Tellu is actually another gorgeous witch. (Actually all of them are pretty, except for Mimete). Tellu doesn't prevail for a very long time (actually she's only in-charge of the mission for only about 1 episode). She wasn't killed off by the Sailor Senshi or the next witch in-line. Her creations just back-fired on her (More about this later).
Earlier, Mimete lied to her by saying that Professor Souichi Tomoe didn't really want her to handle the mission. When Tellu found out Mimete lied, she got her revenge. Mimete took over a large system and was about to go on with her plan, but Tellu pulled it's plug, causing Mimete to die - then the mission was handed over to her.
Her plan for gathering heart crystals was using plants. She'd give some evil liquid to plants and making them become evil (silly, don't you think?) however the plant becomes powerful enough to fight humans for their heart crystals.
How she dies? Well this plan actually worked fine, a less complicated plan - the main ingredient is the evil liquid and a bunch of plants. She was able to capture Sailor Moon and hurt Pluto who was protecting Small Lady.
She dies because one plant totally lost control and turned on her. ^_^
