William2 George1 married Amasa BEEBE
on 21 July 1841 in New Carlisle in front of the
Justice of the Peace. I had figured from her siblings ages that Mary would
have been 11 at the time.
I suspect that she actually was a minor but closer to 18 years old. Her
parents objected to this
marriage.Mary and Amasa were married for the second time in 1844 by which
time she had reached
the age of majority and there was a proper Anglican minister serving the
community. Her father, William, was from a family of Anglican ministers in Devon so I imagine that he pushed for the second marriage ceremony.-
They had 11 children:
