Taking Stock of the city:
John Dawson, author of Taking Our Cities for God, writes:
The fact is, there is a raging over your city and it is affecting
you right now. Our individual blind spots and vices are usually common
to the culture around us, and that culture is influenced by what the
Bible calls, principalities powers (Eph.6:12)... Spirtual warfare begins
at a personal level and escalates through layers of increasing difficulty
from personal and family to the realm of church life,and beyond that to
the collective church in the city and the national and international
realms.
Have you ever though about the battle for your immediate neighborhood?
Go around your neighborhood on a prayer walk. Stand in front of every house,
rebuke Satan's work in Jesus name,and pray for a revelation of Jesus in
the life of each family. Keep praying for each home. They will be families
in your neighborhood they will come to the Lord and have peace.
Corporate Prayer:
Join other women in your city for praying at diffrent places in your city
like city hall,the courthouse ect. Then pray for your nation. Ask God to
give wisdom,knowledge,and understanding to all our government leaders.
I engage corporate warfare against principalities and powers of darkness
that allowed abortion on demand,racisim,humanism in our schools,widespread
drug abuse,and an increase in crime,pronography,child abuse,and missing
children.
Then pray for the woman of america the married,the divorced,the widowed,
the single. Pray for waking mothers,for abused wives,for the wives and
woman of the military. Ask God to minister to thier deepist needs and reveal
himself to them. Such prayer effort by a few thousand women may appear
to some to be purly symbolic. But I believe there is a spiritual dynamic
in the prayer of agreement offered by women that will make a diffrence
in our nation.
Repenting For Our Nation:
It is meaningful to walk the ground where the devil is operating as we
assault him. It is an outward declaration of God's victory in that place.
As Joshua was about to march unto the Promised Land,God told him "I will
give you every place where you set your foot,as I promised Moses. Be strong
and corageous,become and you will lead those people to inherit the Land.
Do not be terrified. Do not be discouraged,for the Lord,your God will be
with you wherever you go."Josh 1:3,6,9" We can act upon this word today as
the Holy Spirit shows us where to put our feet. But we must keep an attitude
of humility and reputance as we pursue such a prayer project.
As you stand in the gap for your city,allow the Holy Spirit to Shine the
bright light of truth into the inner realms of your soul. Run from the
religious deceit that world Seduce you into believing that you are superior
to any prison. It is only by the Blood of the Lamb and the power of the Spirit
that we stand free from the chains of the guilt and the sentence of death.
The Bttle in The Heavenlies:
A big obstacle for many woman in maintaining a consistent prayer life is
tha nagging questian,"How can my prayers possibly make a diffrence in the
way things turn out?" It is one of Satan's biggest ploys to dissuade us from
pursuing prayer.
Yet scripture clearly shows us that when believers pray on earth,they
instigate activity in the heavenlies. The prophet Daniel had an angelic
visitation after three weeks of praying,fasting,and repenting on behalf
the people. The angel told Daniel that on the first day he humbled himself
to pray God had heard his words. In fact,the angel had been dispatched with
a message in response to Daniel's prayer but he had encounted interference
from the Prince of Persia."The messenger angel had to have help from the angel
Micheal to get through. He developed a prophet message to Daniel, and he
indicated that on his return he would fight both the Prince of Persia and the
Prince of Greece(Dan 10:20)
If there were rulers in the spiritual realm called princes trying to stop
Daniel's prayers from being answered, are we immune? NO!I believe hostle
spiritual faces still thy to block out prayers from being answered. And
Scriptured implies that these evil princes rule over diffrent geographical areas.
I assume our city has an evil prince over it with an evil prince over I with
other evil spirits waking under him . While as your prayer walk bind any spirits
you feel the Holy Spirit reveals to you; (greed,adultery,spiritual blindness,
witchcraft,humanism,addiction,hatred,lying,murder,suicide,or whatever.
Ask God to open blinded eyes so that people might hear from darkness to light and
recieve forgiveness though Jesus.
The Comforter Had Come,
The gifts of the Holy Spirit empowers us to be strong women of God even in our
moments of weakness. Jesus promised his followers. "I will ask the father,
and he will give you another Comforter (counselor,helper,advocate,strengthener
and standby)that he may remain with you forever, the spiritif truth..He will
teach you all thinkgs."(john 14:16,17,26)Without the gift of the Holy Spirit,
we would be powerless before the enemy. But he strengthens us for
battle in many ways. Here are a few of them:
The Holy Spirit festifies of Jesus (John 15:26, Romans 8:16)
The Holy Spirit teaches (Luke 12:12,1Cor.2:13)
The Holy Spirit guides (Matt. 10:19, John16:13)
The Holy Spirit reveals (John 14:20,1Cor.2:9,10)
The Holy Spirit comforts (John 14:16,17, Acts9:31)
The Holy Spirit gives joy (John 15:11,Rom14:17)
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts (1Cor.12:4-31)
The Holy Spirit liberates (John8:32, Rom. 8:2)
The Holy Spirit empowers for service (Luke 4:4 Acts 1:8,14)
The Holy Spirit intercedes for us (Rom. 8:26, I Cor.14:14,15)
When we ask the Holy Spirit to intercede through us, many Christians
believe this means to seek God's will and then pray accordingly. Still
others believe it revolves praying in an unknown tongue as those in
the early Christian Church.
Consider Paul's words: the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not
know what we ought to pray, but the Spirit-himself intercedes for us
with groans that words cannot express. And He who searches our hearts
knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the
saints in accordance with God's will" (Rom.8:26,27)
"For anyone who speaks in a tonuge does not speak to men but to God."
(I Cor. 14:2)
"I will pray with the Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding
also..." (I Cor.14:15)
Intercedeing according to the will of God is the most important ingredient
of prayer.
Prayer is the most valuable use of tongues for it is "speaking to God'
(I Cor. 14:2)
....The Holy Spirit is certainly not limited to the English language, nor
is He confined to modern languages. He has access to every languaage ever
used in heaven. When deep intercession is needed, the Spirit often uses a
language that is beyond the intellectual grasp of the speaker to bypasss
the censorship of his or her consious mind, thereby enabling the Spirit
to say what needs to be prayed without arguing with faith level of the
one through whom the intercession flows.
Praying in tongues is not the work of the subconscious. It's really
super-intellectual praying. That is, the prayer is beyond the natural
mind, not beneath the conscious level. Intercessoty prayer in tongues is
not incoherent speech. The very words are motivated by the Holy Spirit,
addressed to the father and approved by the Lord Jesus (Mark 16:17)
According to Acts 2:39 the gifts is available to all born-again christians
-not just those who lived in the first century after Christ. The only
requirements are that you be God's child, and that you ask (Like11:11-13)
Prayer life takes on new meaning. Keep a prayer journal of your prayers and
God's answers. Your prayer time should not be limited to the time you set'
aside to pray. Pray while you iron, walking, writing, working in the
kitchen, driving, speaking,cleaning huse, lying in bed, trying always
to keep your ears turned to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
