This
terrestrial montane species bears an elegant flower which has a slipper
shaped lip and an upright sepal with distinct lines of green and purple
against a white background. The variety sublabe, an endangered
species that in endemic to Penang has been adopted as the logo of the Friends
of the Penang Botanie Gardens Society.
