Sift:
  2 and 1/4 cups flour (whole wheat)
  1 tsp. baking soda
  1 tsp. salt

Combine:
  1/2 cup softened sweet butter
  1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  3/4 cup granulated sugar
  3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  1 tsp. vanilla
  1/2 tsp. water

Beat until creamy.

Beat in two eggs.

Add flour mixture.

Stir in two cups (12 oz.) chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped nuts.

Drop by well-rounded half-teaspoon fulls on to greased cookie sheets.

Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
