Information I have so far on my Baker Ancestors:
My grandfather, Ivan Bittick Baker 1902 - 1971 (married Josephine Campisi), his father John Alexander Baker 1872 - 1925 (married Mary Lena Bittick) was the inventor of Baker’s Best Hair Tonic, whose father Joseph E. Baker 1838 - 1926 (married 1. Judith Frances Davis in Kentucky died 1881 in Texas and 2. Anna Pouncey in Texas). I believe Joseph E. may have been the son of William and Mary Baker of Hopkins Co Kentucky. I am looking for verification and do not have genealogy resources available locally. Any assistance in this Baker Line would be greatly appreciated.

It has come to my attention that there are a lot of web sites out there that are inaccurate with the George Peter Baker(Becker) line of the Rhine (Strasbourg) in Germany/France. This line settled in Beaver Co., PA. This George Peter is known to have had 5 children, George, Peter, Jacob, Henry and Elizabeth. He may have had more children.
One of the confusions is that son Peter is confused with Philip Peter. Philip Peter is from another German Becker family from Shenandoah Co., VA. His son, Anthony I, moved into Beaver Co, PA and his line remained there for several generations.
So, far, I do not know Peter's, Jacob's and Elizabeth's full line. Apparently son George's line has been fully researched and is more likely will be on the net correctly. Henry's line is shown on one web site as to whom he married and their children only.Ellen Baker

I recently found out two very interesting facts. While researching my Baker family, I came across a Hulet Baker married to Sarah Jane Emerson. Sarah Jane's sister Susan Angeline m. to John F.McCullar. John's sister Laura m. to Joel Jefferson Baker. Joel and Laura were my g grandparents. I have hit a brick wall with Joel because I only have the date he was born but no location. I think he and Hulet may have been related but I have no way of knowing. Joel was b. 1851. m. to Laura 18 May 1876 in AR.
The second thing I found out was that my grandfather Joseph Arnold Baker b. 27 May 1886 OK was married with children before he met my grandmother. His first wife's name was Mary Haskin. This is all I know of her but her children would be my aunts and uncles. I would like to find out about them. Maybe they knew more of the second family than the second family knew of them.

Pete Baker ran away from home around the age of 16. He ended up in Brownwood, Tx in the late 1880's or 1890's. He married Mary Jane (Sallie) Lusk around 1811. They had 5 children my father being the oldest and still alive. His name is Clarence D. Baker,2nd Lawarence Baker (deceased), 3rd Georgia Pearl Baker Cockrell, Bonnie Faye Baker Kirkpatrick and Neely Baker. All except one are living. I have been told that Pete had a brother, sister (named Lou), and his mother( do not know her name). They lived in Lake Village, Ark when my dad was very small. I also was told that Lou had a son that was a law enforcement office in DeQueen , Ark. This is all I know. We would like very much to solve this mystery. Any info would be greatly appreciated. My dad is 87 and looks like he is 65. He is very active and we have been told he was very much like his dad. I have a picture of my grandfather Pete. I'm running into brick walls trying to find any trace at all about Baker's from the Shamokin area of Pennsylvania. My great Grandfather was Harry Baker, born 1898, his wife was
Miriam Iva Baker(Kratzer). Harry was a long time railroad
worker and, I'm told he had almost a dozen siblings. I've also heard indications that the name Baker was once Beck, Becker, or Bach. There were seveal Baker's in that particular area of Penna. but none seems to lead to this
Baker family. Any clues would be very appriciate.
