Converting games from Sega' powerful Model 2 arcade board is never easy, but in Sega Rally's case AM3 have pulled off the near-impossible with aplomb. The resolution and frame rate have suffered, of course, but remains is the guts of the beast - its playability. That's not to say the graphics are poor, far from it in fact. The cars are convincingly 'solid' with proper see-through windows - a rarity in racing games. The stage backdrops also are convincingly detailed and shift along at a fair old whack. But it’s the way that Sega Rally plays that really makes it shine. All the control nuances from the arcade version are there, and experts will be able to slide their chosen car from one bend to the next with the greatest of ease. Oh, and there’s the hidden Stratos car, and an excellent two-player mode. Look, just buy it, okay? After all this time, Sega Rally remains the best racer on the Saturn purely because it does everything a great game should, and does them well. One of the best arcade conversions we've ever seen. reviewed by Stephen Fulljames
