Motec do make an ECU that will run an electronic wastegate control. Problem with the GTI-R , is that the factory turbo is too small. Not enough air flow capacity. You should make 240 or so BHP,but 300 would be pretty much impossible without the turbo being run way outside its operating window. Over here in the UK we change cams and turbo as the first step, and run a Nissan motorsport ECU.No reason why a Motec unit shouldn't be used, though.IMHO Motec currently make the best, and most user friendly, management systems out there.

With your question on Motec Systems: Only buy a programmable computer if your wanting 320 bhp plus, as you would find little gain otherwise. The main purpose of a computer is DRIVABILITY on a highly modified car, not so much to gain a whole lotta peak HP. If you just want peak HP then get a chip to give best air/fuel ratio at peak boost. They are to be used with larger injectors, larger turbos, aftermarket ignition systems, and most probably front mount cooler. If your not planning on changing these then don't bother, spend it somewhere else. I am currently also looking for a programmable computer as well, but Motec is in my mind way overpriced. Here in Australia, my friend was quoted $5000 Aust dollars drive in drive out. (about 2100 pounds) Although they are the best when it comes to features and tunability, there is also another computer called Autronic. The guy who developed it worked for Motec at first and then designed his own. This would be much cheaper if you were in Australia - $3500 drive in drive out. I doubt if there would be any difference in computers to a car developing 350 hp. 500 hp, maybe. I know they have a "base" program to start your engine and get it ready for tuning. Like the Motec, it is programmed via a IBM compatable computer. It features Anti-lag, 3D mapping, sequential injection, turbo wastegate control, boost controller ($150 extra) as well as much more. If you wanted to have all these features with a Motec then you would have to buy one of the top models. (M4Pro) If your worried about quality then Autronic sell their computers to Cosworth engineering.and alot of Group A V8 supercars running 600 bhp. For street guys Autronic is the one to have because its just as good as the Motec at a heaps better price. I guess the main problem is support for the computer in England. I'm
not sure if they have a branch in the UK, as Motec does.
