My Dear Uncle,
We have recently entered on a farm and the above address . Father was at Newby to see Jseph Underwood the other day he gave Father your address said he had not heard for 4 years from any of you I venture to trouble you with a few lines as we are anxious to know how you and Aunt Ann and yourself and family. Joseph Underwood is getting old now too but still teachs the school. Father and Mother are neither are so fresh as they used to be but one can't expect them to be now .They are both quite well . One of my Brothers Clement is talking of coming out to America before long . What advice could you give which is the best part to go to ? Should you think worth while answering this which I hope you will before long give us a long letter. Farms here are very ....... I hope ... will do well for us as it is their own industry . They have been able to take one .Clement is 22 very steady always been used to the agricultural work if we can prevent him coming we will we are all sorry he has got it into his head to go out he is so highly a good musician. I may say a general favourite everywhere so we shall miss him very much. There may be many changes with you since you last wrote. I will send you both my photo and Clements next time I write if every you gie me the pleasure to write again. Now I must leave off. Hoping to hear from you ,believe me.
Your Affectionate Niece,
Bessie Irving
