December 1867 Wakefield
This is the last Will and Testament of me John Rothera of Seed Hill Terrace in Ovenden in the Parish of Halifax and County of York, Worsted Spinner, somewhat infirm in body but of sound and disproving mind memory and understanding do make my last Will and Testament as follows. I will and hereby direct that all my just debts funeral and Testametary expenses and the charges of the probate hereof be paid and discharged by my executors hereinafter nominated and appointed. I hereby appoint any executors as soon after my decease as convenient to sell my household furniture and the house in Seed Hill Terrace to be divided among my brothers and sisters share and share alike, Fanny Craven the wife of John Craven, Nancy Hartley the wife of John Hartley, Paul Rothera, William Rothera, George Rothera and Robert Rothera names of my brothers and sisters I therefore Will and bequeath all of my property whatsoever unto the before mentioned parties. I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Johnson Hope Green and William Hooson Worsted Spinner Executors hereof and I do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other will or wills whatever. Witness whereof I the said John Rothera the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven. These two sheets of paper were each of them signed by the said John Rothera to Testator and by him published and declared to be and contain his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names in witness. Proved at Wakefield the 26th day of December 1867 by the ...... of Johnson Hope and William Hooson the Executors to whom Administration was granted.
The Testator John Rothera was late of Seed Hill Terrace in Ovenden in the Parish of Halifax in the County of York Worsted Spinner and died on the 13th day of November 1867 at Seed Hill Terrace aforesaid.
