The True Christ Or The Antichrist, Which One Are You Bowing Your Knee To In Worship?

(Rom 11:1-4 TLB) "I ask then, has God rejected and deserted his people the Jews? Oh no, not at all. Remember that I myself am a Jew, a descendant of Abraham and a member of Benjamin's family. {2} No, God has not discarded his own people whom he chose from the very beginning. Do you remember what the Scriptures say about this? Elijah the prophet was complaining to God about the Jews, {3} telling God how they had killed the prophets and torn down God's altars; Elijah claimed that he was the only one left in all the land who still loved God, and now they were trying to kill him too. {4} And do you remember how God replied? God said, "No, you are not the only one left. I have seven thousand others besides you who still love me and have not bowed down to idols!"

God did not reject or desert the Commonwealth of Israel or the Covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their seed. He had to reject all the People who called themselves by His Name, Israel, who were bowing their knees to worship the Babylonian christ called "Baal". The Grace of God cannot save any people practicing Idolatry because His Covenant with Israel said all people who practice Idolatry will be destroyed. (Foot Note #1) Only the ones who are not bowing their knees to Baal by keeping the Covenant (Foot note # 2) that God gave to Israel were saved by God's Election of Grace. God has promised in His Covenant to saved all people who repent of Idolatry and stops bowing their knees to worship the false christ. Only they will be saved by His Election of Grace. (Rom 11:4-5 KJV) "But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. {5} Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."

The promises of Salvation that comes from the God of Israel, was only made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their seed and the Gentile strangers who join themselves to Israel. Christ's Salvation comes to Spiritual Israel through the Spiritual SEED called Christ again living in the person as the Son of God. This is the Seed Promised to Abraham and his seed in God's Covenant. That ONE SEED lived in God's Flesh Son Jesus born of Abraham as Jew a from the flesh Family of Judah. The Son of Abraham, and the Son of God, was Jesus Christ, who became the Christ of God when He was approved of the Father to be reconciled back to God in the Spirit. In order to be saved by the God of Israel, all men, both Jews and Gentiles must receive the Elected by Grace", to be reborn by God into the Spiritual House Hold of CHRIST. See Romans 11: 4-5. We receive the promise of the new birth when we have put on the same Faith that Faithful Abraham had in the SEED, "Jesus Christ". Jesus "Christ", the Son of the God of Israel, was that SEED. Paul said in; (Eph 2:11-15 NASB) "Therefore remember, that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "Uncircumcision" by the so-called "Circumcision," which is performed in the flesh by human hands-- {12} remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. {13} But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. {14} For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, {15} by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace," (Gal 3:28-29 KJV) "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. {29} And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Always remember that it was the Gentile believer in Christ that was grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel, not Israel that was grafted into the christ of Babylonian Paganism. (Rom 11:17 NASB) "But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree,"

THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS GIVEN AS A SIGN.

The question that we Gentiles who claim to follow the God of Israel and His Promised Son (The SEED) must ask ourselves, is how do I know that I am not bowing my knee to Baal, but only to the Jewish Christ of Israel, the ONE who said He would be in the Tomb three days and three nights? How do I know that I am not listening to Baal and his lying prophets, the Antichrists of Babylon? The people who worship Baal, don't know him by his Babylonian name, but by the name the Babylonian Church of the Rome Empire has taken from the Bible and applied to their two false christs, Nimrod and Tammuz. The Churches of Babylon, have taken the name of the Jewish Christ, and applied it to their pagan messiahs. All Pagans, even those who call themselves Christians, are blinded by the God of Israel because of their Idolatry. They don't know whom they are worshipping because the Mysteries of the Babylon Mysteries Religion is not revealed to the common people, but is only known by their Caesar (Pope) and his High Priests. (Rev 17:5-6 KJV) "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. {6} And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration." (John 4:22 KJV) "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews."

(Rom 11:4-7 KJV) "But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. {5} Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. {6} And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. {7} What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded"

"Rev. John O'Brien, The Catholic World, March 1994, p. 809, "The Sun was a foremost god with heathendom… The sun has worshipers at this hour in Persia and other lands… There is, in truth, something royal, kingly about the sun, making it a fit emblem of Jesus, the Son of Justice. Hence the Church in these countries would seem to have said 'keep that old pagan name. It shall remain consecrated, sanctified.' And thus the pagan Sunday, dedicated to Balder, became the Christian Sunday, sacred to Jesus."

(Rev 14:8-10 NASB) "And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality." {9} And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, {10} he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb."

(Rev 17:4-6 NASB) "And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, {5} and upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery, "BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." {6} And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when I saw her, I wondered greatly."

(Mat 24:23-25 NASB) ""Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him. {24} "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. {25} "Behold, I have told you in advance." (Mat 24:4-5 NASB) "And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. {5} "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many."

Jesus Christ only gave one sign to our evil and adulterous generation. That Sign was that Jesus the True Christ, would be in His Tomb for Three days and Three nights after His death on the cross. To worship a Christ that did not fulfill these requirements, would be worshipping the christ of the Babylonian Mystery Religion who they claim was only in the grave part of two days and one night. John 10:35 --- "the scripture cannot be broken;--.

Who Is The Christ Of The Babylonian Mystery Religion.

Henry Tuberville, D.D., An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine (R.C.), p. 58, "Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holy days? Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by eeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church. Question: How can you prove that? Answer: Because by keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the Church's power to ordain feasts, and to command them under sin: and by not keeping the rest [of the feasts] by her commanded, they again deny, in fact, the same power."

Mgr. Segur, Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today, p. 213, "It was the Catholic Church which, by the authority of Jesus Christ, has transferred this rest to the Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Thus the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the [Catholic] church."

The One and Only Sign Given That The Christ Of Israel Is Still The Christ Of The Sabbath.

(Mat 12:38-41 NASB) "Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You." {39} But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; {40} for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. {41} "The men of Nineveh shall stand up with this generation at the judgment, and shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here." If we do not repent of the Idolatry that the Christ of Israel warned us about, sun worship, worshipping the sun god of the Antichrist Church, then we are more foolish than the people of Nineveh.

The time of the Crucifixion, and the time of the burial, and time of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, are the most important things we can know if we are to guard ourselves against worshipping a false christ, the christ of the Babylonian Sun Religion.

The Crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the God of Israel, are the most important events that ever occurred in the history of this world, so says the Apostle Paul. (1 Cor 15:14-20 KJV) "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. {15} Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. {16} For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: {17} And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. {18} Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. {19} If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. {20} But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept."

The sign that Jesus Christ gave that He was the Messiah of Israel, has been used by the Roman Catholic Church to deceive the people who want to follow the Christ of Israel, into thinking that it was the God of Israel who changed His 7th Day Rest to that of the Pagans Sun god, Sunday. By their false teaching they have persuaded God's People to commit Idolatry by worshipping their Sun god by keeping his day. We have this confession from their own Priests: Rev. John O'Brien, The Faith of Millions, pp. 421, 422, "But since Saturday, not Sunday, is specified in the Bible, isn't it curious that non Catholics who profess to take their religion directly from the Bible and not from the Catholic Church, observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Yes, of course, it is inconsistent, but the change was made about fifteen centuries before Protestantism was born… They have continued to observe custom even though it rests upon the authority of the Catholic Church, and not upon an explicit text in the Bible. That observance remains the reminder of the Mother Church from which non-Catholic sects broke away - like a boy running away from his mother but still carrying in his pocket a picture of his mother or a lock of her hair."

With all his deceptive powers, Satan has sought to confuse the teaching of the Christ of the Bible, about His crucifixion and His resurrection after three days and three nights. This confusion from the Catholics Churches has deceived their people and the people who call themselves by the Name of the God of Israel's, Christians, to worship the Sun god on his day. In the guise of an angel of light, Satan has introduce an inserted himself by every subtle and artful mean into the Catholic Church as their god, the god of everyone who follows the Roman Catholic Church. Satan introduced himself into the so-called Christian Church, by working through Pagan philosophers and false teachers. He has succeeded in blinding the eyes of the greatest majority of God's people. Satan has succeeded to gain the worship that belongs to the True Christ, to himself. They are worshipping the Sun-god, Baal, the god of the Pagan Babylonian Rome by keeping their Sun-day of Worship. They have forsaken the Christ of Israel who's Day of Worship is the 7th Day Sabbath. Exo 20:10 "But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God:"

Pagan festivals and feasts, such as Sun-day Worship, Lent, Holy Week, Good Friday, the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Feast of Mary, the Festival of All Saints and all Souls, along with Easter and Christ-Mass are now a part of Roman Christianity. In Sunday Christianity today, the whole scheme of salvation is hidden beneath a Mass of Pagan celebrations and rites. Christ preached against every one of these, and He destroyed His people Israel who practiced any form of Paganism in their worship towards Him. They even changed God's Rest Day to the Pagan Suns-day. (Exo 20:10 KJV) "But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God:

"The Sabbath Day is not a Jewish Rest Day, but God's Rest Day that God Himself Rested on and gave to Abraham and all his seed, both physical and Spiritual, to Rest on. Its the Sabbath Day of the God of Israel. Sunday is the rest day of the Babylonian Pagans Sun-god, Satan. The Day God Rested and the Day God's People are to Rests has been changed in the minds of the Gentiles who come to Jesus Christ through the Catholic Religion and her Protestant sisters. They know longer think that God still Rests on His own Sabbath, but on the Babylonian Sunday. They now teach that the Pagans Day of the Sun, is the New Rest Day for the God of Israel. This change to worship the God of Israel on Sunday instead of the Seventh Day Sabbath, has given the Sunday Christians the freedom to worship all the other Pagan gods and their holiday that honors the Sun-god.

The Babylonian Church of Roman does not even try to justify their changing God's Personal Sabbath Rest Day and the Sabbath of His People, to the Pagan Romans Sunday on the bases Christ rose on Sunday. Only Protestant Sunday Churches do that. Father T. Enright, C.S.S.R. in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas - also in History of the Sabbath p.802 said, "I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says : "No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.' And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church… It's the MARK of our authority to over-rule God's law." Rom 11:4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

All Sunday Worshippers are giving their approval to the of the Roman Churches attempt to change the Rest Day of the God of Israel from Sabbath to Sunday. They do this by still keeping the Roman Catholic's Sun Day Law that they made regarding the day Roman Christian are to Rest on. The openly reject the First Four Commandments God gave to His People, Israel, to teach them how not to live the same ungodly life of the Babylonians. The Sunday Christians have not repent of braking God's Holy Sabbath and of their Roman Idolatry of Sun Worship. They have not embracing the Religion of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus Christ who keep all of God's Holy Commandments.

(Dan 7:25 KJV) "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time." We must understand that the Antichrist of Rome can only think to change God's Seventh Day Sabbath of Rest from Sundown to Sundown on the 7th Day to a Pagan's rest on Sunday from 12 o'clock midnight to 12 o'clock midnight. (Mat 5:18-19 KJV) "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. {19} Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

(Jude 1:3-4 KJV) "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. {4} For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ."

To convince God's people in the Roman and Protestant Christian Church, to support the Babylonian Sunday worship instead of converting back to keeping the Seventh Day Sabbath of the God of Israel, Rome tells these people that Christ was crucified on Friday and was resurrected on Sunday. Even if Christ did raise on Sunday, there is no Commandment in the Bible telling God's People to convert to Sunday worship. (Rev 12:17 KJV) "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

The Christ of Israel rose at the end of the Sabbath. (Mat 28:1 KJV) "In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher." God's Sabbath Day is from sundown to sundown. The sun had not yet set, bring the 7th Day Sabbath to and end when the two Mary's was there. The time of the resurrection revealed here in God's Holy Word, is between 5:30 and 6 P.M. on the Sabbath Day . That would be Saturday Evening , our time, six hours before the Pagan Sunday starts at midnight. The Pagan Sun Day did not start tell 12 PM, six hours later. He rose seventy-two hours from the exact time He was placed in the Tomb on the Preparation Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, He was not found to be in His tomb. The Pagan's Sunday did not start tell six hours later.

The so called Christian Church of the Pagan Roman Empire through their lies, has given their people who now have the Bible, and who want to believe they are follow it, a justification for keeping of all the Roman Pagan's fasts, feasts, and festivals. The same ones the Pagans have observe from antiquity in honor of their Sun-god, Baal. In this way they have deceive the people who want to follow the God of Israel, into following and worshipping the Babylonian sun-god, Baal. All this time the Protestant Roman Christians think they have been following the True Christ, the Jewish Messiah, but in truth have been following their sun-god Baal. There is no scriptural evidence in the Bible to sustain the Sunday Churches believes. The Christ of the People of Israel demands His People, keep His Sabbath Holy, under the penalty of death. (John 8:24 KJV) "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."

The Christ of Israel was not crucified on Friday. Nor was the Christ of Israel resurrected on Sunday. There is not one word of proof that He was. Taking the Word of God as our only guide, we find that He was crucified on the fourth day (Wednesday) and resurrected on the 7th Day Sabbath, after remaining in the tomb three days and three nights. (Mat 12:39-40 KJV) "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: {40} For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

We shall try to prove that the statement of Jesus Christ is True and that He fulfilled every word He spoke. The Roman Churches use their false teaching on the resurrection to make a way for the people who want to follow the God of Israel, to justify their keeping the Pagan holidays. Christ-mass, Easter, Lent, Good Friday, Feast of the Holy Trinity, Feast of Corpus Christi, and their All Saints and all Souls night, are all the other Pagan ceremonies, fasts, feasts. Through the deceptions of this false teaching, the Roman Churches have caused the people who want to worship the true God, Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah, to worship Him the same way the Pagan's worship their Sun god.

The Scriptures should prove to you that Jesus Christ was crucified on Wednesday, the 4th day (Midst) of the week. To think that He as Christ did not fulfill His death as the Passover Lamb, in the exact same way and the exact same time that He command His People Israel to keep the Passover, would be unthinkable as it would brake the Word of God. If He as the Christ died on the 4th day, the midst of the Week, on Wednesday, the day before the Passover as the Passover Lamb, then Passover Sabbath would have to be on Thursday. Secular History and the Bible History teaches us the exact year that He was crucified. Daniel 9: gives us the Bible History that will give us the exact year that Christ was to be Anointed, AD 27. Add three and one half to that time and we have His death on the cross, AD 31. Add another three and one half years and the Nation was cut off as being God people when the stoned Stephen in 34 AD.

(Dan 9:24 KJV) "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." (Dan 9:26 TLB) "After this period of 434 years, the Anointed One will be killed, his kingdom still unrealized. . . and a king will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. Roman History also gives us the exact dates these event were fulfilled. As we all know, the Temple was destroyed in AD 70. The New Testament gives us the year Jesus was Anointed the Christ of God. It was in the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar. Luke 3:1-4. The 15th year of Tiberius Caesar was 15 years after AD. 12, when Tiberius begins to reign jointly with Augustus Caesar. (See any reliable history) The reign of Tiberius begins Oct. 23, AD. 12. He reigned jointly with Augustus for two years before Augustus death in AD. 14. Some count the beginning of Tiberius Caesar reign from the death of Augustus. Fifteen years after he began to reign jointly with Augustus in AD. 12, would bring us to AD. 27, not AD. 29.

Astronomy will prove that Christ was crucified on Wednesday March 28, AD 31. and that He was raised from the grave on our Saturday, March 31, before the Sun set.

The Year of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

It is an easy matter to determine the year of the crucifixion. One can do this by the records found in the Bible that use Roman History to pinpoint a certain that happened. We know when John baptized Jesus by these event in Roman History. One should not refer to dates in the marginal columns as proof as most of them are wrong. The common New Testament chronologies as to the death of Christ (found in the margins of the Bible), are not correct. It was merely assumed by Roger Bacon, in the thirteen centuries, and has ever since been accepted by our Bible Societies. The honest seeker after the truth demands proof, and not near assumption.

It is also freely conceded by most scholars and students of chronology, that Christ was born on or before the year of four AD. (Mat 2:1&3 KJV) "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, {3} When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him." Herod died in October of 4 AD. Jesus had to of been born before that date. The date for the beginning of the Christian era was set at a date several years after the birth of Jesus. The date was based on false reckoning, therefore we must let the Bible itself settle these matters.

We know positively from the Bible records, that John begin to preach and baptize in the spring of AD. 27. The proof is as following: It was in the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar. Luke 3:1-4. The 15th year of Tiberius Caesar was 15 years after AD. 12, when Tiberius begins to reign jointly with Augustus Caesar. (See any reliable history) The reign of Tiberius begins Oct. 23, AD. 12. He reigned jointly with Augustus for two years before Augustus death in AD. 14. Some count the beginning of Tiberius Caesar reign from the death of Augustus. Fifteen years after he began to reign jointly with Augustus in AD. 12, would bring us to AD. 27., not AD. 29.

John begin baptizing in the spring of that year, and Christ came to John in the fall of A. D. 27. The record: (Luke 3:21-23 KJV) "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, {22} And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. {23} And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Hell,"

According to Jewish law, 30 years was the legal age for ministry. (Num 4:3 KJV) "From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation." This accounts for the fact that neither John the Baptist, nor Jesus begin to preach until they had reached the age of thirty, and for this reason too, the Bible says very little on the life of Jesus or John, prior to that time.

Now with the date of Jesus Christ baptism firmly established as occurring in the fall of A. D. 27, by the Historical records of the death of Augustus Caesar in AD. 14. From the history

of the Caesar's, recorded in "THE ROMAN EMPERORS, A BIOGRAPHICAL GUIDE TO THE RULER'S OF IMPERIAL ROME. 31 BC - AD 476" we can know that Tiberius Caesar ruled jointly with Agustus for two years before his death in AD. 14, because Agustus was to sick to rule. (Luke 3:1-3 KJV) "Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, {2} Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. {3} And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;" Caesar begin to rule with Agustus Caesar in AD. 12. Fifteen years after Tiberius Caesar begin to reign, John baptized of Jesus. That year would be AD. 27. From these facts recorded in the Bible and in history, it is a very simple matter to locate the date of the death of Christ on the cross three and one half years later as being in the spring of A. D. 31. The Ministry of Jesus as the Christ was to last three and one half years. (Dan 9:27 KJV) "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease"---.

He ate His first Passover six months after he was baptized, in the spring of AD. 28. (John 5: 11-17). His second Passover was one year later, in the spring of AD. 29.-- (John 5:1-3). His third Passover was eaten one year later, in the spring of A. D.30, (John 6:1-4), and His fourth and last Passover were eaten one year later, in the spring of A. D. 31, (John 13:1-2). At that Passover, He was taken and crucified. This makes just 3 1/2 years from His baptism to His death on the cross.

Adding 3 1/2 years from the fall of A. D. 27, brings us to the spring of A. D. 31, the year that Jesus died on the cross.

To locate the year historically, attention is called to the darkness at that time of the crucifixion, which continued from the sixth to the ninth hour, or from noon until three o'clock. It was not an eclipse, as an eclipse of the sun could not last so long. Astronomical calculations show that the moon was full at that particular time of the crucifixion. It was the Passover, and that always occurred on the day following the first full moon after the spring equinox. This darkness was supernatural and was witnessed at Heliopolis in Egypt, according to Dr. Hale, by Dionysius the Areopagite, who afterwards became a convert to Christianity under the preaching of the Apostle Paul at Athens.-- (Acts 17:34)

"In the consulate of Tiberius Caesar Aug. V., and Elius Sejanus (U.C. 784, AD. 31) Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered, on the 8th of the Calends of April (25th of March); when there happened such an eclipse on the Sun as was never before nor since.' In this year and in this day agree also the Council of Caesarea A. D. 196 or 198; the Alexandrian Chronicle, Maxiums Monachus, Niceporus Constantinus Cedrenus; and in this year but on different days, concur Eusebius, Epipanius followed by Kepler, Bucher, Patinus and Petavius, some reckoning it the 10th of the Calends of April, others the 13th;" -- Hales Vol. 1, Page 69, 70.

We have now established the time of Jesus Christ's crucifixion as occurring in the spring of A. D. 31. We have first proven this fact from the New Testament alone, and then historical reference given in the foregoing quotations. There it must stand against all arguments of man.

Day Of The Crucifixion.

While the historical quotations given, absolutely agree as to the year of the crucifixion, there seems to be a disagreement as to the day of the month; yet all agree that it was either on the 8th, 10th, or 13th of the calends of April, which according to our reckoning, would be either the 25th, 27th or 30th day of March.

Now as to the day of the month, and the day of the week, of the crucifixion, we shall proceed to settle that question beyond a peradventure or doubt, and show as plain as day that Jesus Christ was crucified on Wednesday, the 28th of March, which was the 14th day of the Jewish month of Nisan, the day on which the Passover lamb was slain.

Not On Friday.

Dan 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice." Consider for a moment the illogical position of those who claim that Jesus died on the cross on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and that He was resurrected on Sunday morning, while it was still dark. This would make the time that Jesus was in the tomb less than 36 hours, or one full day of 24 hours and about 11 hours of another day. First of all, such a position is unwarranted by the plain record of the events found in the New Testament. Such a belief would make the Words of Jesus Christ to be a liar, for our blessed Savior said: (Mat 12:39-40 KJV) "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: {40} For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." He also said in Daniel 9:27 that He would cause the Sacrifice to occur on the midst (4th Day) of the week, our Wednesday.

John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; It is not wise or good logic to say "three days and three nights", is simply a figure of synecdoche, when Christ said that "the scriptures cannot be broken". part of three days and part three nights. In such a case, He would have left out the time and would simply have said, "so shall the Son of Man been in the heart of the earth," but instead of this He makes time the essence of His statement when He says," (Mat 12:40 KJV) "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Can one truly say from the statement Christ made about Jonas, that Jonas was only in the fish for thirty six hours? We also have the example of Lazarus in John Ch 11. Here we find that Jesus Christ waited four full days after Lazarus was in the grave before He came to resurrect him from the dead. (John 11:17 KJV) "Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already." Jesus did not come tell Lazarus's body was stinking. Why did He not come tell after four days? (John 11:39 KJV) "Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days." It was back again to the Jewish custom in those day, that a man was not confirmed to be dead tell he had been dead for three full days or his body had started to stink from decay. Jesus honored the customs of the Jews in regards to Lazarus's body when He raised him from the dead.

There should be no quibbling over what Christ meant. (Mat 4:4 KJV) "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." It is wrong to add to, or take away from, the words Christ spoke. His Words must stand. We cannot add the words; Parts of a Day. We cannot change them or He will take our name out of the Book of Life. (Rev 22:19 KJV) "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life,"---

Counting as you will, the whole transaction as to time, is thrown out of joint by those who claim that Christ was crucified on Friday afternoon and was resurrected on Sunday morning before it was light. Try the matter either way, (Crucifixion on Friday or Resurrection on Sunday) to harmonize with the words of Christ "So shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

If He was crucified on Friday, at 3 P.M. Than one day and one night would bring us to Saturday, 3 P.M. Two days and two nights would bring us to Sunday, at 3 P.M. Three days and three nights would bring us to Monday at 3 P.M.. In this case, Christ would not have been resurrected until after Monday afternoon at 3 P.M. If Christ was correct in His statement that the Son of Man should be "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth," How could Christ have been crucified on Friday?

Now try it the other way. If Christ was resurrected on Sunday morning before it was yet light, one day and one night before that time would be Saturday morning before it was light. Two days and two nights before would be Friday morning, before it was light; and three days and three nights would be Thursday morning, before it was day break. We know positively that Christ was crucified between the sixth and ninth hour, and that the darkness covered the earth from the sixth hour to the ninth hours. Using our time now, it would be from noon to three o'clock P. M., at which time He died; no matter which day of the week it was.

Should we grant that Christ died at three o'clock on Friday, and was resurrected before day-brake on Sunday, it gets still worse. It would be contradictory to the inspiration of God's Eternal Word; for from three o'clock P. M. on Friday until day-brake Sunday morning would be only one full day and a half at most. It is simply a question of truth or untruth. Shall we question the veracity of our Savior? Did Jesus tell the truth, when He said; "So shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth"? Are we willing to believe Christ or shall we follow Roman Catholic tradition? There seems to be something wrong with the view that claim that Christ was crucified on Friday and resurrected on Sunday. One's keeping of Good Friday, Easter and the so called sanctity of Sunday observance should not be relegated to the teachings of the Catholic Church. You should prove all things from God's Holy Word and live in His Truth. All Christians ought to obey the scriptural injunction, and say with the Apostle Paul: (Rom 3:4 NASB) "May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, "THAT THOU MIGHTEST BE JUSTIFIED IN THY WORDS, AND MIGHTEST PREVAIL WHEN THOU ART JUDGED."

Time Of The Passover

To prove which day of the week was the day of the crucifixion, it is necessary to understand several points as to the time of the Jewish Passover, and the mode of reckoning the days among the Jews in Bible times. It is also necessary to find in the scriptures of the Old Testament where it was written as to the Day He would cause the Sacrificial system to be abolished. Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,

It is a well known fact that Christ was crucified on the Jewish Passover. (Mat 26:2 NASB) "You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be delivered up for crucifixion."

The 14th day of the Jewish month of Nisan was the Passover feast day. It was also the preparation day for the feast of unleavened bread that fell on the fifteenth day of the same month and was a High Day Sabbath, in which all servile work was prohibited. The day following this (the 16th of Nisen) was the wave sheaf offering. (Lev 23:4-12 NASB) "'These are the appointed times of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at the times appointed for them. {5} 'In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD'S Passover. {6} 'Then on the fifteenth day of the same month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. {7} 'On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work. {8} 'But for seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.'" {9} Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, {10} "Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, 'When you enter the land which I am going to give to you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring in the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest. {11} 'And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD for you to be accepted; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. {12} 'Now on the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb one year old without defect for a burnt offering to the LORD."

Coming as they did on specified days of the month, it must be clear that these feast days fell on different days of the week each year, year by year. An example of this is the times the Passover came on different years.

AD. 20, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Wen so Passover was on Friday. that year.

AD. 24, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Wen so Passover was on Friday. that year.

AD. 27, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Wen so Passover was on Friday. that year.

AD. 28, the first full moon after equinox fell on Mon. so Passover was on Wen.. that year.

AD. 29, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Sun. so Passover was on Tues. that year.

AD. 30, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Thr. so Passover was on Sat. that year.

* AD. 31, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Tues. so Passover was on Thu that year. *

AD. 32, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Mon. so Passover was on Wen. that year.

AD. 33 the first full moon after the equinox fell on Fri. so Passover was on Sun. that year.

AD. 34, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Tues., so Passover was on Thu that year.

AD. 35, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Mon. so Passover was on Wen. that year. AD. 36, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Fri., so Passover was on Sun. that year.

AD. 37, the first full moon after the equinox fell on Thr. so Passover was on Sat. that year.

There are only two year given to us by the US. NAVEL OBSERVATORY. and the British Astronomer Royal, where Christ could have been crucified on Friday, put in the tomb before sunset that day with Saturday being a Passover High Day of the Jews. Those two years would be AD. 30. and AD. 37.

There are only three years given to us by the US. NAVEL OBSERVATORY and the British Astronomer Royal, where Christ could have been crucified on Thursday for a Friday Passover Sabbath. Those three years are AD. 20, AD. 24, and AD. 27.

There are only two years given to us by the US. NAVEL OBSERVATORY. and the British Astronomer Royal, where Christ could have been crucified on Wednesday, put into the tomb before Thursdays High Day Passover Sabbath with a work day in between for the woman to buy and prepare the spices and then Rest according to the Seventh Day Sabbath. Those two years are AD. 31, and AD. 34. To use any other year for the Crucifixion than AD. 31, you have to prove the Bible Scriptures were wrong. (Mark 16:1 NASB) "And when the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him." You would have to prove Roman and Bible History wrong as well.

Luke 3:1 "Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar,". The following quote is taken from the Book "History of Rome" , "TIBERIUS THE POLITICIAN." page 63. "The collapse of the faction of Julia and Agrippa had finally made it possible to give the sons of Tiberius unusual, and equivalent privileges. Tiberius own proconsular Imperium was still limited, probably to the Gaul's or to provinces which he had occasion to enter. It was not until at the eventual celebration of the triumph on 23 October, AD. 12, that all territorial limitations was removed. A consular law of 13 made Tiberius's power equal to that of Agustus and provided that they should conduct a census together, using their consular imperium." When we add the 15 years Tiberius ruled after he begin to CO-rule with Agustus Caesar in AD. 12, we have the year AD. 27. That is the year John baptized Jesus according to the Holy Scriptures. Add three and one half after that would make the year of crucifixion AD. 31. If you use the date of Agustus Caesar's death as the starting point to add 15 years to, to find the date of crucifixion, you come to the year AD. 33. In AD. 33, the first full moon after the spring equinox fell on a Friday, so Passover was on Sun. that year. To prove that the year AD. 31 is wrong, you also have to prove that both the Jews and the US. NAVEL OBSERVATORY, in WASHINGTON, DC were wrong in their Astronomical calculations of the spring equinox to find the Jewish Passover Day.

To prove that AD. 31, is wrong, you must pick a year between AD. 27 and AD. 37, as the date of the crucifixion and prove it to be right according to the Bible, History, and Astronomical calculations of the spring equinox by the US. NAVEL OBSERVATORY, in WASHINGTON, D.C..

The year of Christ's crucifixion the Passover fell on Wednesday and the High Day Sabbath (15th of Nisen) fell on Thursday, hence Friday was the day of the Wave Sheaf Offering, as well as the seventh Day Sabbath. This would make two of the Jewish feast days and the Seventh Day Sabbath come together in one week to bring two Sabbaths Days in the same week. They are; Thursday, the High Day Sabbath (Feast of Unleavened Bread), and the Seventh Day Sabbath (Saturday), which was the Sabbath of the Lord, their God. Understanding this, all well be clearly seen and explained as we proceed.

Next, it must be understood that the days with the Jews begin at Sunset and ended at Sunset, as the following scripture proves. (Neh 13:19 NASB) "And it came about that just as it grew dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and that they should not open them until after the Sabbath. Then I stationed some of my servants at the gates that no load should enter on the Sabbath day." Moses said to the children of Israel: (Lev 23:32 NASB) "It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall humble your souls; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening you shall keep your Sabbath."

In the New Testament we also have proof of this, as the Jews brought their sick to Christ to be healed after the Sabbath.. (Mark 1:32 NASB) "And when evening had come, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed."

Located By Astronomical Calculation.

It should also be understood that the Jewish religious mouths all begin with the new moon and their religious year began in the spring, while their civil year began in the fall, and was a solar year made up of 30 days to the month.

The Jewish Passover always came on the 14 day of the month of Nisen, and that day was, in every case the day following the night of the full moon. In Smith's Bible Dictionary, we read these words: "The cycle of religious feasts, commencing with Passover depended not simply on the month, but on the moon; the 14th day of Adib (Nisen) was coincident with full moon."

To count the time of the Passover in any year since its institution, it is only necessary to locate the day following the night of the first full moon after the vernal or spring equinox, which occurs on March 21st our time, and we have the 14th day of Nisen, the day of the slaying of the Passover Lamb, and also the day of the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The following report from the British Astronomer Royal, given by Mr. Hollis, in which he says that the Paschal full moon in A. D. 31, occurred on Tuesday night, March 27th. This Report from the British Astronomer Royal, agrees perfectly with the Report from the US NAVEL OBSERVATORY, in WASHINGTON, D.C..

38 April 8th Tuesday 6 P.M.

It will be observed from the above, that in the year of Christ's crucifixion (AD. 31), the moon was full on the night of Tuesday, March 27th, and consequently the day following this was Wednesday, March 28th, which answers to the 14th day of Nisen, the day on which our Lord was crucified. The following letter from the United States Naval Observatory, Washington, confirms the above.

There is nothing surer than that Christ was crucified on Wednesday, for the Sun and Moon are God's great clocks, set in the heavens, He Himself, said: (Gen. 1:14 NASB) "Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years."

"To show the accuracy and value of astronomical calculations, it may be said that this is the way that all ancient historical and Biblical data are verified. The great cannon of Ptolemy, on which all Old Testament chronology is based, gets its reliability from the fact that astronomical calculations agree with it." Prideaux says in Vol. 1, Page 242:

"But Ptolemy's cannon being fixed by the eclipses, the truth of it may at any time be demonstrated by astronomical calculations, and no one hath ever calculated those eclipses, but hath found they fall right in the times where placed; and therefore this brings the surest guide which we have in the chronology, and it being also verified elsewhere with the Holy Scripture, it is not the authority of any other human's writing whatsoever to be receded from."

Therefore we can safely rest on the astronomical calculations given, as reliable and true, and especially so because it only serves to strengthen the truth of God's Word in the Bible. This truth clarifies some passages that may seem ambiguous.

Wednesday, March 28th, A. D. 31, is the day and date of Christ's crucifixion. So much, at least, is settled beyond even the shadow of doubt.

No Contradiction

The Bible is the inspired Word of the Most High God. There is not a contradiction in it. Man's interruptions of God's Word make it appear to contradict itself. The claim that Jesus was crucified on Friday at 3 P.M., is not only unreasonable, but makes the Bible texts clash. By that interruption, Mark and Luke's statements recorded in the Bible about the Crucifixion are placed in a position where they contradict each other. Note please, the fact that Mark tells us that the spices were bought after the Sabbath. (Mark 16:1-2 NASB) "And when the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. {2} And very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen." The KJV rendering has this, "had bought," but the word "had" is not found in the original, nor in any up-to-date translation.

Luke's statement tells us that they were prepared on the day before the 7th Day Sabbath. (Luke 23:54-56 NASB) "And it was the preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. {55} Now the women who had come with Him out of Galilee followed after, and saw the tomb and how His body was laid. {56} And they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment." (Luke 24:1-3 NASB) "But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared. {2} And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, {3} but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus."

In these Scriptures we find that they prepared the spices on the preparation day for the feast of unleavened bread, before the 7th Day Sabbath began according to the forth Commandment. How can one put these two scriptures together without making the Word of God go against itself? Mat 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." If one insists that Christ was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday before day light, ask yourself -- How could the woman buy the spices after the High Day Sabbath found in the Feast of Unleavened Bread, than rest for the balance of the day, and then keep the 7th Day Sabbath in the 4th Commandment, unless there was two Sabbaths in that week as stated between Mark's and Luke's statements?

It is unthinkable how these texts can be reconciled, except from the self-evident point of view that Christ was crucified on Wednesday, the preparation day for the Passover Sabbath. The women rested on the Passover Sabbath, (Thursday). After the Passover Sabbath was over they went and bought the spices on Friday the day after the Passover Sabbath. They prepared the Spices the same day, (Friday) which was the preparation day for the "Sabbath according to the Commandment". That would make Mark and Luke's statements harmonies. This could never be done when in forcing the false teachings of the Roman Church, that Jesus Christ was crucified on Friday.

An High Day Sabbath.

Having proven that Christ was crucified on Wednesday the 14th Day of Nisan, we must ask the reader not to overlook the fact that the day following the slaying of the Passover Lamb was a High Day Sabbath among the Jews.

(Exo 23:14-15 KJV) "Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year. {15} Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty". (Lev 23:5-7 KJV) "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's Passover. {6} And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. {7} In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein." (Lev 23:31-32 KJV) "Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. {32} It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath."

It was the Day of Unleavened Bread, and was observed as a Sabbath Day. It was called a "Sabbath" and followed the Passover feast day it naturally fell on a Thursday that year, which was the Day following the crucifixion. This is proven by the fact that John calls the Day on which Jesus lay in the tomb "an High Day", Not the text: (John 19:31 KJV) "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was an high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."

There need be no question in the mind of the seeker of truth, if one will study the references to the feast of the Passover, and the day following it, in the 12th Chapter of Exodus, and in the 23rd Chapter of Leviticus. No matter which day of the week the 15th day of Nisan (the day following the Passover) fell upon, it was always a "High Day Sabbath", separated, and apart from God's 7th Day Sabbath.

On the day of the slaying of the Paschal Lamb (14th of Nisan), also called the Passover day, the Jews were required to prepare for the days following. (Day of unleavened Bread or High Day Sabbath.) They had to put all leaven out of their houses and thoroughly cleaning their utensils. They had to put their house in order for the feast. The Jews' preparation day, was for the Day of Unleavened Bread, called the High Day Sabbath.

Now we have showed that the Christ was crucified on Wednesday, the day of the killing of the Paschal Lamb. It must be noted that the day of the crucifixion was also the preparation day for the High Day Sabbath. Jesus had to be off the cross and in the Tomb by Sun down or the people would defile themselves by working on the High Day Sabbath. Friday, the day they prepared for the Lord's Personal Seventh Day Sabbath, was never called the Jew's preparation day. God had no preparation Day for His 7th Day Sabbath. Read Gen. (Gen. 2:2 KJV) "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made." God finished His Work and Rested on the same Day, the 7th Day. The day of Christ's crucifixion, which we have shown to have been on Wednesday, was distinctly called, not simply the preparation day, but "The Jews Preparation Day)."

(John 19:42 KJV) "There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand."

If there are any who still think that the "Jews' preparation day" and the day they prepared for the 7th Day Sabbath are the same, the Bible will soon clear away all doubt, if we are only willing to believe what is written therein. All one needs to do to prepare for the 7th Day Rest is to stop working. Indeed, we need not speculate in regards to the day of Christ's crucifixion and as to which preparation day it was, for John tells us plainly, in these words; (John 19:14 KJV) "And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!"

What the Jewish High Priests did on the day following the crucifixion of Christ is also proof positive that it was not the Seventh Day Sabbath, They were great sticklers for the strictest kind of keeping the Lord's Rest Day. Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: --. The Seventh Say Sabbath is not the Jews Sabbath, but the Lord's Sabbath Day. God's law forbids traveling more than three quarters of a mile on His Sabbath Day. However it was recorder that on the Sabbath Day following the crucifixion, the Priests went to Pilate and begged for a guard to be sent to watch the sepulcher. This was permissible on their Passover Sabbaths, but not on the Lords 7th Day Sabbath. This fact alone should proves that the day following the crucifixion was the Passover Sabbath and not the regular weekly Sabbath of God's Rest.

Besides all this, Matthew called that day the "NEXT DAY that followed the day of preparation" (Mat 27:62 KJV) "Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate," A term that he would never have applied to the Lord's Sabbath Day.

We hope we have now showed beyond doubt, and without fear of successful contradiction, that the first Sabbath Day following the crucifixion that Christ was in the tomb, was not the Seventh Day Sabbath, but the Passover High Day Sabbath. In AD. 31, Thursday was the Jewish High Day Sabbath or the day of unleavened bread. It following the Passover day and slaying of the Paschal lamb. The Lord's Sabbath is always on the 7th Day.

The Hour Of The Day.

Having now definitely located the day of the crucifixion of our Lord as Wednesday, March 28th, AD. 31, and having done this by the Bible, History, and Astronomy, there should be no room for quibbling. If any are still disposed to question these facts, they have every opportunity to check up the various references given, which are accessible to anyone who have enough interest to prove all thing from the Bible to see if these things they teach are so. It is not just a matter of finding the Truth, but a matter of finding out if you are truly serving the God of Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ. He said He would be in the Tomb Three Days and Three Nights. If you are not serving Christ, the God of Israel, than you are serving Baal, the god of Babylon. If you are serving Baal, remember that there is no Election by Grace for you, as you are bowing your knee to Baal. Its a matter of Life or Death. To be judged of God as served Baal at ones death, brings a second death from Him. To be free from Baal worship, brings the "Election of Grace" from God to save that individual. (Rom 11:4-5 KJV) "But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. {5} Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."

We now come to the question as to the time of day, or the hour that marked the death of the Jesus Christ. It is our intention to prove from the Bible that Jesus was nailed to the cross about the sixth hour of the day, answering to twelve o'clock A.M., our time. That Jesus died about the ninth hour of the day, answering to our three o'clock P.M. our time, which was the time of the offering of the daily evening sacrifice. He was our Passover, the Lamb of God offered for us, and in order to fulfill the type, He hung upon the cross at the specific time specified for the offering of the Paschal Lamb by the People of God.

To understand this, it is necessary to make a close comparison of the divisions of the Jewish Day, which our system of reckoning by hours of equal length. There is not the least thing complicated about it, and by following the Bible alone, the whole question solves itself.

(Mat 20:3-6 KJV) "And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, {4} And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. {5} Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. {6} And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?"

In the record found in Matthew 20: 1-12, of the house holder, it is plainly evident that Jesus reckoned twelve hours to a DAY. exclusive, of course, of the night, which as every New Testament scholar knows was reckoned by watches. (Mat 14:25 KJV) "And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea."

The term "day" according to the Bible stands for both the natural and artificial. The natural day is the solar day of twenty four hours, and was reckoned from sunset to sunset, while the artificial day had reference only to the light part of the natural day, beginning at sunrise and ending at sunset. The first hour began at the rising of the sun, and the sixth hour was always noon, while the twelfth hour was sun set. All of this is made plain by our Lord in the quotation given in Mat. 20:1-12.

The Passover coming on the first full moon after the Spring or Vernal Equinox when the days and nights were equal, made the day, at that time of year, beginning at six o'clock A.M., which they called the beginning of the first hour. This would make nine o'clock the third hour, twelve o'clock the sixth hour and three o'clock the ninth hour, and six o'clock P.M. the twelve hour. According to three gospel writers, Jesus hung upon the cross at least from the sixth to the ninth hour, or according to our time, from noon to three o'clock in what we call the afternoon, at which time He died.

(Mat 27:45-46 KJV) "Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. {46} And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Mat 27:50 "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost." (Luke 23:44-46 KJV) "And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. {45} And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. {46} And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost." From these Scriptures, we know the hour Jesus Died on the cross. The ninth hour or three o'clock in the afternoon.

The Jews had also another division for the artificial day (the light part of the day). All the time from sunrise tell noon they called morning, and from noon to sunset was called their first evening, while they called the whole time of the twilight or from sunset till night, their second evening.

In all the events of the suffering and death of Christ, type met the anti-type. The Passover Lamb was offered between the two evenings. (Exo 12:6 KJV) "And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening." That is between twelve o'clock noon and dark, and had we no definite statement as to the hour of His death, we might set the time anywhere from noon till night, but having the statement of three of the gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, and Like, that he died at the ninth hour (Three o'clock P.M.) , we can safely rest on their words, and know, too, that He died at the very time that the Jewish Passover lamb was offered. Says Paul:

"Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us."

The Resurrection On The Sabbath.

Now, then, we have left no room for argument against the fact that Christ died at three o'clock on Wednesday, March 28, AD., 31, we shall next proceed to study the day of the resurrection, which one can already see, did not occur on Sunday.

The one self-evident fact that stands out in the first verses of the Bible, and that is that the Sabbath is the day before the first day of the week. The Sabbath, and Sunday, or the seventh day of the week, and the first day of the week are not the same.

Another self-evident fact, as before stated, not only proven by the Bible and History, but also by the traditions of the Jews, is that the day according to the Bible begins at sunset and ends at sunset. (Lev 23:32 KJV) "It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath."

Christ was crucified on the Jewish Passover, which came at the time of the first full moon after the vernal equinox, when the days and nights were equal; hence sunset occurred at about six o'clock, and the dividing line between that particular Sabbath and the first day of the week following, mentioned in Matthew 28:1, was about six o'clock. P.M. The Sabbath ended at six o'clock and the first day of the week began at six o'clock in the evening. The Babylonian Sunday does not begin tell midnight.

With the above facts in mind, we are ready to proceed to the study of what Matthew says of the time of Christ's resurrection. The King James Bible reads as follows; (Mat 28:1 KJV) "In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn (grow dusk) toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher." The American, and English Revised Version, reads; "Now late on the Sabbath as it began to dawn towards the first day of the week."

Both of these renderings show that the Sabbath had not yet passed when these women came to the sepulcher. The Greek word rendered "dawn" in this text is "epiposko" and is the same word rendered "drew on" in Luke 23:54 is the Greek work diougase. "And that day was the preparation, and the Sabbath drew on." It does not mean, and can by no means be twisted to mean, the dawning of the morning light. or morning, as found in the Bible. 2 Pet 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: The Greek word orthros is also translated "morning or early dawn" as in John 8:2. and Acts 5:21. The created days in the Bible all begin with darkness. Therefore a new day in the Bible always dawns at sunset. To the Pagan Sun worshippers, a new day begin at Sun up.

It is certain that as long as it dawned toward, or drew on "TOWARD" the first day of the week, that day had not yet come. Aside from this fact, the text itself

tells us that the events there occurred "in the end of" or "late on the Sabbath" as the Revised Version has it. In either case we have the positive statement that it was still the Sabbath when the women came to the sepulchre

Therefore the one outstanding fact that appears in Matthew. 28:1 is that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to the sepulchre some time before six o'clock on Sabbath (Saturday) afternoon, and what follows makes it as clear as day that Jesus had already risen before they came to the sepulchre. (Mat 28:2 KJV) "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it." If Jesus rose anytime before Sun up, He did not rise on their Sunday. Our present way of counting a day from midnight to mid-might did not exist. That day was created when the modern calendar was developed. In the Roman Empire at the time of Christ, the Pagan's week begin with Monday, not Sunday.

Conclusion.

It was that part of the Universal Pagan Church in the Rome Empire that changed the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, from His Sabbath Day of Rest to the Pagans Day of Rest on Sunday. They do not, and cannot give the Bible credit for such teachings as they are not found in the Jewish Bible. It was by their authority as the official church of Rome, that they changed the Sabbath from the 7th Day to the Pagan Sunday. Therefore they readily admit to changing it themselves. They claim that they are the source of most of the teaching and all the Holidays that the Protestant Churches follow. The sad thing about this is, they are. Name one Holiday that the Protestant Churches keep that does not have it' origin in Roman Paganism. You can't.

The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p.50 3rd edition says, "Question –

Which is the Sabbath Day? Answer – Saturday is the Sabbath Day. Question – Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Answer – We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."

Letter from C.F. Thomas, October 28, 1895, "Of course the Catholic Church claims

the change was her act… And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and

authority in religious matters."

Catholic Record, "Sunday is our MARK of authority… The Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact."

Decretal De Translat. Episcop. Cap., "The Pope has power to change times, to

abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ."

(Dan 7:25 KJV) "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

Other Witnesses that all do not believe in the Sunday resurrection.

Writing in Etcrrzity magazine, its editor, Donald Grey Barnhouse, said: "I personally have always held that there were two Sabbaths in our Lord's last week--- the Saturday Sabbath and the Passover Sabbath, the latter being on Thursday. They hastened to take his body down after a Wednesday crucifixion and he was three days and three nights (at least 72 hours) in the tomb." He cites evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls which would place the Last Supper on Tuesday. Not all tradition has favored a Friday crucifixion. He quotes from a Roman Catholic journal published in France that "an ancient Christian tradition, attested to by the Didascalia Apostolorum as well as by Epiphanius and Victorinus of Pettau (died 304) gives Tuesday evening as the date of the Last Supper and prescribes a fast for Wednesday to commemorate the capture of Christ."

In his book Bible Questions Answered, W. L. Pettingill, gives this question and answer: "On what day of the week was our Lord crucified? To us it is perfectly obvious that crucifixion was on Wednesday." The Companion Bible, published by Oxford University Press, in its Appendix 156 explains that Christ was crucified on Wednesday.

In his Duke's Annotated Reference Bible, Finis Dake has said in his note on Matthew 12:40: "Christ was dead for three full days and for three full nights. He was put in the grave Wednesday just before sunset and was resurrected at the end of Saturday at sunset No statement says that He was buried Friday at sunset. This would make him in the grave only one day and one night, proving his own words untrue."

(2) (Exo 20:1-11 KJV) "And God spake all these words, saying, {2} I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. {3} Thou shalt have no other gods before me. {4} Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: {5} Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; {6} And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. {7} Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. {8} Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. {9} Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: {10} But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: {11} For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." END.
