I John DAWES of the Parish of Henbury in the County of Gloucestershire Yeoman do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following. (that is to say) I direct to be buried at the Discretion of my Executrix and Executors herein after named: I give to each of my Children (except my two sons James and Jonathan) the Sum of eighty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain, the same to be paid to such of them who shall attain the Age of twenty-one years in my Lifetime within six Calendar months next after my Decease, and to such of them who shall be of under the Age of twenty-one years at my Decease, when and as they shall respectively attain that Age, the same Legacies to be paid to my said children (except as aforesaid) out of the Residue of my Estate hereinafter given to or in Trust for my wife Elizabeth. I give, devise and bequeath unto my Wife Elizabeth and her assignees for and during the term of her natural life. All that Leasehold Messuages and Tenements with the garden orchard Right of Common and Appurtenances to the same belonging situate at Compton in the Parish of Almondsbury in the said County of Gloucester. Now void and under repair and held by me by Thomas Master Esquire. TO HOLD the same unto my said Wife and her Assignees for and during the Term of her natural Life and from and after the Decease of my said Wife, I give, devise and bequeath the same to my two sons James and Jonathan their Executors, Administrators and Assignees equally to be divided between them as in common and not as joint tenants - I give and bequeath unto Edward Jackues of Sodbury in the County of Gloucester, Farmer and John Hewett of Stowich in the said Parish of Henbury, Farmer. All and singular my monies and securities for Money, Household Goods and Furniture, Farming Stock, both live and dead and all other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind so ever Upon Trust that they the said Edward Jakues and John Hewett and the Survivors of them and the Executors and Administrators and Assignees of such survivor Do and shall permit and suffer my said Wife to have the Use and Enjoyment of my Said monies and Securities for Money, Households Goods, Farming Stock, and others my personal Estate last mentioned (subject to the payment of the aforesaid Legacies to my said Children) for and during the term of her natural Life for her own use and benefit and from and after her Decease I give and bequeath my said last Mentioned Estate and Effects unto all and every my Children as well as sons and daughters equally to be divided between them share and share alike their Executors, Administrators and Assignees absolutely. Provided and it is my express will that insofar as my said Wife shall marry again, every devise, gift and bequest under this my Will shall cease as to my said Wife and be utterly annulled and void as if the same had never been made And from and immediately after such Marriage I give, devise and bequeath my said Messuages or Tenement at Compton, Right of Common and Premises to the same belonging to my said two sons James and Jonathan, their Executors, Administrators and Assignees equally between them as Tenants in Common as tho' my said Wife were actually dead - And immediately after the marriage of my said Wife, I give and bequeath all my monies and securities for money, household goods and furniture, farming stock and all other my personal Estate and Effects unto and among all and every my children equally to be divided between them, share and share alike their Executors, Administrators, Assignees - for their own use and benefit as tho' my said Wife were then dead. And I nominate and appoint my said wife Elizabeth and the said Edward Jackues and John Hewett Executrix and Executors this my Will - And I direct my said Trustee to reimburse themselves all costs charges and expenses they shall be out in or about the execution of the Trusts of this my Will in WITNESS WHEREOF I the said John DAWES fixed to this my Last Will and Testament subscribed and set my Hand and Seal the twelfth day of May in the Year of our Lord One Tousand Eight Hundred and Four.
