This is me…

Here are some boring facts about me:

My real name's Charlie…

Born: 19 November 1973 in Lewisham, South London, England. I went to school first in London, then at Charterhouse, near Godalming in Surrey. I went up to Imperial College, London, in 1992 to study Zoology, and came away with a B.Sc. As a result of the peculiar structure of the university I am also an Associate of the Royal College of Science, and was President of the RCS student union for a year. Now I'm living and working in Cyprus.

I have many hobbies and interests, mainly because I want to try everything… but my main interests are nature and (as a result) SCUBA diving, as well as a bit of computing… I love travelling as well…

Books: I'm a voracious reader, and love science fiction… My favourite authors are Iain Banks and David Brin, but I'm pretty partial to the odd techno-thriller (Tom Clancy) or anything really…

Comics: If you haven't, read Watchmen by Alan Moore, and if you think comics are for kids, that'll change your mind…

Films and TV: Sci-fi again, I'm afraid… Jim Cameron, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas rule… (Although, weirdly, my favourite Spielberg film is Jaws… Go figure.) I'm not a Trekker though… I enjoy the X-files and Babylon 5… And any science program…

Pets: I have a rat called Ripley and a cat called Trouble. See Ripley HERE. Isn't she cute?

Music: I like most music, not too sure about country or jazz, but most rock, indie and dance falls into my sphere… Pink Floyd and Marillion are probably the most featured artists in my collection, Jean Michel Jarre too… And a lot of groups represented by one album…

I like sports, I cycle, and I play darts for a local team… We're currently a safe 3rd position in the League…

Oh, and I LOVE English beer… *smile* Yum…

So that's me…
