This Seekers fan club was run by a lady called Diane Ardern, it cost me three shillings a year to subscribe for which I would receive all information and photos of what the Seekers were doing through the year! Below is a picture of my mebership receipt:
In May 1996 Judith Durham did a U.K tour, I was lucky enough to be able to obtain tickets to see her at three of her concerts: Plymouth, Bournemouth and finally The Royal Festival Hall (London). I wrote a letter to the entertainments manager at Bournemouth, who passed it on to Judith. Two weeks later I received a postcard from Judith saying that if all goes well she will meet me at the stage doors after the show of the night I was going to see her perform. This was a promise which she duly kept! Further on in her tour Judith sent me another postcard from Sheffield, thanking me for the gift and flowers which she had received from me! A picture of the two postcards Judith sent me are below, I can assure you that they are two of my most prize possessions!
Below are the two tickets for the shows that I went to see at the Melbourne Concert Hall in February. Below those are a picture of the inside cover of Judith Durhams Book "Colours Of My Life" which Judith personally signed for me!
Finally as the title sugguests meeting Judith in her home town of Melbourne, seeing Judith and the Seekers live in concert, and having Judith and the Boys greet me the way that they did after the show which gave me my chance to present Judith with some flowers and fulfill My Dream at the same time! You can tell what a moment this was for me from looking at the picture below!
