Scarlet O'Hara is my favorite character and no one but Vivien Liegh can potray her. Vivien brought the character from the book to life when other young actresses weren't good enough. Producer Daid Selznick needed someone who could give Scarlet a indefinable essence all her own someone who could pull hte character from the pages of the book to the screen. Vivien Liegh did just that making Scarlet an unforgettable woman.

I admire Scarlet because she knew what she wanted from life and she did what she wanted. Although most her actions were for her own purpose she did help others. Even though she loved Ashley and hated Melanie, Scarlet stayed with Melanie and helped her through hte birth of her son. She may have married her sister's beau, but didn't she save her family from starvation? Scarlet worked hard to save her beloved Tara.

Maybe I'm just a fool but Scarlet O'Hara is a role model to me. I admire her strength and her ability to keep calm in bad situations.
