Dough ingredients:
  8 oz. cream cheese
  1/4 lb. unsalted butter
  1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind
  1 and 1/2 cups flour

Filling ingredients:
  3 eggs (can be omitted)
1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1 tsp. Amaretto or other flavoring
  1 and 1/2 cup raisins
1 and 1/2 cups ground nuts
  2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tablespoons melted butter (can be omitted)

Directions:
Soften cream cheese and butter for 1 minute or so in microwave oven.
Blend cream cheese, butter, and lemon rind.
Add flour and mix with dough hooks until you have a nice, soft dough.
Beat the eggs in a large bowl until frothy.
Add cinnamon, flavoring, and sugar, and mix well.
Put the raisins in a container and pour boiling water over them (to re-hydrate).
Let them sit a few minutes, then drain and chop in a blender.
Add 2 tbs. melted butter to the egg mixture.
Fold in the nuts and raisins and mix well.
If the dough is too soft to handle, refrigerate it for a while.
Roll out the dough and spread it with the filling.
Roll the dough like a jelly roll and chill for about 20 minutes.
Slice rounds off the roll and put on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
