Every day he goes outside
and looks up at the tree
it is so intimidating
to a young boy such as he

He builds up his courage
a little more each day
wishing he could sit up there
beside the big blue jay

Maybe with a little boost
and mama standing by
he'll gather all his energies 
and give it one more try

Today I heard him proudly call
"hey mama, look at me"
and there he sat all by himself
in the top of that big ole tree
