House of EVIL

Welcome to the house of EVIL, a page dedicated to my favorite villians from movies. Not really a worship page, but one of those things that came about from a question asked of my friends a few years ago. Listed below you will find the Actor ... Role in the film Film name or Show name. In no real order:

Bruce Dern .... John Gillon Diggstown
This is a fine example of evil. In fact, its the first example that comes to mind when putting this list together. If you havent seen the movie, I wont spoil it, but there are few people out there that make me say, "I want to kill him" whilst playing the bad guy. Go Bruce Dern!

Wayne Pygram .... Scorpius/Harvey Farscape
Wicked, evil vile excuse for a man. And then some. I generally wouldnt watch something like Farscape, but after seeing (accidently, I swear!) two episodes with him in them I was hooked. In fact, noe that he isn't in the show much anymore, I really don't watch it. Which is sad really, because just when I began telling other people I knew to watch it, I had to tell them not to again. (Sigh) Anyway, The character is well written, well portrayed by Pygram, and very sinister. Really the only reason to go out and beg for the first few seasons on DVD...

David Prowse/James Earl Jones .... Darth Vader Star Wars
One can't have a house of villiany unless you include the master. If you were going to war in any timeframe, this is the evil at the head of the pack. He (they) represent the style side of evil. Panache, flair, and just pure evil. All evil has the potential to be bad. They define it. And other than the Emperor, steer clear of those wussy evil wannabes in those new movies.

Patrick McGoohan .... Longshanks - King Edward I Braveheart
Ooh....what a dick! Any badguy with enough brains to remember that evil people and their empires need sex also is on my list. McGoohan makes a very believeable baddy, right down to the preplanning of ordering troops. His acting is really enjoyable, and he has the best facial expressions near the end of the movie. Plus, who can for get the "irish" quote. Great evil delivery!!

Wayne Knight .... Evil Emperor Zurg Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
Ok, your thinking, umm Kirk, Buzz Lightyear? Are you feeling ok? Well, no, but here's what you need to know. Yes, its total cheese villiany. Yes I believe the guy is the guy from Sienfeld. And yes, its disney. But, the writing and vocal talent should not be ignored. Normally cheese villiany makes me groan in pain, and I want to evacuate pronto. But Knight's voice just sounds so....evil! You feel bad for him when his plans don't work out. And you admire him for always trying. Its damn funny because he's just evil. Kinda like "so stupid, its funny".

Mike Myers .... Dr. Evil Austin Powers movies
Speaking of so stupid, its funny, If you've seen any of these movies, you know that Myers as Dr. Evil is the only reason to watch the damn things. Well, he did go to Evil medical school....I havent seen the third one yet, but I'm sure that Dr. Evil again steals the show. Its a great role, played by an actor who in my opinon is ok, even though he's a leafs fan. (spit).

James Earl Jones .... Thulsa Doom Conan the Barbarian
"People have no grasp of what they do..." (oooh...evil shivers) Jones actually does the best Doom I've ever seen or read. He breathes life into a character that in print seemed thrown together for a quick fix. "SEEK" Nevermind that I may have seen the movie a few times, I think He really does an outstanding job. How they got him into that evil suit near the beginning is beyond me, but as another "stomach enhanced" member of society, I'm holding out hope I can get my hands on one for a halloween costume. If you havent seen the movie, then go you infidel defilers...

Kevin Spacey .... John Doe Seven
You'll see his name later in the list also, but Spacey really scared me and freaked me out in this role. Anyone evil enough to make Brad Pitt tolerable, even likeable in a movie is a bad ass. Plus, it didnt hurt that the "alone in my world seeking religious knowlege about the end of the world" type is one of my very favorite villian types. The end is a shocker, and it was just really f'n evil.

Joerg Stadler .... Steamboat Willie Saving Private Ryan
Firmly seating himself in the "I'm glad he f'n dies at the end" category of villians, Joerg is the only member of the house of evil that actually gave me nightmares. I have still, to this day, apprehensions of seeing the move and being around for the parts where he does his evil thing. His character represents evil by necessity, but it still gives me the ultimate in creeps. War is hell folks, and he makes the audience think that he almost enjoys it. Truly evil.

Kevin Spacey .... Roger 'Verbal' Kint The Usual Suspects
Deceptivly evil, due to the fact that you don't get to see who he really is until the end of the film, Spacey really "gets ya" while playing this role. VERY enjoyable movie due to him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger .... T-800 (The Terminator) The Terminator
You can't mess with a classic. Representing technological evil, Arnold gives the world a red, cyborgs eye view of evil from the future. Admitedly, it was a great role for him, due to the accent, but there are very few people who wouldn't acknowlege his skill for looking evil. Besides, who knew evil could let you walk around naked?

Jonathan Pryce .... Mr. Dark Something Wicked This Way Comes
I am sure it probably wouldn't be as evil now as it was years ago when I was younger, but thats the privilege of choice. I choose to remember Pryce as pure evil, the devil. He may not be representing satan in the film, but it sure seemed like it. And, if you take the yoke of the prince of darkness, I better like the cut of your jib. And I liked his. Again, I know what youre thinking....disney? Yuck! But, like the Black Hole, they are capable of releasing a few good flicks.

Sessue Hayakawa .... Colonel Saito The Bridge on the River Kwai
Again, you cant mess with classics. Hayakawa represents evil in a comprimising position. He needs goodness of the pow's to get his evil orders completed. As Saito, he creates a memorable evil character that pulls at the heartstrings of the viewer for sympathy. Historically speaking, this probably never would be possible, due to the viciousness of the japanese soldiers on pow's, but it still makes for an entertaining yarn.

Anthony Hopkins .... Dr. Hannibal Lecter The Silence of the Lambs
Heh. I barely need to talk about it do I? You already have remembered all the scenes from the movie havent you? See how EVIL he is? I am very glad that this role was his to act. I cant really imagine anyone else trying it.

Philip Kwok .... Mad Dog Hard Boiled
Although probably only appretiated by a scant few individuals, Kwok represents evil with morals. Taking a bullet for what you believe in isnt really evil, but watching the action sequences of Hard boiled and knowing how tough he is as "the tough" gives you satisfaction that evil can be more powerful than good in a movie.
