TRUTH
Jesus is the way.
John
14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me. (NIV)
Jesus is the Word.
John1:14 The Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the
One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (NIV)
The Word of God
is truth.
Ps
119:160 All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.
(NIV)
The Word makes
you free.
John
8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you
continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The Holy Spirit
will guide you into all truth.
John
16:13 When the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
The devil is the
father of lies.
John
8:44 You are of the father the devil, and the lusts of your father
you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the
truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh
of his own; for
his is a liar, and the father of it.
How do I resist
the devil? How do I resist lies?
Jas
4:6-12 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth
the proud, but giveth unto te humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will
draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts,
you double minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of
the Lord and he will lift you up.
Definition of humble:
(1) Showing respect
(2) To destroy
pride
(3) Submit yourself
to God
(4) Yield or surrender
oneself to the will or authority of God
(5) To agree with
what God says
When we disagree with the Word
of God, we are in pride. When we are in a state of pride, we seperate
ourselves from the authority of God in our life, thus causing us to fall.
In order to resist the devil or the father of lies, we have to humble ourselves
to God by agreeing with what His Word says.
If we say that we are not worth
anything, then we are in pride, because God says in His Word that we were
worth so much to Him that He sent His only begotten son to the cross to
die for the remission of our sins.
The scripture in James also
tells us to draw near to God. This is done through prayer and through praise
and worship. God inhabits our praises. We enter into the gates of praise
with a thankful heart and as we praise and worship God with a heart of
love, we draw near to God.
James tells us not to be double-minded.
Doublemindedness is unbelief. The only way to rid ourselves of unbelief
is to meditate on the Word of God and to be led by the Holy Spirit into
all truth. As we humble ourselves or
surrender to God's Word and God's Will, we are set free as the truth
becomes a part of us. The Word of God delivers us.
The Word of God
sets us free.
2Pet
1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of
God, and of Jesus our Lord.
