Alabama Jacks
Downtown Cardsound,
Key Largo
This place is near and dear to our pirate hearts!
Hidden location, great for pirates, one can
row the dinghy right up to the bar.
Open air, lots of tables and seats at the
bar. WWII vintage airplane decor.
As you enjoy the best tastin' seafood ever,
you can watch boats plow the channel, and if
lucky, catch a view of a manatee or two.
Kiddies can feed the fish, and watch the gulls
try to get to the tidbits first. A feeding
frenzy if ever there was one!
All types of seafood are served, as well as
burgers, fries, etc. The Lady Pirate
recommends the Conch Fritters, best ones found
on the entire
globe! Seafood platter for 4 is $40
and loaded with goodies!
Beer is ice cold! Sodas are available,
as well as tea, for the
designated driver, you poor thing, you.
Known as a biker bar,
don't let this put you off. As you know,
most bikers are very nice people,
and on any day, you will also see Beemers,
Mercedes, SUVs in the parking
lot and families bring their kids. Very
crowded on Sunday, as the local C&W band is playing, and people
are kicking up their heels. Get up and
dance if the spirit moves you! Not a place to be shy.
Sunday expect 30-40 minutes wait on your food.
But such a great place, you don't mind!
Other days, C&W is piped in. They
have been in business over 70 years, and do things
their way, which is not a bad way at all!
Open 7 days a week, 11 am to 7pm. After
7pm the Everglades mosquitos take over!
(insect repellant is available, ask
the waitress)
Most entrees under $10.00
Alabama Jack clothing and hats are available.
Service is great, with friendly waitresses.
Restrooms are very nice and clean.
Lots of parking, if lot is full, park on other
side of road, at an angle. We suggest using
the hand brake, so you don't accidentally
roll into the swamp!
US1 south, or Fla. Turnpike south to Florida
City. Turn left onto Card
Sound Road. (clearly marked) Go
about 6-8 miles into the wilderness,
Alabama Jack's is on the right, before the
toll booth for the Card
Sound Bridge.
