Konnichi wa, minna-san! Thank you for reading my fanfic. Now, I warn you, this is my first attempt at writing a fanfic, so be warned! This fic takes place just before the Moon Kingdom's destruction, and picks up later after the S season. My tip is to sorta forget the SuperS ever happened. =) For reference, Silver Star and Silver Moon were created by me, and have no affiliation with the original Sailor Moontm series. And I have no affiliation, nor claim any, with the original anime/manga!

Part 1: Takano & Amber

.............Princess Serenity, daughter of Queen Serenity, ruler of the Moon Kingdom, fidgeted as she waited for the reception to begin. She felt her mother's eyes one her, and looked up, seeing slight disapproval there. She straightened up quickly under the glance, and silently followed her mother into the main hall, where dozens of Moon citizens were waiting for them. She saw her beloved Prince Endymion standing near to where she and her mother had stopped, and gave him a faint smile, which he returned.
.............The quiet chatter which had so filled the chamber before them now ceased as Queen Serenity cleared her throat. "My loyal citizens," she said. "We have gathered here today to welcome a new member to our fair Court. May I present the princess, and heir, of the planet Aquila." She held her hand towards the main doors, which opened as if given a silent command. A young girl, wearing a beautiful light purple gown, stood in the door, the gentle candlelight accenting her mauve hair, which was tied in a high ponytail that fell to just her ankles, tied periodically with two silver bands at three different intervals down it's length, She took a tentative step, and then another, into the room, slowly approaching the outstretched hand of Queen Serenity. Once she grasped the offered hand, she stepped up beside the queen and faced the crowd of people, a gentle smile on her face, trying to hide her nervousness. "Welcome, Princess Takano," Queen Serenity said formally. "I invite you to live in our fair Kingdom, and to enjoy it's beauty while you can."
.............Takano turned to the queen. "I shall, Queen Serenity," she replied, just as formally. "And I shall bring word of this fair kingdom when I return to my own home planet."
............."Then, please, do, feel comfortable to explore our fair palace," Serenity said, gesturing in a wide circle. "And may you enjoy your stay." A gentle applause arose from the audience before the chattering began again.
.............Princess Takano, daughter to the King and Queen of Aquila, returned the smile that Queen Serenity's daughter gave her. The younger princess gestured for her to follow and stepped away quietly. Takano shrugged and followed the princess to the Royal Gardens, where hundreds of roses grew and blossomed. "Did you wish to speak to me?" she asked the curious looking princess.
............."I just wanted to get out of there," Princess Serenity replied. "It's so stuffy. And I thought you might want to escape before the Court Jerks came around."
............."Then I thank you." Takano said, gazing at the blossoms. "This is truly a beautiful place."
............."I know," Serenity fingered the delicate petals of a red rose. "This is where Endymion and I first met." She seemed lost in thought, and Takano decided to take her leave quickly, for she sensed the presence of the aforementioned Endymion coming towards the gardens, no doubt in search of his Princess.
.............Princess Takano wandered through the garden, stopping under a beautiful Silver Moon tree, a tree whose leaves were as silver as moonlight. She kneeled underneath it, relishing in the comfort of the soil. She reflected back to the conversation she and her parents had had on her 16th birthday. They had told her she was going to the Moon Kingdom Court to learn the functions she would one day need to fulfill. She had stubbornly refused, but was won over in the end once her parents spoke of the beautiful gardens on the Moon. Takano's special talent lay in the magic of the ground. She could draw nearly endless power from it, and in return, she protected it. She absently traced her finger along the soil in front of her, unconsciously causing the growth around her to suddenly grow more luscious. Takano closed her eyes, at peace with the ground. She explored the energies throughout the Moon, and followed them as far as Earth, which held a strong tie to her Moon, unlike any Takano had ever sensed. She frowned slightly, but the frown faded quickly as she came back to the Moon, and herself. She opened her eyes and distilled the power that had gathered around as she wandered. With a sigh, she stood up and dusted herself off, taking special care of the Star Talisman she wore around her neck, for it was her focus when she used her magic. How I wish that my parents had at least sent Takana with me, she thought sullenly. Her twin was still at home, delegating some minor responsibilities. Takano's twin's power lay in the stars and sky, and when she and Takano teamed up, they were almost unbeatable. She tentatively reached through the bond she and her sister had, receiving a reassuring feeling when her twin responded. In a slightly better mood, Takano headed back towards the main hall, and all the courtly twits that awaited her.

.............Princess Amber of the Dark Moon, sister to Prince Demando, ruler of the Dark Moon family, closed her book with a sigh. Another one finished. she thought sullenly. I think that was the last one Demando gave me, too. She placed the hardcover book of spells on the table in front of her and stood up, her black and red dress falling fully to the floor. She absently threw an piece of her amber hair over her shoulder so that it would fall back into the pigtail it came from, which, in turn protruded from the odango-shaped buns of hair on either side of her head. She walked over to her trunk of books and sifted through it. Boring, boring, ugh, just plain stupid, she tossed away three books in quick succession. Stupid, boring, too mushy, too mundane . . . She closed the lid with a thunk. "There's nothing to read," she said aloud, and to no one in particular. "At least, not in my room." She got up and walked to the door, checking for witnesses. Then she slipped down to her brother, Saffiru's room. She ducked in and walked to his bookshelf, discarding most as boring or dumb. She picked one up, gazing at the cover. After a moment, she shook her head and discarded it, but picked it up after a moment. There's something odd about this book, she decided, tucking it into a fold of her long skirt and slipping back to her room. Once there, she cleared a table and put the book down on it and studied it for some time. I can't see what it is that's wrong, she thought. Maybe some magic probing will help? She sent out a tendril of energy, and was surprised to find it blocked by something. She sent out a more powerful tendril, confronting some sort of barrier that was placed about the book. So, someone doesn't want anyone to read this book. She sat down and considered her next step. Puzzles like this was her specialty. She had the persistence, intelligence, and magical talent to solve any problem. And her specialty in that was the dismantling of spells. She loved a challenge, and this was being presented to her. As she was about to begin, her brother, Demando, appeared in the room. Amber quickly shoved the book behind her back. "Hi, Demando!" she said with false, persuasive cheer.
.............Demando smiled at his little sister. "Hi, little Amber." he said. "How are those books coming?"
............."Oh, great!" Amber said. "In fact, I just finished another one!"
............."You read to fast." Demando complained teasingly. "At the rate you're going, I'll run out of books to give you within a year!"
.............Suddenly, Saffiru appeared beside his brother. "Prince Demando," he said gravely. "Those wretched Sailor Senshi have interfered again!"
.............Demando frowned. "Again? Why hasn't Esmerode done anything about them."
............."She has tried, brother." Saffiru said. "But they keep surviving."
............."Then I shall have to talk with the Wiseman," Demando decided. He kissed his little sister on the forehead before disappearing, Saffiru with him.
.............Amber found herself alone again, and pulled the book out from behind her. Now, to work! She thought, starting on the spell.

............."So, the evil forces that have been approaching the Moon have suddenly withdrawn?" Queen Serenity asked.
.............The questionee nodded. "The Outer Senshi watched them as they left the system," he reported.
............."Anything on where they are going?"
............."Our last report indicates that they are moving to the Aquila system," he said, placing the papers on the table in front of him.
............."Aquila?" Serenity asked. "What could they want there?"
............."That information has not been divulged, Highness."
.............Serenity turned to look out onto her precious kingdom as she thought. "You are dismissed," she said absently. "Keep an eye out for those forces though."
............."Of course," the man said, leaving.
.............Serenity gazed upon the Earth, which was rising in the Moon's sky. What could be going on? she wondered silently. And could there be any danger to us or Aquila?

.............Amber tried yet another small trick on the spell she was trying to dismantle. Negative, again, she thought dully. Whoever created this lock spell sure was powerful. She leaned forward and shifted through the book of spells she herself was using for reference. She put her finger down on a certain lock spell. This could be it, she thought. It certainly feels the same as it.? She flipped through the next few pages, which described the spell. Counter-spell, counter-spell, counter-spell, ah-ha!? She read the instructions quickly over once. Well, it's not the same, so I'll have to modify it slightly, she decided. With a few quick notes on a sheet of paper, Amber was ready to try the new approach. She concentrated on the center of the spell she was trying to unravel and set her new spell in there. "Come on," she whispered as the spell went to work. Almost too small to notice, a shift appeared in the web. "Come on, a little more . . ." She put more power into her spell and the lock unraveled a little more as she did so. Without warning, the cover of the book shimmered and changed. "Yes!" she exclaimed, picking it up. She read aloud the title; Dark Moon Spells: Volume Four Ugh! she thought. It's another book of spells! These are so boring! She prepared to toss it aside, but felt something pull her back to it. "What the-" She flipped through the book, and a page fell to the floor. She reached down and picked it up, reading it silently.

Memo to my All Powerful Self;
Esmerode is becoming a pain, also Saffiru,
destroy them soon, and pesky Amber.
Demando needs to be less curious, find
spell, or destroy(?).
Me(Wiseman)....................

............."The Wiseman?" she asked aloud. "All Powerful Self? Yeah, right!" suddenly, the content of the memo clicked.
............."Hey?! Who does he think he is?! Destroy me?! Saffiru?!"
.............She reread the message. "How dare he think of hurting my brothers!" she exclaimed angrily. "I'll show that little twit!" She paused, reconsidering. "Uh, on second thought, I don't think I'll commit suicide *quite* yet. However, I have to stop him." She glanced at the book, which had fallen in her anger. A second glance showed her that the spells on that page were different than what she would expect. She picked up the book and read the open pages. "How To Go To The Past In Nine Steps Or Less(And No Annoying Time Guardian To Deal With!)" She rolled her eyes. Whoever wrote this *clearly* had an *awful* sense of humor, she stated silently. She read on quietly, quickly finishing the page. Of course! she exclaimed to herself. The Sailor Senshi want to destroy the Wiseman(or so I hope). I could get them to fight him, and therefore save my brothers' lives in the process. But I can't let them do it alone, and I can't fight the Wise Man like I am now. Amber put the book down and began to plan.

.............Takano found herself wondering through the Rose Garden on the Moon. This place is so peaceful, she thought, absently picking a beautiful red rose. She held it in front of her and felt a pang of loneliness. The rose has always been Takana's favorite, she thought, remembering how her twin adored the blossom. Tentatively, Takano reached out and touched her sister's mind. :Takana?: she sent. :You busy?:
.............:I'm never to busy to talk with my twin,: came Takana's reply. :So, how's the Moon?:
.............:It's beautiful. You'd love it. There's a beautiful rose garden here.: Takano held up the rose again and sent the image to her sister.
.............:It sounds beautiful,: Takana sent wistfully. :But, I get stuck here for a few more years.:
.............:I'd better go,: Takano sent. :If I don't, they'll start looking for me here.:
.............:Later, sis,: Takana sent.
.............:Later,: Takano walked over to the Silver Moon tree that she often visited. she leaned against it's trunk and studied the rose she held. With a sigh, she let her hand fall to her side. I'd better get back now, she thought depressingly. Or else they will start looking for me. Before she could do anything more, a wave of pain washed over her. She instinctively reached for her sister, horrified to find the pain emanating from Takana. :Takana?!: she sent.
.............:Too many . . .: Takana sent back. :They rushed us. Mother's dead. Father's dead. No warning.:
.............:No!: Takano thought forcefully. :It can't be!:
.............:I'm sorry, dear sister,: Takana sent. :But it is, and I will soon join them.:
.............:But, you can't!: Takano cried, a tear escaping from her eyes as she stood there.
.............:I will use my last strength to banish the evil,: Takana said, her voice fading. :Now, break the link before it is to late!:
.............:Takana!: Takano sent. :Takana, don't leave me!: Suddenly, she felt the silver energy pass through her sister, taking the last of her energy. :Takana!: She fought to remain in contact, and the power, thinking it was Takana, coursed into her own body, screaming through her painfully, embedding itself into her eternally. Her link with Takana suddenly severed with her twin's death, but not before Takano felt the pain of dying with her twin. "Takana!" she cried, wracked with pain. Such was the last she remembered before the blackness took her.

End Part One

Well, now that you're totally confused, I think I'll get Part Two going. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it.
