My little Red Wagons

Those of you who've visited my site before know that I found this truck dead on the side of the road. It was battered and broken, rusted, busted, and crusted. I found the owner and bought the truck. I made a project of it and this is how it turned out.
This truck served me faithfully for many years and many miles. It hauled myself and my race bike everywhere from Michigan to Memphis, from St. Louis to Summit Point, and plenty of tracks in between. However, the hankerin' for a new truck just wouldn't let me be. So I decided my time had come. I sold old faithful to a very nice older gentleman who's now taking as painstaking care of it as I did all those years. I replaced it with something that I felt could carry on the tradition of the little red wagon. A 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4wd V-6 extended cab.

Those of you who know me well, know that I just can't leave anything well enough alone. I started with simple cosmetic stuff, like removing all the emblems and stickers, and adding a front end mask and some vent visors. Tinting the windows added a nice touch as well and only took me a few hours. My most recent additions are a set of TRD "Ivan Stewart" 16x8 wheels with 33x11.5 Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires. A 2.5" lift kit made room for those beasts, and some Grizzly step bars help the wife climb up to the cab. Total lift was just under 4" front and rear. I couldn't be happier with the finished product.

Since we all know that you just CAN'T have too much horsepower, I added a Roots type supercharger from TRD (Toyota Racing Developement) pushing about 8 pounds of boost and adding approximately 75 hp and 77 lbs./ft of torque. The installation was clean and easy, and the truck positively scoots now. I'm thrilled with the power gain, and I think this truck and I are gonna put on a few good miles together..... just like the old one.

I saw these gauge faces on e-bay and just couldn't resist. The installation was a little tedious, but well worth the effort in the long run. I get lots of compliments on them.

If you want to see what TRD might have to fit your 'yota, you can click here to check out their website. Perhaps a blower for your Camry, or a lowering kit for your Celica? They've got it!!
