Everyone knows that kryptonite is deadly to superman right? But how many know that this weakness origionated in the radio show? There are also many characters that served as sidekicks, friends, and co-workers and just about any relationship that you can think of. Jimmie Olsen and Perry White are just two of the more well known characters.
Though created only the year before buy Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, Superman made his way to radio and into the hearts and minds of thousands in 1940.
One interesting side note:Though we were offically at war with Japan, and Superman quite often went after Jap Agents, Emperor Hirahitio was a fan of the show.
Even though he didn't have his own show, the Batman and his trusty sidekick Robin the boy wonder were able to aide Superman on several of his more difficult adventure's.
