Here are the results of the WWF's Over The Edge. I thought it was a very sub-par PPV, as the WWF has been on a roll for the last two PPV showings.

Live from Milwaukee, Wisconsin
• LOD 2000 w/Sunny and Puke defeated Skull and 8-Ball w/Chainz via Pinfall.
-After the Disciples of Apocalypse did a switch-a-roo, Puke saw what was going on and
clotheslined 8-Ball from the outside. LOD 2000 took advantage and made a pin to earn the
number one contenders spot for the WWF Tag Team Titles. The match was pretty slow, but Animal
showed that he could still pull off a decent match, but Hawk was terrible as usual.
• Stone Cold Steve Austin discussed his upcoming match with Dude Love in an interview conducted by Michael Cole.
• Rocky Maivia Interview.
-Rocky Maivia insulted the Milwaukee fans. He made a great
comment about how if he had to live in Milwaukee with all the ugly women, he'd be downing
lots of beer too. Faarooq came in and attacked him from behind, and eventually piledrove him
onto a chair. The rest of The Nation came in to Maivia's aide, but the damage was done.
Maivia had to receive medical attention, because his neck was injured when going through
Faarooq's piledriver. It remained questionable whether Rocky Maivia would be able to defend
his Intercontinental Title against Faarooq later in the night.
• Jeff Jarrett w/Tennessee Lee defeated Steve Blackman via Pinfall.
-During the match,
Jim Ross informed fans that Commissioner Slaughter had ordered Rocky Maivia to defend his
Intercontinental Title against Faarooq no matter what his condition was. Al Snow with head, who
was wearing a sombrero (Mexican hat), joined the Spanish commentating team, but was thrown out.
In the match, Jarrett used various maneuvers to wear down Blackman when he was in trouble. With
some help from Tennessee Lee, Jeff Jarrett nailed Blackman with one of Blackman's lethal sticks
for the win.
• Marc Mero defeated Sable via Pinfall.
-Sable's "Mystery Man" turned out to be herself.
Mero supposedly spoke from his heart, and would let Sable have her freedom by letting her pin
him. However, Mero tricked Sable, only letting her get a two count, while he rolled her over
for a full three count. Sable would have to leave the WWF, and Mero teased her about it, singing
"Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!"
• BONUS and HANDICAP Match: Kaientai w/Yamaguchi San defeated Taka Michinoku and Bradhsaw
with Togo's Sinton Backsplash.
-Taka Michinoku had the win with the Michinoku Driver, but
Teioh and Sho interfered. Togo then finished off Taka with a Sinton Backsplash for the win.
• Rocky Maivia defeated Faarooq via Pinfall, retaining the WWF Intercontinental Title.
-Commission Slaughter first gave Rocky Maivia 10 seconds to enter the ring. Maivia came out
because he didn't want to be stripped of the Intercontinental Title. Faarooq took Maivia's
neckbrace off, and began to dominate him. However, Rocky Maivia was still able to retain his
Intercontinental Title after cradling Faarooq with his feet on the ropes for leverage.
Afterwards, Faarooq continued his piledrivers on Maivia. He was then hammered by the rest of
The Nation, but DeGeneration X ran them out.
• Kane w/Paul Bearer defeated Vader with the Tombstone.
-After Vader missed a moonsault,
Kane took advantage, and finished Vader off with the Tombstone. With the Mask vs. Mask
stipulation, Kane freely removed Vader's mask. Paul Bearer put on Vader's mask and did a
hilarious imitation of Vader, saying it was "Paul Bearer Time!" Afterwards, Vader was
interviewed. He was very upset over his loss, and used profanity to explain maybe "Vader Time"
was over. He said, "maybe I AM a big piece of shit."
• Mad Dog Vachon and The Crusher were honored as legends. Vachon said he appreciated being honored and also mentioned Luna was his neice and he didn't approve of Vince McMahon's current actions. The Crusher was also very appreciative of the award. Jerry Lawler entered the ring, and began to criticize the two legends. He attempted to take off Vachon's wooden leg, but instead, was knocked out by it by the hands of The Crusher.
• The Nation (Owen Hart, D-Lo Brown, and Mark Henry) defeated D-Generation X (Hunter Hearst
Helmsley, Jesse James, and Billy Gun) w/X-Pac and Chyna via Pinfall.
-D-Generation X started
off with their usual introduction. Both tag teams worked together to save one another when
pinfalls were secured. The referee was distracted by other action on the outside of the ring.
During that time, Owen Hart executed the Pedigree on Hunter Hearst Helmsly onto a belt for The
Nation to get the win.
• Vince McMahon did an interviewed. He said that there would be only ONE referee, himself and that the only way the match would end was by his hand only. He announced if Stone Cold Steve Austin assaulted him, he would be stripped of the WWF World Title.
• Stone Cold Steve Austin w/The Undertaker defeated Dude Love with the Stone Cold Stunner,
retaining the WWF World Title.
-Howard Finkel and Pat Patterson read index cards and gave
long (but funny) introductions for the WWF associates (Vince McMahon - Guest Referee, Gerald
Brisco - Time Keeper, and Dude Love - Challenger). However, Patterson refused to introduce Stone
Cold Steve Austin. The Undertaker entered to remain on Steve Austin's side and ensure that Vince
McMahon called the match correctly. The match between Austin and Love turned out to be very
aggressive, with it at one point taking place on top of a car. Austin was eventually busted
open. During the match, Pat Patterson unexpectedly announced that there were no
disqualifications and falls count anywhere. A chair was used, where Dude Love and Vince McMahon
were knocked out, with the latter being accidental. After Austin hit Love with the Stone Cold
Stunner, another referee tried to make the pin, but Pat Patterson pulled him out. Patterson then
attempted to make one of Dude Love's pins, but The Undertaker pulled him out and chokeslammed
him through one of the commentators tables! Gerald Brisco also tried to interfere, but suffered
the same fate as Patterson. Stone Cold Steve Austin then delivered yet another Stone Cold
Stunner, with a knocked out McMahon making the pin with "help" from Austin.
Personally, I didn't think the ppv was all THAT bad, but some of the matches were definitley lacking. JJ/Blackman really had some bad spots, nothing horrible but the wrestling seemed sloppy. I was hoping the Sable thing would reach a conclusion, but I guess we'll see that happen on RAW tonight on RAW.
I really thought the Undertaker was going to turn on Stone Cold last night and go corporate. I had visions of Undertaker ging that kneeling salute to McMahon. But then he chokslammed Patterson and Brisco through two tables. Oh well. But, both of them had an interesting stare down at the end of the show. Not quite face to face, but you can see the pic above. So, I bet we'll see some build up start for King Of The Ring tomorrow. Perhaps McMahon getting some revenge on both men by forcing them to fight at the ppv. Let Kane feud with Vader for another while. Who knows. Rumours have been abounding that Mero was getting pushed to main event status, but we'll see after RAW tonight.
As for a rating, I'd give the show a 7/10 stars, 4 of which go to the Main event alone for sheer entertainment value.
