Latin preamble The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Joann Hooper the Relict and Administratrix of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Creditts of John Hooper late of St Stephens decd doe make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Creditts of the said decd which have or that come to the hands pofton of knowledge of the said Joann Hooper or into the hands or pofion of any other pfon or pfons for her and the fame ... made doe Exhibit or caufe to be Exhibited into the Registry of the said Archdeaconry Court of Cornwall att or before the last day of January next enfuing And the fame Goods Chattels and Creditts of the said decd att the time of his death which att any time after shall come to the hands or pofion of the said Joanne Hooper or into the hands or pofion of any other pfon or pfons for her doe well and truly Administer according to Lawe and further doe make or caufe to be made the true and Just account of her said Administration att or before the last day of March next enfuing And all the reft and refidue of the said Goods Chattels and Creditts which shall be found .........ing upon the said Administratrix’s ....... the same being first Examined and Allowed of the Judge or Judges.... the time being of the said ..... shall deliver and pay or cause to be delivered and paid unto such pfon or pfons ........ as the said Judge or Judges by his or theire decree or ...... ...... to the ..... intent and meaning of a late Act of Parliament made in the two and twentieth and three and twentieth Yeare of the Raigne of our late Sovereign Lord King Charles the Second Intitled and act for the better settling of Intestate Estates shall .... and appoint and if it shall hereafter appeare that any last will and testament was made by the said decd and the Executor or Executx therein named doe Exhibit the same into the said Courte making request to have it allowed and approved accordingly If the said Joanne Hooper abovebounden being there .... required doe render and deliver the said Letters of Administration of such Testament being first had and made in the said Courte then this pfent Obligation to be void and of none effect otherwise to ..... and be in full forme and be .... Know all Men by thefe Prefents that We Ann Hooper of the Parish of Saint Enoder in the County of Cornwall, Widow, Andrew Hooper of the same Parish Yeoman and John Coppin of the Borough of Bodmin in the said County, Yeoman are held and firmly bound unto the Worshipful George Moore, Clerk, Archdeacon of Cornwall in the Sum of Twelve hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid unto the said George Moore or to his certain Attorney his Executors Adminifstators or Afsigns To which payment well and truly to be made We oblige ourfelves and each of us by her felf and himself for the whole our and each and every of our heirs Executors and Adminiftrators firmly by thefe prefents Sealed with our Seals Dated the twenty seventh Day of January in the thirty seventh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and soforth And in the Year of Our Lord One Thoufand Seven hundred and ninety seven.

The Condition of this Obligation is such That if the above bounden Ann Hooper being as the Widow admitted Administratrix of all and singular the Goods Chattles and credits of Walter Hooper late of the said Parish of Saint Enoder deceafed do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said Deceafed which have or shall come to the hands Pofsefsion or Knowledge of her the said Ann Hooper or into the Hands and Pofsefsion of any Perfon or Perfons for her and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the Regiftry of the Archdeaconry Court of Cornwall at or before the last Day of April next enfuing and the same Goods Chattles and Credits and all other the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said Deceafed at the time of his Death which at any time after shall come to the Hands or Pofsefsion of the said Ann Hooper or into the hands and pofsefsion of any other perfon or perfons for her do well and truly adminifter according to Law And further do make or cause to be made a true and juft Attempt of her said Adminiftration at or Befor the last Day of January 1798 and all the Reft and Refidue of the said Goods Chattles and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the said Administratrixs Attempt the same being first examined and allowed of by the Judge or Judges for the time being of the said Court shall ..... and pay unto such Perfon or Perfons refpectively as the said Judge or Judges by his or their Decree or Sentence purfuant to the true Intent and Meaning of a late Act of Parliament made in the two and twentieth and three and twentieth Years of the Reign of our late Sovereign Lord King Charles the Second intituled an Act for the Better settling of Inteftates Estates shall limit and appoint And if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will and Teftatment was made by the said Deceafed and the Executor or Executors therein named do exhibit the same into the said Court making Requeft to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said Ann hooper above bounden being thereunto required do render and deliver the said Letters of Adminiftration (Approbation of such Teftament being first had and made in the said Court then this Obligation to be Void, or else to remain in full Force and Virtue

St Stephens 3d June 1803 Will of John Hooper deced proved in common form before Edward Gilbert Clerk Master of Arts official etc And Admion of all and singular the Goods etc of the said deceased and any way concerning the said Will was granted to Grace Hooper the Widow of the said deceased and Sole Executrix named in the said Will Being first Sworn etc Saving etc No Inventory Stamp pd

In the name of God Amen, I John Hooper in the Parish of St Stephens in the County of Cornwall being weak in Body the sound in mind I hereby make this my last will and Testament first, I give unto James Hooper my son immediately after my Decease the Eastern part of my Dwelling House to enjoy at his pleasur with the little back House adjoining and that part of the Garden at the western end of the House that joins with the House, also I give unto him all my right and title in nine pair of Tin Bounds lying and being in Hensborrow downs in St Austle parish the names and shares are on the roll I give unto my Daughter Ann Vivyan (after my wifes Decease) the western part of my Dwelling House with the other part of the garden at the western End of the House and the plot of ground behind the House that is now enclosed I also give unto James Hooper my son free Liberty after my Decease to enclose and cultivate at his pleasure all my right in the counee? ground that I have mentioned in my Deed I also make my wife Grace Executrix of this my will and Testament to have and enjoy all my property during her life (Except what is above mentioned to my son James) and after her Decease all my Household furniture and chattles shall be Divided between my son James and my Daughter Ann Equal alike I acknowledge this to be my last will and Testament whereunto I sett my hand and seal this 22nd day of April 1803. In the Name Of God Amen I Benjamin Hooper of the Parish of Saint Stephens in Brannell and county of Cornwall being of sound and disposing mind Memory and Understanding Thanks be given unto God therefore do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to say First I will that my Funeral Charges & Debts shall be paid. Also I give unto my Sons John Hooper and Joseph Hooper the Sum of One Shilling each Also I give unto my dearly beloved Wife all and singular the Goods and Furniture in the House wherein I now dwell. To be held and enjoyed by her during the Continuance of her natural Life ~ And from & after her Decease my Will is that the same shall come to and be enjoyed by my Executor hereinafter named his Executors and Administrators, Lastly All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods & Chattels Rights & Credits whatsoever and wheresoever & of what Nature Kind & Quality soever the same may be & not hereinbefore given & disposed of after Payment of my just Debts Legacies & Funeral Expenses I do give and bequeath to Richard Hooper my Son~ And I do hereby constitute & appoint my said Son Richard Hooper Executor of this my last Will and Testament~ And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made - In Witnefs whereof I have to this my last Will set my Hand & Seal the 26th Day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and five

St Austell 3 March 1809 Will of John Hooper deced proved in common form before Nicholas Phillips Clerk Bachelor of Law Surrogate etc And Admon of all and singular of the Goods etc of the said deced and any way convening the said Will was granted to Philip Hooper and Edward Hooper, two of the sons & executors named in the said Will, receiving a power of granting the like Admion to Robin Hooper and son & Executor when he shall think profess to take the same upon himself Being first sworn etc Saving No inventory

Form before John Wallis Clerk Surr etc And Admion of all & Singular the Goods etc of the said deced and anyway concerning his said Will was granted to Mary Cock (wife of William Cock) and James Hooper the daughter and son of the said deceased and Executors named in the said Will Being first Sw etc Sav No Invry Stp £2 Under £200

In the Name of God Amen, I John Hooper of the Parish of St Stephens in Branwell in the County of Cornwall Miner being Weak in Body but of sound mind and memory thanks be to God for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following First I give and devise to my Son James Hooper, all my right and Interest in the Claywork at Gauthers in the Parish of Saint Dennis. Also I give to my Son in law William Cock my Bed and all the furniture thereunto belonging, I also give him all my wearing Apparell upon this condition that he do pay all my Funeral charges Also All my other Goods Chattells Money and securities for Money and other effects of what kind or nature soever, that I shall be pofsefsed of or intitled unto at the Time of Death I give and devise to my aforesaid Son James Hooper and my Daughter Mary Cock the Wife of the above mentioned William Cock share and share alike, upon this condition that neither of them shall not sell nor mortgage any part of my Leasehold Premises, and if my son shall happen to Die before he is married then the whole of my Leasehold Premises shall become the property of my said Daughter for her own sole and separate benefit and none of the property hereby devised to my said Daughter shall not be under the controll or Government of her present Husband, nor any other Husband that she may have, And in case my said Daughter shall happen to Die before her Brother the property hereby devised to her shall become the property of her Child or children if she leaves any, and if my said Daughter shall Die before her brother, and he shall afterwards Die not having been Married then his part of my Leasehold property shall be for the benefit of such of my said Daughters Child of children as shall be then living. And I hereby appoint my said Daughter Mary Cock and my son James Hooper Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby binding them to pay all my lawful Debts, And I hereby make void all former Wills and Testaments by me made ratifying and confirming this only to be my last Will and Testament. This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Hooper of the Parish of Saint Mewan in the County of Cornwall, Blacksmith - I will and direct that all my just debts Legacies Testamentary and Funeral Charges be fully paid and satisfied by my Executrix hereinafter named and that the Legacies be paid at the end of six months from my death - I give and bequeath unto my son Richard all my working Tools and stock of Iron in Trewoon shop I give and devise unto my son Jonathan his Executors Administrators and afsigns All such Interest as I shall have at the time of my death of and in all that Mefsuage and Tenement in or called Parra Moor in the Parish of St Ewe in the said County - I give and devise unto my Daughter Prudence her Executors Administrators and afsigns All such Interest as I shall have at the time of my death of and in All that Dwelling House and Premises near the watering in the Parish of Saint Austell - I give and devise unto my son Francis his Executors Administrators and afsigns all such Interest as I shall have at the time of my death of and in all those Premises situate near Screeda clay work in Saint Austell aforesaid and all my working tools and stock of Iron in the shop and Premises thereon - I give to my son Edward the sum of Five Pounds All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects Goods and Chattels whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath the same unto and to the use of my Daughter Catherine her Executors Administrators and Afsigns - And I nominate and appoint my said Daughter Catherine Executrix of this my will hereby revoking all former or other wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one Signed sealed published and Richard Hooper (signed) declared by the said Testator Richard Hooper as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Wm Jago John Jago

St Cleer 30 December 1850 Will of Thomas Hooper Blacksmith deceased proved in common form before John Wallis Clerk A M Official &c And Admin of all and singular the Goods &c of the said deceased and any way concerning the said Will was granted to Mary Hooper the Widow of the said deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will, Being first sworn Saving &c. This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Hooper of the Parish of Saint Cleer in the County of Cornwall Blacksmith I give and devise All that piece or parcel of Land enclosed containing one acre and four Poles or thereabouts be the same more or less formerly part of Common Moor situate and lying in the said Parish of Saint Cleer which I lately mortgaged to Ann Roskilly Broad for securing Fifty Pounds and Interest together with the dwelling Houses Erections and buildings erected and made on the said piece or parcel of Land I also give devise and bequeath All my Dwelling Houses Smiths Shop Outhouses and Garden situate in the said Parish of Saint Cleer in the occupation of John Hooper and all other my Leasehold Premises in the said Parish Unto and to the use of John Daniel of the Parish of Saint Cleer Butcher his Executors Administrators and Assigns Upon the Trusts hereinafter declared that is to say Upon Trust as to for and concerning the said Piece of Land situate and formerly part of Common Moor with all the Erections Dwelling Houses and buildings thereon (subject to and charged with the payment of the Mortgage Money and Interest due thereon and to the payment of ten Pounds which I owe Mr Thomas Kelly and the Interest thereon and to the payment of Thirty Pounds to my son William Hooper at the end of Seven years without Interest But in case of a Sale as hereinafter mentioned the said Sum of Thirty Pounds to be paid when the Purchase Money is settled) Unto my Son Thomas Hooper his Heirs and Assigns forever And as to the Dwelling Houses Smiths Shop Outhouses and Garden situate in the said Parish of Saint Cleer Upon Trust to let the same (save the Dwelling House in my possession which I give to my Wife during my Interest therein) to my Son John Hooper or to any other person or persons for a Term not exceeding Seven Years to commence from the first quarter day next after my death at such Rent as my said Trustee his Executors or Administrators may think reasonable and after paying thereout the Conventionary Rent and the expences of keeping the same in repair and other incidental Expences do and shall pay two third parts of such surplus Rents towards reducing the Mortgage debt thereon and the remaining thirdpart of such surplus Rents I direct shall be paid to my Wife during her Life If my Interest therein shall so long continue And after the Mortgage debt thereon has been paid I give the said two third parts of the Surplus Rent aforesaid to Samuel Hooper his Executors Administrators and Assigns Provided always and I hereby authorize my said Trustee his Executors administrators or assigns to sell all the said Freehold and Leasehold hereditaments and Premises and to join in making and Transfer of the Mortgages thereon for the purpose of paying off All Incumbrances thereon and in that case as to my Freehold hereditaments situate in Common Moor after payment of the mortgage Money and Interest and the Sum of Ten Pounds and Interest to the said Thomas Kelly and Thirty Pounds to my son William as aforesaid to pay the remainder Unto my son Thomas Hooper his Executors administrators and Assigns And as to my Leasehold dwelling Houses Outhouses and Garden save the House given to my said Wife I direct my said Trustee to pay out of the proceeds of the Sale thereof the Mortgage Money and Interest due thereon And subject thereto Upon trust to pay to my Wife One third of the Surplus Money and to pay to my Son the said Samuel Hooper the remaining two thirds of such Surplus Money All the residue of my Property I give to my said Wife subject to the payment of such debts as I may owe (save the debts before mentioned) funeral and testamentary Expenses And I appoint my said Wife Sole Executrix of this my Will And for all the purposes of this my Will I declare that the Receipt of my said Trustee shall be good and sufficient discharges for the Money in such Receipt expressed and that the person paying the same shall not be afterwards answerable for the misapplication thereof or liable to see to the application thereof or to enquire If any sale of transfer of Mortgage is necessary In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day of August one thousand Eight hundred and fifty Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Testator in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as Witnesses Wm Clark Richard G Ellery The Mark of Thomas Hooper

In the Archdeaconry Court of Cornwall In the Goods, &c. of Thomas Hooper late of the Parish of St Cleer Blacksmith deceased

Appeared personally Richard Gibbings Ellery of the Borough of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall, Accountant and made oath that he is one of the subscribed Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Thomas Hooper late of the Parish of St Cleer Blacksmith deceased, now hereunto annexed, beginning thus, - " This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Hooper of the Parish of Saint Cleer in the County of Cornwall blacksmith " ending thus, - "In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty " and thus subscribed, - " The mark of X Thomas Hooper " And that this deponent and William Clark and the other subscribed Witness to the same Will, were present at the same time when the said deceased, on the twenty ninth day of August I850 wrote and subscribed his name mark to the said Will, and this Deponent and the said William Clark and subscribed their names thereto, in the presence of the said Testator and of each other, as Witnesses thereof. I Richard Hooper of Coombe in the Parish of St Stephen in Branwell Yeoman do hereby make this my last Will and Testament, I give, devise, and dispose of all my worldly Effects in the following Manner Viz 1st I give to Richard my beloved Son the Sum of Ten Shillings 2nd I give to Benjamin my beloved Son the Sum of Ten Shillings 3rd I give to John my beloved Son the Sum of Five Shillings 4th I give to Francis my beloved Son the Sum of Five Shillings 5th I give to Betsy my beloved Daughter the Sum of Ten Shillings 6th I give to Mary Ann my beloved Daughter the Sum of Twenty Shilling - my Watch and one Bed 7th I also give to Jane my beloved Daughter, whom I make and ordain my Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament - All and Singular my Tenements, And other Property, of Whatever kind and whenever found to hold and enjoy unmolested, who is to receive, and discharge all debts, and Legacies - I hereby revoke and disallow all other Wills or bequest by me heretofore made and confirm this as my last Will and testament As Witnefs My hand this 13th day of June 1851 Signed Sealed and declared in the Presence of us, who in Rd Hooper (signed) the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names Saml Lawry George Yelland
