These are all moments experienced by GTiR owners, with people who just haven't got a clue!

If you've had a similar 'experience' email it to me and I'll slap it on this page.

I had a funny incident last night , a bloke brought an Fiesta RS Turbo on
>Saturday and by Sunday he was telling everyone how quick it was(even though
>the previous owner bought an Almera GTi as a replacement and said it was
>alot faster than the RS)and how slow mine is-ha.
>so last night I let him go at a junction and chased him across a few
>roads(his girlfriend was driving), thinking that maybe his girlfriend couldn't
>drive he then told me he'd drive and kick my ass- ha ha .as she swapped seats she told me and my girlfriend that we had 'no chance'it only took one
>straight road for me to absolutely annihilate him ,first gear he was close
>halfway through second and there was a 10m gap and by 90 in third there was
>a 20-30 m gap, when I stopped he said he had 'no chance',and his girlfriend
>said "that they struggled for grip" and  "the wheels kept spinning" hhmmmm
>yeah right,so I told him 'any time any place' so hopefully tonight, I'll give
>him a head start so he can get this 'traction' that he seems to be 'lacking'.

London.

These four stories are all from the same person funnily enough also from London!

1. I was travelling to university going north on the A10 with my mate in the car.  I was cruising in 5th at 60mph in the slow lane.  In my mirrors I could see a Porsche 911 flashing a car out of the way some way back.  The car moved and the 911 started booting it down the fast lane.  When he was about 50 metres behind me I dropped it in third and floored it.  As the 911 was going faster he crept in front of me by 1 car length.  By this time I had built up my speed and we were now almost side by side.  Accelerating through the gears I stayed with him all the way until about 135mph (not exactly sure cos my speedo reads to 110mph).  The porsche didnt pull on me at all until we had to slow down due to traffic.  When the traffic cleared he floored it, so did i except this time i was behind him and pulled right up to his back bumper in his slipstream!!  He was not impressed.  By then my turning came up and i had to leave.

2.  One recent saturday afternoon i left from my house to meet a friend.  As I pulled on to the main road an Impreza STi Type R pulled out from the adjacent road.  He accelerated right up to me showing that he wanted a go!  The direction i was going led me to turn left at the roundabout and then an immediate right.  The impreza followed.  As i turned right, i floored it, as did the impreza.  Because i put my foot down first i pulled out a few car lengths, but to my surprise, the impreza wasn't catching me.  We were travelling at sick speeds for the road, (narrow, parked cars either side) over the dips and crests, we hit about 100mph before traffic slowed us down. He followed me into the petrol station and we had a little chat.  It was a brand new version 5 type r which he owned for about a month.  He asked me if i was pushing around 300bhp.  I pulled out my power graph showing 244bhp and the look on his face said it all!!

3.  I was coming home from uni one day on the dual carriage way close to my home when a sports bike blasted past me on the inside lane, i decided to give chase!  I was keeping up with him (being about 5 car length in front)  He kept checking his mirrors and i started gaining once we were past 80mph.  At the next traffic lights he stopped and left me room to stop next to him.  He told me the bike was a Yahama FZR 400, and that he thought my car was a turbo of some kind.  He then told me i didn't do too badly to keep up. ( I laughted inside me).  He then said I'll see you when i get my 1100.  The lights were ready to turn and we were revving up.  i held at 5500rpm and the lights turned. I dropped the clutch and with a slight chirp from the tyres i took off.  Away from the line i pulled 2 car lenght on him, a further 1 length at 60mph and after that i eased away through to about 110mph at which point the bike was a fair way behind.  i then slowed down for the speed camera.  After the camera the bike accelerated past me nodding his head, i waved and turned off home.

4.  A recent friday night (2 am) and me and my mates were chilling out at South Mimms services on the M25.  There was a few of us (me, an rs turbo, cavalier turbo & MR2 turbo)  The MR2 had just come back from Power Engineering and had 215bhp.  On the way home I agreed to race with Errol (MR2 owner).  As we got onto the M25 I held 3rd gear with the toyota behind me.  he pulled out to overtake me so i floored it. Going through the gears i pulled away until i was about 7 car lengths ahead.  My speedo was off the clock (110mph clock) in 5th gear at about 6300 rpm.  The car didnt pull much more and the gap with the MR2 stabalised.  The MR2 had the same clock as me so he was no help, but we estimated at travelling approx 135 - 140mph
