The Galaxy Inmarsat-C/GPS™ Land Mobile was the first commercial product to fully integrate two-way satellite communications with GPS location data to create a seamless mobile asset tracking solution that works anywhere in the world.
This flagship product is used by commercial fleet and long-haul trucking operations to schedule, manage, and track trucks and cargo. With Inmarsat-C's robust global communications satellites, the system can send and receive location data and text messages anywhere in the world, in any weather.
The system can be configured to automatically report position and status at specified times or intervals, and fleet operators can also poll specific vehicles or entire fleets for the same information. Mobile users send messages via fax, email, TELEX, PSTN or PSDN. GPS position and time data can be sent separately or appended to an Inmarsat-C communication.
