone said. She turned around and look. A boy and his mother gave her
a ‘look’. She bit her lips.

Kurama was still there. She ran towards him and jumped in the car.
She wrapped her arms around Kurama and sobbed. "What happened?" asked
Kurama, patting her soothingly. Sayuri pointed at a spot where a woman
and a boy were standing. "Ano… that boy was… he was…" the rest were
muffled by sobs. Kurama sighed. He had a rough idea what it might be.
Hiei gave Kurama a ‘I’ll-kill-the-boy-if-you-want’ look.

Kurama shook his head. Hiei rolled his eyes. "She’s also my kid!"
Hiei got out of the car and made his way towards the duo.

Hiei tried to keep his temper in check. He wouldn’t normally jump
into other people’s problem. But this was different. This was his
daughter’s problem.

"I’m sorry you have to meet me this way," he uttered. The woman
was surprised. Such a small and lithe body with a very inappropriate low
voice. Definitely a grownup. "But I don’t like my daughter to be made
fun of. And if she ever comes back crying again… I’m sure if I don’t rip
your head off, her other ‘father’ would," Hiei ended, pointing at Kurama
who’s still busy soothing the poor child.

The two look at Hiei with fear. Then, Hiei softened his features.
Realising that this would probably ruin Sayuri’s reputation. "Anyway, it
would be nice if you could be friends with her. She’s a very nice kid,"
Hiei smiled. :… I hate myself …: he thought bitterly. He couldn’t
believe himself. He can’t possibly be doing this for the sake of Sayuri?

 	Yes, he was…

"If you don’t mind… can you help me coax Sayuri to go to school? I
hope you won’t mind walking her to class," Hiei gave the boy a sincere
smile. :… I’m doing this? I am really nuts! …:

The boy suddenly felt like Sayuri’s father wasn’t exactly bad at
all. He was just being protective. And Sayuri was kind of cute. He
nodded. "Doumo," Hiei did something odd. He bowed.

Kurama was crossing his fingers hoping that Hiei won’t do as he
would normally do.

The boy followed Hiei to the red convertible. "Emm… what’s your
name?" asked Hiei. "Shuuichi," answered the boy. "Another Shuuichi?"
echoed Hiei. The boy blinked in confusion. "Em… well, you see… Sayuri’s
father’s name is Shuuichi. And her father’s brother’s name is also
Shuuichi," Hiei told the boy and opened the door. Sayuri was still
clinging to Kurama, with that loving fox rubbing soothing circles on her
back.

"Sa-chan… Shuuichi-kun here is walking you to class," Hiei told
both Kurama and Sayuri. She stopped sniffing but still, she was still
clinging to her father.

"Shuuichi?" echoed Kurama. Hiei gave Kurama a ‘I’ll-tell-you-
later-look’.

"Hi, Sayuri. My name’s Shuuichi," Shuuichi introduced himself.
Still Sayuri didn’t turn. She had the stubbornness of Hiei. "Come on,
Sayuri-chan. We are going to learn maths today!" Shuuichi tried to coax
the little girl. Sayuri raised her head, she turned and looked at the
boy who said his name was Shuuichi.

"Let’s walk to class together. Or we’ll be late," he smiled.
Sayuri looked at Hiei. He too, gave her a smile. Then he turned and look
at Kurama, he gave her a peck on the cheek. "Go on," he pulled her away
gently.

Sayuri sighed and stepped out of the car. She gave Hiei a kiss and
stood in front of Shuuichi. "I’m Sayuri," she started. "I know… now
let’s go," he smiled at her. Sayuri nodded. "Yoshi."

Kurama drove home in silence. Once a while, he’ll give Hiei a
secret glance. Hiei would be lost in thoughts. Kurama sighed and smiled.

When they reached the house, they slumped on the sofa. "What was
that all about? Thought you were going to burn them to chars?" Kurama
teased, brushing Hiei's hair with his fingers. "Oh, shut up," Hiei
groaned. "I’m not going to shut up… and you’re not going to also,"
Kurama grinned and got on top of Hiei, taking off Hiei's top and threw
it on the coffee table. Shiori was at work, so they wouldn’t have to
worry.

"Is it? And why is that?" Hiei licked Kurama’s lips and lunged
further to kiss him. Kurama chuckled and threw his own shirt to the same
direction. "Because…"

"Shuuichi? Are you home? I forgot I had a day off today!"
exclaimed Shiori as she came out of the kitchen. Kurama and Hiei looked
at the kitchen entrance.

 	"O’oh…"

Owari… ^_^

Got this finished in three hours time. I forgot, I mean I didn’t even
had the guts to ask Siew Lee’s permission to use Sayuri’s name. Hope she
doesn’t mind. If you really do, please do tell me okay?

Specially dedicated to Siew Lee, for what? To appreciate her long epic
saga, ‘The Past, Present and Future’. And for all that she’d done for
me. Thank you so very much!
