A study to find the meaning of grace

By Robert O. Sanford

Study To Find The Meaning Of Grace.

(2 Tim 2:15 KJV) "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

The following is a list of most of the scriptures that contain the word GRACE. The scriptures that are not listed here are the scriptures where the word GRACE is used without a description that would defines its meaning. The reason for these scriptures being listed here, is to see if you can find a teaching in them that agrees with reformers like Martin Luther, the Catholic priest, who came out of the Roman Catholic Church by protesting the teaching that a believer had to be obedient to do the works of the Roman Catholic Church. The Pope of Rome, the New Roman Caesar over the Religion of the Rome Empire, demand that everyone bow their knee to him in regards to their worship of a god. The Pope, himself, was depicted as the god over the Pagan Roman Empire and the Whole Worldly System. The Bible teaches us who the is god of this Worldly System.

This is the origin of the teaching of salvation by works that Luther was so against. The Roman Church never did teach that one must be saved by keeping the Commandments of God or bring forth Works ment for repentances. It was the Catholic Church who would think to changed the Laws of God, by changing Sabbath Worship from Sundown to Sundown, to Pagan Sunday Worship.

"Rev. John O'Brien, The Catholic World, March 1994, p. 809, "The Sun was a foremost god with heathendom… The sun has worshipers at this hour in Persia and other lands… There is, in truth, something royal, kingly about the sun, making it a fit emblem of Jesus, the Son of Justice. Hence the Church in these countries would seem to have said 'keep that old pagan day. It shall remain consecrated, sanctified.' And thus the pagan Sunday, dedicated to Balder, became the Christian Sunday, sacred to Jesus." Henry Tuberville, D.D.,

An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine (R.C.), p. 58, "Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holy days? Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church. Question: How can you prove that? Answer: Because by keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the Church's power to ordain feasts, and to command them under sin: and by not keeping the rest [of the feasts] by her commanded, they again deny, in fact, the same power."

They did not teach obedience to the Christ of Israel, but to the Pope of Rome. The people at that time did not even have the Bible available for them to know the Laws of God or the Bibical teaching in God's Word on His Grace.

Luther picked the following Scripture out of the Bible to do combat with that teachings of his church. Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast." It was the Sunday Protestant Church who latter propagated the present teaching of Grace, by re-applying it to the keeping by doing what the Holy Commandments of God tell man to do for his Salvation. The Sunday Church needed a teaching to justify their transgression of the law, as they were not keeping the 7th Day Sabbath, which was part of the Covenant God made with Israel for their salvation from sin.

All the pagan religions, including the Catholic Church and her sister churches, still teach that you are saved by your works that they require you to do. The teaching of Jesus Christ is the only Faith that teaches that one must be Faithful to do God's Works. Christ teaches that one must stop their work of fulfilling the law of sin and death. The works of man cannot be substituted for obedience to do God's Will. The Life of God, must truly be living in us as our Salvation, in order to have His Salvation in us. When we are living our life through the Life of Christ living in us, we will always be doing the Works of God from God's Life living within.

With the teaching that one does not have to keep the Jews Covenant that God made with Israel for their Salvation from sin, they have created a church for the lawless Gentiles to feel at home in. Sinners can believe that they have Salvation as sinners, by un-merited Grace. They made the keeping of the Covenant that God made with Israel and the Gentiles Strangers who join themselves to it, for their Salvation from sin, null and void in their life. The people who believe this teaching, are taught that all the works that are required of their god, are the works of man and not the works of the Righteous God of Israel. They teach that the ones who keep the Holy Laws that contain the Righteousness of the God of Israel, are trying to be saved by their own works. They say that if one keeps the Laws God gave to the Jews, they have denied Grace.

The Word of God teaches that one who practices sin cannot be Saved. (Mat 7:23 NASB) The Word of God teaches that one cannot receive the Righteous Life of Christ to live in them as the Christ, to save them, while they are still living as an outlaw, outside of the Laws of God's Kingdom. Psa 19:7 "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul."

The New Life from God in Christ, given back to a Righteous man, never transgresses His Own Holy Laws. He gave us the same laws that He lived His life by, for us to live our life by. 1 Pet 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. He gave His own Holy Laws to us in the Jewish Covenant, so we to could be Holy as He is Holy. His Holy Laws guide us, to help us avoid keeping the law of sin and death through our un-believe. Death comes from living a life outside of the Holy Laws of God. (John 14:12 KJV) " He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Jesus Christ did the works of His Father, thus proving He was a Faithful Son of God by doing the Father's will as His Work. (Mat 7:20 TLB) - "Yes, the way to identify a tree or a person is by the kind of fruit produced."

This teaching of most Churches made the need for people to live a Holy Life, as commanded by God in His Holy Word, null and void. Out of this misunderstanding, came the teaching that Grace is un-merited favour, which I believe is foreign to the Word of God.

The conclusion that one must draw from this teaching of Grace is that; "Grace" of itself, must be un-merited favour. They teach that there is nothing a person can do or must to do for his Salvation. Jesus did everything for them. Christ fulfilled the Law as a man to receive His resurrection from the dead. Some teach that man does not even have to be a believer, as Jesus Christ believed for us. Their teaching says; that the death of Jesus on the cross paid for all of man's past, present, and future sins. All because He fulfilled the Law for us. Therefore obedience to the Law is no longer required by God. The teaching says that man is saved because God is a Righteous God. The Blood Covenants, that God of Israel gave to the Israelites, also said; He would destroy all the UN-righteous because they would not turn from their transgression of His Holy Covenant.

This teaching, teaches that keeping the Holy Commandments of God, by living the Righteous life taught in them, is the works of man and therefore all who keep the Holy Commandments, are trying to be saved by their own works. (Rev 14:12 KJV) "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (John 14:21 KJV) "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."

The teaching that the reformers came up with, and that most all Protestant Churches still embrace today, is the common doctrine that one is saved by Grace only. Some believe that just believing in God, is the basis on which God saves everyone. It is not based on the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Master over those who accept Him as Lord and Master. Some groups put restriction on who God can be save by His Grace. Some believe that they are the only ones saved by Grace because they believe Jehovah is God. The doctrine of un-merited, or imputed favour, does not require any obedience to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. The definition of un-merited favour will not allow one to put any requirements on the person receiving it. To do so, is to make Grace merited by works.

However most all churches that use the Name of Jesus Christ, even those who believe in un-merited favour, set out a list of doctrines that one must believe in order for a person to be a Christian in their sight. They make themselves more righteous than the god they believe in. They will not accept you into their ranks unless you sign that you agree with their doctrinal believes. In most all cases, the Doctrine of un-merited favour is one of their Doctrines. Another is the doctrine of the Trinity of God. In others you must believe that Jesus Christ is the only God. In others you must believe that there is a Father and a Son who are both Gods. It seems that all men who say they believe in un-merited favour, or imputed righteousness, truly do not believe what they teach as they themselves make up their own laws and standards of what is required to receive un-merited favour.

The Meaning of the Word Grace a found in the Bible.

The following is a list of all the scriptures that contain the Word Grace. Each one contains a definition within the scripture itself, to define the meaning of Grace. What one decides the meaning of Grace is from the words in the context of these passages, is up to you to decide. The conclusion that you draw from the truth revealed in the scripture is what will become part of your life and define how you walk with God. If we learn the truth about what God's Word is trying to teach us about His Grace, we can better understand what God requires from us. His grace was given to reconcile us back to the Life of God in us, that was living in Jesus Christ. (Roman 8:2)

The Word Grace is found in the KJV 170 times in 159 verses. 84 of the 159 verses are listed below for your examination..

Scriptures Containing the Word Grace.

(1) (Jude 1:3-6 KJV) "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. {4} For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. {5} (2Tim 3:3-4) I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward (3) destroyed them that believed not. {6} And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."

He tried always to conduct his affairs according to God's will."

(1) Why did God tell Moses that He would do all that he asked of Him?

(8) (Num 32:4-5 KJV) "Even the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle: {5} Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan."

(9) (2 Sam 14:22 KJV) "And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant."

(1) Why did God give Grace to David and the people like him? Did David do something special in His sight?

(13) (Prov 1:5-10 KJV) "A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: {6} To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. {7} The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. {8} My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: {9} For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. {10} My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."

(1) What are the ornaments of Grace on the head and about the necks of the one who follows God's Laws?

(14) (Prov 3:32-35 KJV) "For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. {33} The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. {34} Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. {35} The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools." (Prov 4:1-2 KJV) "Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. {2} For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law."

(1) Why does God give secrets to the lowly, and what did He call the knowledge that He gave them? Why are God's secrets with the Righteous? Is it not because He favours the Righteous and despises the Law breakers?

(15) (Prov 22:9-14 KJV) "He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. {10} Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. {11} He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. {12} The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor. {13} The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. {14} The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein."

(1) How did God describe the lips of the man that loveth the pureness of heart?

(2) Does God give Grace to men that abhorred the Lord? Is that not what un-merited favour teaches God does?

(16) (Jer 30:23-24 KJV) "Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. {24}The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it." (Jer 31:1-2 KJV) "At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. {2} Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest."

(1) Who found Grace in the sight of the Lord?

(17) (Luke 2:38-41 KJV) "And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. {39} And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. {40} And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. {41} Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover."

(1) Why was the Grace upon the Boy Jesus?

(18) (John 1:12-14 KJV) "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: {13} Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. {14} And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

(1) Was Jesus full of Grace because He was a righteous Son of God, or because He had received Grace (un-merited favour) because of present sins?

(19) (John 1:15-18 KJV) "John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. {16} And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. {17} For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. {18} No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

(20) (Acts 11:21-24 KJV) "And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. {22} Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. {23} Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. {24} For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord."

(21) (Acts 13:42-44 KJV) "And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. {43} Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. {44} And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God."

(1) Was Paul trying to persuade the people to sin so that they could continue in Grace? If Grace is un-merited favour, then that's what the people would have to do to continue in Grace?

(22) (Acts 14:2-4 KJV) "But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. {3} Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. {4} But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles."

(23) (Acts 15:10-11 KJV) "Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? {11} But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they."

(24) (Acts 18:26-28 KJV) "And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. {27} And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: {28} For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ."

(25) (Rom 1:3-8 KJV) "Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; {4} And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: {5} By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: {6} Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: {7} To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. {8} First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world."

(26) (Rom 3:21-26 KJV) "But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; {22} Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: {23} For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; {24} Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: {25} Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; {26} To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."

(27) (Rom 4:13-16 KJV) "For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. {14} For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: {15} Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. {16} Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,"

(28) (Rom 5:1-3 KJV) "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: {2} By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. {3} And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;"

(29) (Rom 6:14-18 KJV) "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. {15} What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. {16} Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? {17} But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. {18} Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."

(30) (Rom 11:4-8 KJV) "But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. {5} Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. {6} And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. {7} What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded {8} (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day."

(31) (Rom 12:2-6 KJV) "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. {3} For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. {4} For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: {5} So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. {6} Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;"

(32) (Rom 15:14-16 KJV) "And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. {15} Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God, {16} That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost."

(33) (Rom 16:18-20 KJV) "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. {19} For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. {20} And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen."

(34) (Rom 16:24-27 KJV) "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. {25} Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, {26} But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: {27} To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen."

(35) (1 Cor 1:3-9 KJV) "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. {4} I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; {5} That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; {6} Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: {7} So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8} Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. {9} God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord."

(36) (1 Cor 3:9-11 KJV) "For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. {10} According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. {11} For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

(37) (1 Cor 15:9-11 KJV) "For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. {10} But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. {11} Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed."

(38) (1 Cor 16:22-24 KJV) "If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha. {23} The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. {24} My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen."

Anathema = Excommunicated. Maranatha.= Let the judgement of the lord be upon him. Does this sound like un-merited favour for the sinner?

(39) (2 Cor 1:12-13 KJV) "For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. {13} For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;"

(40) (2 Cor 6:1-3 KJV) "We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. {2} (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) {3} Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:"

(41) (2 Cor 8:6-7 KJV) "Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. {7} Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also."

(42) (2 Cor 8:9 KJV) "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."

(43) (2 Cor 8:19-20 KJV) "And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: {20} Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:"

(44) (2 Cor 8:19 NASB) "and not only this, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness," (2 Cor 8:19 TLB) "In fact, this man was elected by the churches to travel with me to take the gift to Jerusalem. This will glorify the Lord and show our eagerness to help each other."

(45) (2 Cor 12:8-9 KJV) "For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. {9} And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

(46) (2 Cor 13:13-14 KJV) "All the saints salute you. {14} The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen."

(47) (Gal 1:3-7 KJV) "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, {4} Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: {5} To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. {6} I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: {7} Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."

(48) (Gal 1:15-16 KJV) "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, {16} To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:"

(49) (Gal 2:20-21 KJV) "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. {21} I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain." (Gal 3:1-2 KJV) "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? {2} This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?"

(50) (Gal 5:4-5 KJV) "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. {5} For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith."

How can one fall from un-merited favour if that's what Grace is?

(51) (Eph 1:2-9 KJV) "Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. {3} Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: {4} According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: {5} Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, {6} To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. {7} In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; {8} Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; {9} Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:"

(52) (Eph 1:2-3 TLB) "May his blessings and peace be yours, sent to you from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. {3} How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ."

(53) (Eph 1:6-10 KJV) "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. {7} In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; {8} Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; {9} Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: {10} That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:"

(54) (Eph 2:5-13 KJV) "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) {6} And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: {7} That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. {8} For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: {9} Not of works, lest any man should boast. {10} For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. {11} Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; {12} That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: {13} But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ."

(55) (Eph 3:7-10 KJV) "Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. {8} Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; {9} And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: {10} To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,"

(56) (Eph 4:4-7 KJV) "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; {5} One Lord, one faith, one baptism, {6} One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. {7} But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ."

(57) (Eph 4:29-32 KJV) "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. {30} And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31} Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: {32} And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

(58) (Eph 5:1-4 KJV) "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; {2} And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. {3} But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; {4} Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks." (Eph 6:24 KJV) "Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen."

(59) (Phil 1:7-10 KJV) "Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. {8} For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. {9} And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; {10} That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;"

(60) (Col 1:2 KJV) "To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

(61) (Col 1:5-6 KJV) "For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; {6} Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:"

(62) (Col 3:16-17 KJV) "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. {17} And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

(63) (2 Th 2:15-17 KJV) "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. {16} Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, {17} Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work." (2 Th 3:1-2 KJV) "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: {2} And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith."

(64) (2 Tim 1:2 KJV) "To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord."

(2 Tim 1:2 TLB) "To: Timothy, my dear son. May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord shower you with his kindness, mercy, and peace."

(65) (2 Tim 1:9-10 KJV) "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, {10} But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:" (2 Tim 1:9-10 TLB) "It is he who saved us and chose us for his holy work not because we deserved it but because that was his plan long before the world began--to show his love and kindness to us through Christ. {10} And now he has made all of this plain to us by the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ, who broke the power of death and showed us the way of everlasting life through trusting him."

(66) (Titus 2:10-14 KJV) "Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. {11} For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, {12} Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; {13} Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; {14} Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

(67) (Titus 3:4-8 KJV) "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, {5} Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; {6} Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; {7} That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. {8} This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

(68) (Heb 10:28-31 KJV) "He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: {29} Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? {30} For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. {31} It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

(69) (Heb 12:12-16 KJV) "Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; {13} And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. {14} Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: {15} Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; {16} Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright."

(70) (Heb 12:27-29 KJV) "And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. {28} Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: {29} For our God is a consuming fire."

(71) (Heb 13:1-2 KJV) "Let brotherly love continue. {2} Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

(72) (Heb 13:8-10 KJV) "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. {9} Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. {10} We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle."

(73) (James 4:5-10 KJV) "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? {6} But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. {7} Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. {8} Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. {9} Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. {10} Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."

(74) (1 Pet 1:2-5 KJV) "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. {3} Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, {4} To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, {5} Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

(75) (1 Pet 1:9-11 KJV) "Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. {10} Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: {11} Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow."

(76) (1 Pet 1:12-15 KJV) "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. {13} Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; {14} As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: {15} But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;"

(77) (1 Pet 4:10-13 KJV) "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. {11} If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. {12} Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: {13} But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."

(78) (1 Pet 5:5-8 KJV) "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. {6} Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: {7} Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. {8} Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

(79) (1 Pet 5:9-12 KJV) "Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. {10} But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. {11} To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. {12} By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand."

(80) (2 Pet 1:2-4 KJV) "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, {3} According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {4} Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

(81) (2 Pet 3:16-18 KJV) "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. {17} Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. {18} But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."

(82) (2 John 1:1-4 KJV) "The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; {2} For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever. {3} Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. {4} I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father."

If we decide that the Sunday Church's teaching of Grace, as un-merited favour, is true then sinners who continue to practice lawlessness, have their salvation based only on the fact that God Himself is Righteous. Obedience for us to walk as Jesus Christ walked, than cannot be required of us, as our Heavenly Father's required it of the man Jesus. It cannot be required of us if un-merited favour is true. According to this teaching, the keeping of the Commandments of God and living the Righteous Life of Christ, is trying to be saved by our own works. Trying to be saved by having the Laws of God living in us as our New Way of Life, would be denying God's Grace

Wouldn't just believing (which is a work for a carnal man) the gospel of Jesus Christ, repudiate the teaching of un-merited favour, if one must believe to be saved? Wouldn't believing that the Grace of God is un-merited favour nullify the law of "what a man sows, that he shall also reap"? (1 John 3:8-9 TLB) "But if you keep on sinning, it shows that you belong to Satan, who since he first began to sin has kept steadily at it. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the devil. {9} The person who has been born into God's family does not make a practice of sinning because now God's life is in him; so he can't keep on sinning, for this new life has been born into him and controls him--he has been born again." (1 John 2:29 KJV) "If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him." (1 John 3:7-8 KJV) "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. {8} He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning."

How do we correlate these scriptures with the teaching of Grace as being un-merited favour? Does one need to, or not need to, be born again of the Life of God. At this present time, does the Life of God have to live in us as the Christ, to have the Kingdom of God within us?" (Luke 17:21 KJV) "the kingdom of God is within you." (John 3:3 TLB) "Jesus replied, "With all the earnestness I possess I tell you this: Unless you are born again, you can never get into the Kingdom of God." (Col 1:27 KJV) "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"

(Gal 6:7-9 KJV) "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. {8} For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. {9} And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

(Rom 3:4-6 TLB) "Of course not! Though everyone else in the world is a liar, God is not. Do you remember what the book of Psalms says about this? That God's words will always prove true and right, no matter who questions them. {5} "But," some say, "our breaking faith with God is good, our sins serve a good purpose, for people will notice how good God is when they see how bad we are. Is it fair, then, for him to punish us when our sins are helping him?" (That is the way some people talk.) {6} God forbid! Then what kind of God would he be, to overlook sin? How could he ever condemn anyone?"

(Heb 2:2-3 TLB) "For since the messages from angels have always proved true and people have always been punished for disobeying them, {3} what makes us think that we can escape if we are indifferent to this great salvation announced by the Lord Jesus himself and passed on to us by those who heard him speak?"

We can hold to the traditions of the Catholic Church and the teaching of reformers such as Martin Luther, who was a Catholic Priest, and the majority of Protestant Churches to this day. Or we can return to the Faith of Jesus Christ, delivered to the Saints by Christ Himself and His Apostles. We have a chose to reject the teaching of man and the teachings of the Lawless Gentile Church who say that one does not have to keep the Covenant containing the Laws of God that Jesus Christ sealed with His Blood. (Rom 8:7-8 KJV) "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. {8} So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."

(Heb 10:28-31 NASB) "Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. {29} How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? {30} For we know Him who said, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY." And again, "THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE." {31} It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Grace is found 39 times in 37 verses in the Old Covenant. Yet all who transgressed the Blood Covenant Laws of God given through Moses died without mercy. Where was the un-merited favour? The Blood of the Covenant did not save them who were not obedient to do the Laws. It killed them.
