These are my submissions to Gamewiz for Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I did not include the other GWC's submissions because I did not think it would be right to include their names without their permission.

I am a GWC at Gamewiz (GameWizCounselor). Basically, you're a staff of about 50-100 dedicated gamers online who answer questions submitted by gamers in need.

This is a really nice email service, led by Dr Gamewiz.

This is a completely volunteer service, and we don't get paid to answer questions.

In fact, if you put it in a different perspective, when you answer many questions submitted, then people might view you as a pro for a certain game...

You can become a GWC by emailing Dr Gamewiz and typing "I want to become a GWC" in the subject of your email. He'll send you a short questionaire, and you'll be added onto the roll.Submissions are sent to and read by thousands of gamers a day. This service is 24 hrs, meaning you might get more then one email a day. It is completely up to you if you want to answer it or not. If you don't want to, or you can't, then press IGNORE.

These are sample submissions, as previously stated...they might help you in Zelda 64.

QUESTION #001 - I AM STARING OUT ZELDA 64.
From the start of the game, what ITEMS should I find before entering the first level?
ANSWER Here is what to find before entering the first level

I remember playing Zelda: TOoT at Best Buy, wandering about Kokiri Forest, trying to find the shield and sword....
Kokiri Sword - When you leave your house and talk to Saria for the first time, make a left turn and you'll see a hill. Climb it, and follow the path. After you crawl through a small opening and pass a rolling rock, you'll find the Kokiri sword.
Deku Shield - Walk through the grass and the lost woods until you accumulate enough rupees to buy a Deku Shield (40 rupees - not that bad).

QUESTION #002 - What else should I do before entering the first level?
ANSWER Here is what else you you do before entering the first level:

Get a piece of heart - On top of the house with the red roof (The Kokiri Shop)
Rupees - Just collect them.
Lost Woods - Remember where the boulders are..you can blow them up and find little havens inside with usually rupees.
- Skull Kids: Play your Ocarina along with them.
- See that metal plate hanging from a tree near the two Skullkids? Use your slingshot on it when you get it inside the Deku Tree
Make sure your hearts are full. =)

QUESTION #003 - ANY TIPS ON PLAYING LEVEL ONE
LEVEL LOCATION & how to access it!
ANSWER
The Deku Tree - Go past the little Kokiri once you have the sword and shield. It's the wide easter space on your map while in the Kokiri Forest.
ITEM(s) TO BE FOUND
ANSWER
Fairy Slingshot

Working through level one, here are some tips!
ANSWER
Remember to burn some webs by using your Deku Sticks, and reflect the Deku Business Shrub's nuts with your shield. Leap from the highest level (in the Center Room with the web) onto the web to destroy it.

ZELDA 64 -the pit in the deku tree..
From: Caliburnis-GWC
QUESTION can you help me on zelda 64 i fell down a pit in the duku tree and i can't get accross to the other door what do i do

ANSWER I'm guessing the pit you're talking about is the spider web on the floor near the entrance. Well, you fell down. When you land in the water, notice that there are two ledges on both of your sides. Climb up on the higher edge and you'll see a torch. Get a Deku Stick out and pass the top of the stick through the fire (just walk around the torch like normal) and run to the opposite side. You know there's a door there behind the spider web. Walk up to and the web should burn. You might have to swing the burning stick at the web to get it to burn also.

QUESTION ~~Gohma in Deku Tree~~ I'm having a difficult time getting this guy. When he goes back up to the ceiling after I've attacked him a few times; do these hits count or do I have to start all over when he comes down? Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Caliburnis - GWC--> You can't just attack her head on like a regular enemy - you have to shoot her in her eye when it's red with a slingshot seed or throw a Deku Nut. Queen Gohma keeps leaping up to the ceiling after you attack her. I prefer targeting her so it's easier to hit then fire your slingshot, hitting her in her eye. This will stun her for a while, where then you slash at her. While she's paralyzed (she'll shake and probably turn blue) then you attack her with your sword. To do double damage, you can also target her during paralyzation and press A to leap at her with your sword. If you ever run out of Deku Nuts or slingshot seeds, just skim the outer perimeter of the room and you can slice the plants, and you might get hearts or ammo. You might have to repeat the stun and slash technique about 5 or 6 times. When she jumps to the ceiling, she'll lay some eggs. Kill the eggs with one slash, or you'll have to fight the little Gohmas when they hatch. You have to kill all the eggs (or gohmas) before she jumps down again. Also remember, you can block off the little Gohmas with your shield if they get to close.

QUESTION #004 - What do I do after finishing the first level? Where should I go & do before entering LEVEL TWO?
ANSWER Here is what else you you do before entering the second level:
Go to Hyrule Castle and look around. Collect a heart piece by beating the Treasure Chest Game, play the Slingshot Game, so on. Return the lost dog to the woman in the alley at night. It might take a few times to get the correct one, but it's in the main Square. Get an Egg from Malon near the Castle's main gate, not the one leading into the Market Place. During morning, it will hatch into a Cuccos. Climb the vines near Malon and carefully slip by the cards, and climb up a wall once you get to one. You should be right next to the castle. Continue on and wake Talon in the morning with the Cuccos. He'll leave and you can push the blocks to fall on top of each other. Climb onto it and crawl into the small crawl space. Hide behind the shrubs in the garden, or the guards'll catch you. When you get into Zelda's Garden, you can look through some windows and see some familiar faces. Talk to Zelda and then Impa will teach you Zelda's Lullaby, a song you'll use frequently. You'll also get
You can also learn Saria's Song in the Lost Woods by meeting her in the Sacred Meadow. I won't spoil the fun of telling you the path, but it looks like a false entrance...
Try learning the Sun Song also. It changes night to day and vice versa. Find it by playing Zelda's Lullaby in front of the Tombstone inbetween the two composer brothers' graves.

ZELDA n64 - 'Fricken 'Chicken 'Licken -how do you do it?
QUESTION - okay. i bought this game & am in the village. i've spent half of today trying to get this woman's chickens into the pen. i can hear one in the box & i have flown over one fence -with help by the chicken flying me off a rooftop.
but, how do i and where do i find these fricken chickens?
Be blunt! Be direct! ...i am losing my patience. --dr gamewiz, needing help!

ANSWER Ok, ok, calm down! If you rested a while, you would've figured by now that you can use a very useful technique - the rolling technique. You know how to roll forwards, right? Now, it's inside this box that's in front of a house next to a stairpath. Roll into the box to destroy it.

Caliburnis - GWC--> Ok, ok, calm down! If you rested a while, you would've figured by now that you can use a very useful technique - the rolling technique. You know how to roll forwards, right? Now, it's inside this box that's in front of a house next to a stairpath. Roll into the box to destroy it.
Here are all the locations of the chickens...
I will pair related chickens together by color.
-One's near the pen, but grab it, run up the windmills' stairs, then jump and fly and steer left to land close to the Potion Shop. Throw the chicken near the well so you can get it later. Go down the following stairs, and find..
-Another chicken by the big brown fence. Go back up the stairs and toss it over the fence close to the well along with the other chicken. Go back to where you found the 2nd chicken, and climb the ladder. Where you will..
-Find the third chicken. Fly off towards the pen, and dump it in the pen. Go back to the other 2 chickens that you left off at the well and throw them in the pen also. Now your chicken total is 3.

-There's one in the box described above (roll into the box to destroy it and get the chicken. Take this chicken up the stairs that were nearby, and walk past the tall lookout tower and get on the red roof. You'll see....
-Another chicken that is across, near the house of the Gold Skulltula victims. Fly across and get that chicken. Take both chickens and toss them over. 5 chickens are herded up now.

-Go north of the lookout tower towards the Death Mountain trail to find another chicken. Toss him into the pen.
-There's also one near the entrance to Kakariko Village. Throw him in for 7 Cuccos.
When you're done, the woman will give you a glass bottle.

ZELDA 64 -"..those golden skulltulas.."
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION i need help in zelda64. I am on the quest to kill all the golden skulltulas. I have found one in the graveyard, scaling the wall, but he is out of reach. Even if i shoot him with my slingshot, this medal that i need to collect will be to high to get. This also occurs in lon long ranch, (there is a golden skulltula scaling the house) and he is also out of reach. There are many other places also. Well, if u can please tell me how to get them down or how to lure them to me, i would be most grateful. THANKS

Well, you might have to wait awhile to get them. If there ever is a Golden Skulltula that you can't reach (or a heart piece), it's best to jot it down on paper. Unfortunately, you can't get them until you get Link's Boomerang (only Young Link can use it). You'll find the boomerang inside the third...um..."dungeon". You'll know what I mean. Target the Token and then catch it with your boomerang! You can do the same with the Hookshot once you get it as an adult.

ZELDA 64 -"..i have the game!. but, i talked with the king.."
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION well i goth this game yesterday and im up to these rock eating creatures part i have talked to the king guy inside the main part of the cave but i dont know where to go next?
Any other TIPS for me... come on! break loose for a gamewiz friend!

Did you go back to the Lost Woods yet, and through the Sacred Meadow? I don't think you listened to what Navi said after you met Zelda.
"What would Saria think if we told her we are going to save the world?" Or something similiar.
Now, if you have the Saria's Song, skip this part. Go back to the Lost Woods, and take a right turn as soon as you enter. Then go up one screen, right one, then up two screens. Make a left turn, then go up. You'll enter the Sacred Meadow. Go through the hedge maze and learn Saria's Song.
Play Saria's Song in front of Dariunia and he'll think it's the hottest thing around, and he'll dance a bit, and give you the Goron Bracelet. When you have this, walk outside the entrance of Goron City, and follow the wall to the right. Pick up the Bomb Flower and toss it below to open up the entrance to Dodongo's Cave.
BTW, toss a Bomb a floor above into the spinning jar (once you lite all the torches on the lowest floor) to get a heart piece.

**ZELDA -n64- "..toon me into a tune called sairi.."
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION how do you get the song for sairi's song in the forest?????? PLEASE WRITE BACK AND HELP!!!!!!!!!

ANSWER After you talk to Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle and leave for Goron City, Navi will ask you about what Saria would think if they told her that they were going to save Hyrule. So, go back to the Kokiri Forest, and you'll gather some info. The Kokiri will say that she was at the usual place - the Sacred Meadow. Enter the Lost Woods. Turn right from the entrance, then up, then right, up two screens, and left one. Now go up one screen. You'll enter the Sacred meadow. Make your way around the hedge maze and Saria will meet you at the end. When you get Saria's Song. play it for Darunia in Goron City.

ZELDA -n64- ...getting that water spiritual crystal...
From: Caliburnis-GWC
QUESTION could you give me some specific directions on how to get the water spirituall crystal?

ANSWER You probably noticed a small stream somewhat east near the entrance to Kakariko Village (the village where Impa used to live - the one with the big windmill). Swim down that river, and you'll see a small opening. Go in, and you'll meet up with a guy who will sell you some magic beans. You don't need them now, but they'll come in handy when you go back and plant them all.
Now follow the path till you get to a plaque on the ground. Play Zelda's Melody on the plaque, and the waterfall will open. Jump into it, and work your way to the King Zora. Make a left turn and meet a Zora who will let you dive for some rupees. Pay 20 rupees and dive. Get all of them and go back and it'll give you a Silver Scale, which will double the time you can stay underwater (which is probably 6 seconds now). Dive into the small underpath near where you dove for the rupees, and when you come out you will be in Lake Hylia. Immediately when you enter look on the lake's floor. You'll see a small bottle. Dive for it and you will find a letter from Princess Ruto inside. Even though it tells you to not tell her father, do it anyway,
Return to the King Zora, and show the bottle to him. He's move slowly away and allow you passage to Jabu-Jabu.
-By the way, if you don't have a fish in a bottle by now, don't advance. Go catch one in some of the small oasises underground first - they're pretty numerous.
Once you have a fish, in the King Zora's room, follow the path on the right up past him till you find a big fish. Open the bottle and let the fish flop in front of Jabu-Jabu and he'll open you and inhale you in. This is another dungeon. When you complete it, Princess Ruto will give you the third spiritual stone.

ZELDA 64 - "..hyrule - field - runner..!"
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION Well, you and the gamesters helped me out of a tough spot before, now I need another hint. I am looking for the man running in hyrule field whom I have to sell the bunny hood. Any idea where in Hyrule Field I can find him? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

ANSWER He makes sort of a loop from the upper left corner of the Hyrule Field around Lon Lon Ranch. He also mainly follows the dirt path. If you want to intercept him, try hanging out around the fence outside of Lon Lon Ranch.

ZELDA 64 - "..Epona diddy bum racing me.."
From Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION ok, I have another problem. It's a small one, but I still need help. Epona. I know how to get Ingo to race me, but I can't beat him. I can't even attempt to pass him cause he rides close to the fence, and those carrots aren't doing me any good. I tried using them one at a time, and I tried using them all at once, but I can't go fast enough to pass him. Is there some sort of secret to beating him, or some way I can use the carrots so I can go faster? HELP!!!!

ANSWER Moderation is the key. Since Ingo's a bum, he'll give himself a semi-headstart. Do the same by using one carrot right away. Stay near him all the time, and never use more then 2 carrots in a row. He isn't hard to beat, really, it's just that you need to moderate your carrots. Try to stay in close to the fence, then use all your carrots near the end. If you win once, he'll want an encore presentation, then you can get Epona (if you win). If you lose on either try, he'll laugh at you like a moron.

ZELDA -n64- "..that scarecrow song is screwed up.."
From - Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION Doc,please help.I got Zelda:Collectors Edition for X-Mas.I just became an adult, but I realized that the Scarecrow song I taught the scarecrows,is the same as Saria's Song. Its like this:(Arrows are C Buttons)
v,<,>,v,<,>(Aso you can see,up to this point is Saria's Song),v,<
Thats the song I taught them when I was a child. Now If I play Saria's song, nothing happens.I think its overwritten. Please help doc.I need Saria's song to get to the forest temple. Please help!
P.S:Please tell me I dont have to restart my game.I dont wanna start all over :-*(

Answer Of course Nintendo would never leave you hanging like that.
Actually, you don't use Saria's Song at all to get to the Forest Temple. All Saria's Song does is let you talk to Saria over long distances. You use the Minuet of Forest to get to the Forest Temple, which you learn from Sheik at the entrance to the Forest Temple. You have to go back to the Sacred Meadow, avoiding the Moblins in the hedgemaze. Use your hookshot to kill them. Be careful, cause if they see you, they'll run you thru with their spears and chuck you in a pool.
I don't really know why you need the Scarecrow's Song at all; just use your hookshot by hooking onto a branch near the entrance. But, anyway...
Just go back to Lake Hylia as a child again, and pull out your Ocarina in front of the scarecrow and play a new original song this time, and he'll learn a new tune. Then, go back there as an adult and play the exact same tune you did 7 years ago. He'll tell Pierre to emerge whenever you play it. Note that the Scarecrow's Song isn't listed along with your other songs, so write it down if you're forgetful.

More Tips! You'll know when to call Pierre when Navi glows green in a place where there's seemingly nothing. You may also have to use the Song of Storms (learn it in the Windmill in Kakariko Village from the guy as an adult) or the Sun Song.

ZELDA 64 - "..cupid's arrow not! gimme my quiver's share..!"
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION I'm about to enter Gannon's tower. I have dispelled all the barriers and am ready to make the final trek up into the room. I figure since I need light arrows to stun/blind him (yes, I got the light arrows from zelda), I kinda wanna carry more than 30. Can you tell me where the heck to find the quivver upgrades? Even if I can just carry a total of 40 arrows, it's still more than 30. Thanks for all your help.

ANSWER 30, eh? That sounds just about enough to cut it with Ganondorf, but you might want a few extras in case you miss.
-You'll get 10 more arrows by getting 1000 points or more in the Horseback Archery at the Gerudo Fortress Range.
-10 more await you when you shatter all the rupees at the Bow and Arrow game at Kakariko Village.
More Tips! Make sure you capture all 10 Big Poes in Hyrule Field to get the 4th Bottle! Fill them all up with Blue Potions from the Witch in Kakariko if you're confident in your skill or make it 3 Blue Potions and a Fairy if you need a little boost if you think you might recharge too late.

ZELDA 64 -"..ugly guy - mushroom - potion..brach..!"
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION i need help in zelda 64. i am currently an adult link and i recived the blue chicken (cojiro) from the lady in kakariko village. I gave it to the ugly guy in the lost woods he gave me a mushroom. i then had to hurry to the potion shop in kakariko village to give it to the granny, in granny's potion shop. she gave me an "odd potion" and said to give it to the ugly guy, but he isn;t in the same spot anymore, where do i find him? thanks

ANSWER He won an all expense paid trip to Lake Hylia, so he's outta there. J/K...
He's not there anymore; but a little Kokiri girl is. Give the Odd Potion to the Kokiri girl, and then she'll give you the Poacher's Saw. She'll say that he left it there.
Make sure to go back to Granny's Shop to get Blue Potions! They're really helpful.

ZELDA 64 -"..po po potion zappa question..!"
From: Caliburnis - GWC
QUESTION OK...here's a good one. Red potion restores life, and green restores magic. is there a blue potion in zelda 64 that restores both magic and life? If so, where the heck is it?

ANSWER Good one, eh? Not too good...if you couldn't find it, then you'll never be able to get the strongest sword (not the master sword...). It's really easy to find it.
First, you got the Pocket Cuccos from the chicken lady in Kakariko Village as an adult, right?
Well, bring it to Talon (who's also in Kakariko Village) and wake him up with it. He'll go back to Lon Lon Ranch.
Give the P. Cuccos back to the chicken lady. She'll give you her lonely brother's chicken, Cojiro (the spelling is relatively close...). It's a blue chicken. Go to the lost woods, and do you remember where that single Skull Kid was a child? Go there and show the Cojiro to the person there. That's the chicken lady's brother.

ZELDA -n64- "..rumors - see thru & the giant's wallet.."
From:
QUESTION I was wondering how you got the item in Zelda 64 to see through walls and treasure chests and how you obtain the giants wallet. Thanks.

answered by Caliburnis - GWC--> You mean the Lens of Truth. You can get the Lens of Truth once you lower the well's water in Kakariko Village as a child by playing the Song of Storms in the Windmill (the placed called "?"). You can only go to the bottom of the well as a child, as there is a barrier when you go there, and besides, adult Link is too big to fit in the little corridors. You need the Lens of Truth for the Shadow Temple, so unless you already have 4 medallions as an adult (Light, Forest, Fire, Water) it isn't necessary to get it yet, because most of the stuff is visable anyway, and the Lens really only works on the chests in the Treasure Chest game in the Market at night.
You get the Adult's Wallet by getting 10 Gold Skulltula tokens. This will max out your total to 200 or so. When you get get 20, you'll get the Stone of Agony. You'll get the Giant's Wallet by getting 30 Gold Skulltula Tokens. This will bring your total amount to 500 rupees, the most you can carry in the game.

QUESTION In Zelda 64, there is a fishing game in Lake Hylia. There is another lure you can use. Can you please tell me?
Caliburnis - GWC--> Yup, the sinking lure. You'll notice a little stream flowing out of a crack along the wall along the side. You'll find the lure somewhat between two rocks.
---X----
..........O +
.....O..O +
The X stands for the crack in the wall. The O's are the rocks. I found that I only got it once. It may be somewhere along the reeds, however, but I am not sure.
MORE TIPS! If you catch the lunker (near the logs in the middle of the lake) with the Sinking Lure, the display will say that you caught it illegaly with the skinking lure. Not much of a problem, but my 20 lb-er doesn't display that. ;-)

ZELDA n64 - Hearts don't make sense to me -where are they?
QUESTION - i remember in the older games there were hearts hidden in the overworld. well, where are they? are there sixteen total hearts? give a hero a break. thanks for all the tips.. dr gamewiz - in great distress..

ANSWER Well, there are 9 total hearts (by collecting heart pieces), 8 by beating bosses and collecting their heart containers, and you start out with 3, rounding your maximum total heart containers to 20.
You can go here to find locations of all the heart containers.
