Not only does The Freedom Sessions include some kick-ass
multimedia, but you will find great alternate versions of songs from Fumbling
as well. These versions were too interesting to be thrown out, so
a little over a year after the release of Fumbling Towards Ecstasy,
the gang got together to jam, record, and film the material included on
The Freedom Sessions. To Sarah, the versions on this album
are "reminders of where the songs started and of the various paths [the
band] wandered down to discover their identities." In addition to
the extensive multimedia presentation and insightful songs, The Freedom
Sessions features an ad-libbed, yet snazzy cover of Tom Waits' Ol'
55. This album is a must for Sarah McLachlan fans who never tire
of her multifaceted talent.
