Anual Love

A year is gone
Since you confessed
Confessed you love to me.
This year has slowly
Passed us by
With smiles, cheers, and laughs,
As well as those mournful times,
Where I often questioned
The concept of "we".
But times have changed
And so have all of us.
We have learned to forgive and forget.
And yet I cautiously approach
This anniversary
Of when our hearts met.
How will he behave, I think,
Caring, loving and sweet?
I wonder will he save
My helpless lonely soul
That waits an eternity to sink?
Or will he ignore me
As he often has,
Will he forget and go celebrate
With his dear precious *sweet lovely?
I let my mind wander
To impossible and unthinkable thoughts.
I must look over yonder
At what tomorrow brings.
Let life tell its story,
And see what happens.
I will stop assuming such things.
For only time will tell
How he reacts to the world,
The world once known as "we".

* - was changed from its original word which i won't get into
