Living in a Tangled Skein

Epilogue

“Get up Hiei…” Kurama’s voice could be heard… but it was distant. Maybe it was a dream… let it be…

“GET UP HIEI!” Kurama threw away the pillow covering Hiei’s head and shouted. Hiei winced and scratched the back of his head. “Nani yatten no?” Hiei mumbled. Kurama crossed his arms and looked at Hiei. “We promised them to be there by 8. Now it’s already 7.45!” Kurama bit his lips. Getting the koorime TO bed was easy but getting him OFF…

The Jaganshi mumbled something blur under his breath and pushed away the pristine white sheets tangled around his limbs. He straightened himself and did some light stretching before walking over to the bathroom.

Kurama secretly marveled Hiei’s lithe yet muscular build but hid it behind his serious face. Or they won’t be able to make it for the game.

It was a short moment after that that Hiei came out all fresh from the bathroom. “Hiei, you smell like a fruit punch,” Kurama commented as he dried the han-koorime’s hair. Hiei smiled. “Well thanks to that NEW soap of yours,” Hiei grinned under the harsh rubbing. “Hiei, that’s shower gel. And you really don’t need to use the whole bottle you know?” Kurama teased.

“Well, I decided to feel fresh and appealing to my surroundings,” Hiei grinned, teasing Kurama back. “You sure you’re not trying to lure other beings than a mere thousand year old fox?” Kurama asked. “Well it depends,” Hiei hid a laughter.

Kurama pouted and put the towel aside as he handed Hiei some ‘proper’ clothes for the match. A sleeveless and a pair of jeans complete with the headband with the word
“Hisshou” on it.

KY’s note : You know the cloth that Japanese people (normally boys) usually wear on their forehead to games, or to encourage one’s spirit to do some extraordinary work. “Hisshou” means “Sure Victory”.

Hiei blinked. “I really have to wear this?” Hiei uttered softly looking up to the redhead who was tying the same thing around his own forehead. “What is it, Hiei?” Kurama asked; rearranging his fringe, which resulted around only 20% of the band visible. Hiei shook his head and tied the cloth around his forehead.

Kurama glanced at his watch and smiled. “We better move now,” he smiled and took Hiei’s hand into his own and pulled him out of the bedroom. With a last glance on the welcoming soft bed, Hiei walked out.

“Kurama! Hiei! Here!” Yuusuke and the others were waving at them. “Sorry we’re late!” Kurama apologized. “Well it’s okay, you’re just in time. They’re going to start the match now!” Keiko grinned.

Both Kurama and Hiei took a seat and Kuwabara handed the shrimp a bag of potato chips. “Bet you haven’t had breakfast,” the big orange hair guy smiled. Hiei nodded and took the bag. “Good for you,” he uttered and opened the bag, starting to stuff the chips into his own mouth.

“Want some?” Hiei offered the one on his right. “Okie,” Kurama took a few pieces and clapped as the next team walked into the court.

Thanks to the ‘intensive’ training they had at Genkai’s Temple, the girl’s Basketball group of Sarayashiki High had won the third place. Not bad for starter since they can’t even run properly at the beginning.

Owarimashita…!

Hiei : So, That’s it?
Koorime Yukina : Yup, that’s it!
Hiei : *Laughs his ass off* you call that a story? What’s the moral of it?
Koorime Yukina : Hiei, that’s a fanfic. Not a story. And fanfics don’t need morals.
Hiei : *Not satisfied*
Koorime Yukina : Hmm…*sigh* well, if you insist. The moral of the story is. *looks at her watch* It’s tea time! Kurama made some purins so we can all have it!
Hiei : Honto? *disappears to the kitchen*
Koorime Yukina : So that’s about it. C&C are welcomed. Haha…
