greetings, Im afraid I do not have a lot of information on my seeking - however I am looking for information on my great great great grandpa by the name of Frank Lewis Baker married around the dates somewhere between 1870 to 1950's he married Annie Elizabeth Riggs I believe they lived in Australia somewhere out north like Gawler, Nurioopta etc...they had four children Glbert Henry William, Herbert Harry, and twins Sydney Gordon and Joyce...some of our family are under the impression that he may have been South African - if anyone has any information or pointers on where else I can seek information on the net I would very much appreciate this.

Hi, I'm looking for information on a Henry Baker from New Jersey? His daughter Magdalina (born about 1749) married Christian Almas about 1780, New Germantown, Hunterdon New Jersey.
Can any one help me out.
A note of interest regarding Baker Heirs. It seems it reached Canada, as articles were published in the Hamilton Spectator, Hamilton Ontario Canada in 1916. By these articles I see our decendants were involved in looking for their share of the pot. The figure quoted in this paper was $700,000,000.00. No wonder people were willing to pay a syndicate to handle the claim... Some of our Canadian Bakers were misled also. ou have to admit it did cause a stir and gave people something to talk about....
Thanks

He married a Sena Maynard (Senya or Senia) who is supposed to be from Ohio and of Cherokee descent. I first found them in Missouri Census in 1870 but am trying to go back from there. Would appreciate any info. Don't know where they married. Sena is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery Charleston Missouri with her second second husband Samuel Lynn. Can't find where James H. I am trying to trace James Baker who married Lovina Ivey I believe in Arkansas. By 1838 James and Lovina had at least one child. Robert Pinkney Baker was born Nov.14,1840 in Texas. The family story is that Lovina and James divorced. All I know is that Lovina Ivey Baker married Wade Hampton Hudson in Redriver Texas in 1843. Robert Pinkney Baker then started using the Hutson name. I would love any info on the Baker family and if James is the correct name for Robert Pinkney Baker's father.

hi there. I frequent thrift stores in my area -- oxnard, california - and today -- 9 july 2002 - I ran acrosss 25-30
old (real old) photos of baker/hendricks families - they're nicely placed on wood frames and some are --
viola baker farmer city illinois - emanuel baker champaign, illinois -- lela hendricks, charlie and hattie baker - lots of family, infant and individual photos --
can't believe someone placed them in thrift store ---
written in pencil on back and initaled by a JHS or somthing like that -- they all look nice and appear quite old - some marked from mid 1800's -- some taken at gullickson photographers of dekalb, Illinois and ferguson the photographer --- just thought some baker family ancestors out there would like to rescue them ---
chris stalcup -- 805-985-0332 -- they're all listed at 4.95 to 7.95 each ---- costly but priceless -- contact me and i'll help to rescue them if you'd wish.

My grandma, Mable (Erb) Baker and gandpa Harry Baker lived in Palmyra, Pa. Great grandfather named Cornelius Baker - I believe was Mennonite; which would likewise apply to the other ancestral names including Levi and Jacob. At the end of the line is a reference to someone being "raised by Rebecca". Don't know who the father is or who Rebecca was. If any of you can help me put the names in the right order and gather more facts, I would certainly appreciate it.

Greenberry Baker was born circa 1764. Parents Absalom & Mary Baker, Grandparents John & Margaret Baker, Greats, Maurice Baker & Elizabeth Greeniff. All of Anne Arundel County, MD.
Nicholas Greenberry was an early governor of Maryland. Many people named their children Greenberry. The story is he had several daughters & only one son, so the name Greenberry became a first name. I can connect Greenberry Griffith to this Nicholas, but not Greenberry Baker.
Can anyone else?

Find that James G Baker keeps popping up that he is son of Elias Baker, one says son of Benjamin Baker and one says that he is son of Beal Baker. A paper that I have written by J. M. Baker, Temple GA 1812 says that James Baker is the father, grandfather and g grandfather of the Bakers in the papers he has written. J. M. Baker is a g son of this Baker and he does not know the name of his g grandfather which would be the father of James Baker. Everyone agrees that this James Baker married Mary Sewell and had a son named Russell & Julius. Just not who his father and mother are. Does anyone really one really know. Thanks for a clarification. This was copied from David Keith Baker's website:

Andrew Baker was born in what is now Lancaster Co., Pa. Caleb was his administrator through the Orphans Court. [History of Lancaster Co., Pa.the files of Pat Greer, descendant of Robert Baker.] Andrew's mother was
unknown, but she was not the mother of Caleb if he was born in the 1690's. (as most files show) Caleb moved his family to Amelia Co., Va., around 1738. In 1742
he bought 430 acres and in 1743 he bought 970 acres from Wm. Kennon's Jr. & Sr. Both sides of the Buffalo River and North Fork of the Buffaloe River. [from the files of Pat Greer] In 1748 Caleb bought 304 acres in Amelia Co., on the south side of the South Fork of the Buffaloe River. [Land Office
Patents and Grants, State of Va. #26, page 470] Above From Willy's Konieczny
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Baker Cousins:
It's known for sure that our ancestor Andrew Baker's brother Caleb Baker bought land, in Amelia Co., Va. (1742), from John Bolling II's wife Mary Kennon Bolling's brother & nephew William Kennon, Sr. & Jr. which as far as known documents are concerned puts our ancestor Andrew Baker closer to John Bolling II, great-great-grandson of Pocahontas, than to his half-brothers.

What I need to find out is the valid source/s or circumstantial piece/s of evidence that our ancestor Andrew Baker II's mother was a Mary "Mollie" Bolling or even a (first name unknown) Bolling.

Two very good pieces of circumstantial evidence are: 1. Our ancestor Andrew Baker I named a son Bolling, and back then it was a popular tradition for a son, usually the second son, to be given his mother's surname for his first name. 2. My ancestor Andrew Baker III (b. 1765 d. after 1840 of Laurel Co., KY) named a son Bolling Baker who was a younger half-brother of the three sisters who were my ancestors: 4ggm Elizabeth Baker Arnold (wife of 4ggf James Arnold), 4ggm Mary Baker Whitaker (wife of 4ggf John Whitaker) and 3ggm Martha Baker Warren (wife of Rev. Matthew Warren)

I am looking for any information on my ggg grand father Noah Baker married to Susan Roach. His Children are Franklin, Harvey (1881-1938), Edward, Earla, Clayton, Roy Forest Jack. Harvey is my gg grandfather and is married to Martha Almina Reaman (1883-1975). Both from Ontario Canada.
I was told that Noah was rasied by his great grandmother & great grandfather Moyer. I believe he is related to The "Bakers" in Ontario, Canada who live near Markham, Ontario. If anyone can help please contact me. Thank you.
