Everywhere I step my feet begin to sink,
As I walk the desert of life, my spirit thirsts for a drink.
The sands begin to shift, as I take every step,
As the wind begins to blow, my faith is still kept.
I look to the sky for a sign of relief,
The vultures fly over up above looking for a sign of a feast.
As I stumble, but not falling, one swoops by my head,
I bow down and keep stepping trying to stay spirit fed.
I look ahead, is it water I see?
Or is it my adversary Satan trying to deceive me.
Falling to my knees, to drink the water covered land,
I splash two palms full in my face, and it was nothing but sand.
Down on my knees with not the strength to get up,
The vultures pluck at my heels, hoping that I've given up!
With the hope of life still flowing through my veins.
I close my eyes to pray, Lord shelter me from the pain.
Everywhere I turn, the view is the same,
My trials have turned into wind,
My tribulation into pain
God has given me the strength to make it back to my feet,
He has sent the Holy Ghost to help me Fight the Devil beasts.
Taking my steps forward the wind begins to blow,
Taking my steps forward the pain begins to grow.
Fighting with all my strength against the wind, pain, and sand,
As I begin to slide back, I hear a voice saying "Reach Out Your Hand."
Reaching out my arm with my fingers extended,
I started regaining my strength as Jesus and I mended.
For every step I took, He took three,
When the sand was covering my feet, He pulled me free.
He pulled, I followed and the pain began to clear,
The wind stopped blowing, and I lost my fear.
When I couldn't walk, Jesus made me run,
When I thought it was over, but it had only begun.
Now led by the Lord, through this journey of life,
I thank Him for His Hand, and His Holy Sacrifice.
Now when I turn, the wind has changed,
My trial is no longer wind,
My tribulation is no longer pain.
