Obverse Reverse

This one has a rather unique historical interest. It is a silver denier minted by William X of Aquitaine, (1127-1137) a region to the south of Paris. He was the father of Eleanor of Aquitaine who was to become Queen of France and then later, England. Quite a remarkable woman, and theoretically, she could have carried this coin around as pocket change. The obverse shows four small crosses surrounded by + GVILEIMO (William). The reverse shows a cross surrounded by the legend + BVRDEGALA (which translates to Bordeaux). This coin is in F (Fine) condition.
