When Cars were built right
Back in the 50s American was in its industrial prime. A
Heterosexual family with 4.2 children was the normal. People had
pride in their country, family and what they built. The
automotive industry was a competive industry and all the
companies were attempting to build the better car. As we look at
the construction of these early vehicles we saw they started off
with a firm chassis. A top the frame was a beautifully hand
sculpted body, from clay, then redone in solid steel panels.
Hidden beneath the exterior was an impressive V-8 motor. Enough
power to pass on the highway and reliable enough to start in cold
weather. These cars were built with integrity and were made to
last. Today we see a poor imitation of what was once the heart of
the automobile. Now cars are built without a frame. Low quality
steel, with synthetic materials replace the body. Oh yes, they
look good from the factory, but in a few years look at its
appearance. And yes, the V-8 motor is replace by a V-6 that
cannot function without the aid of computer technology. And we
have all seen, how trustworthy computers are. Would we even
purchase the vehicles if they didnt come with a substantial
warrantee? Christians also have gone through a change throughout
time. Christians once where build with a strong chassis, the word
of God. An outward appearance of love and compassion was visibly
present in their Christian walk. And hidden beneath the flesh was
the Power of the Holy Spirit. The test proven power that created
the world, and resurrected the Christ. These Christians were
built to last. They were built to survive the fiery trials. Today
Christians are looking back at the vintage Christian. They see
the Word, the love and the power of God in action, but they dont
want to go through the same building processes that the classic
Christians did. We are guilty of looking for the easy way out,
the quick buck and the free lunch. Young Christians dont want the
chassis of God, the body of Christ, or the power of the Holy
Spirit, because the building process takes reading, sacrifice and
prayer. Let us gain wisdom. Lets us submit ourselves to the
building process of integrity, the ways of old. Let us build our
chassis by reading the bible. Let us mold our body with proper
Christian lifestyles, and let us live in the power of the Holy
Ghost through prayer. Dont live the imitation Christian life. It
will be fun for awhile, but it wont endure. The faults will
become visible through the pot holes and detours in life. Wake up
and grasp this truth. Build yourselves properly, by allowing God
to build you. Dont settle for second quality. God makes quality
proven products. Be one of them.
