Soon we will be observing Memorial Day. Many of us will do so by going to the mountains, the beach, or just having a cook out with our family and friends. Even if it is just minute or two, please remember what the Holiday is really about. It doesn't take long to give that little bit. Maybe it might cause you to really observe the Day as it should and go out and help place flags on the graves of the veterans, or attend a service in your church or synagogue. Remember if it wasn't for those men and women you might not be enjoying any holidays.
THE FLAG GOES BY

Thank you Laine, Pam, and Mike for the honor of this 3rd place Award for this page...
Along the street there comes
a blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums,
A flash of color beneath the sky:
The flag is passing by!
Blue and crimson and white it shines,
Over the steel-tipped ordered lines.
The colors before fly;
But more than the flag is passing by:
Sea-fights and land-fights, grim and great,
Fought to make and to save the State;
Weary marches and sinking ships;
Cheers of victory on dying lips;
Days of plenty and years of peace;
March of a strong land's swift increase;
Equal justice, right and law,
Stately honor and reverend awe;
Sign of a nation great and strong
Toward her people from foreign wrong;
Pride and glory and honor --- all
Live in the colors to stand or fall.
Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums;
And loyal hearts are beating high:
The flag is passing by!
