I DID IT!!!!!!!!!

At 10 am on October 28th I dipped my foot in the Southern Pacific Ocean at North Bondi Beach. It has been a long, hard, lonely journey of self discovery, but one I wouldn't trade for the world. The feeling of accomplishment is beyond description at the moment, but all I can say right now is that I DID IT!!!!!

Despite completing the crossing, for me the journey is not over yet. I'm now DRIVING THE SAME ROUTE with Jez and am only now beginning to appreciate the full magnitude of what I have done.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement along the way. It meant a lot and certainly helped to get me through those really tough days when I kept asking myself 'Why am I doing this?'

There are many answers to this question, which I hope to be able to express in the book I am writing about my experience - called 'Going the Distance'.

It doesn't seem real at the moment. It doesn't feel like I've finished. So all I can say right now is I DID IT!!!!!!...
