The bridge of the Defiant is a little larger than a ship its size would normally have. Most of the equipment is standard as well. There is a traditional captains chair located at the center, and a helm console at the front. The the sides are engineering as well as tactical consoles. Both turbolifts are located at the rear ends of the bridge. New features were added to its bridge such as a "Holocommunicator" which was developed by Star Fleet Tactical about two years ago.

The Defiant's Engine Room is located on Deck Six, the lowerst deck of the ship. This is a more compact room that engine rooms normally seen on Soveriegn, Intrepid, Akira and Galaxy Glass Starships. The Lythium Chamber puts out more energy than most Star Ships. It is the heart of the ship. It controls perpulsion, weapons, replicators, and whatever else is there. It is not known if wether or not the Defiant Class carries the "Bio-Neural Gel Packs" that is commonly found on Star Ships today. The Engine Room has two levels containing consoles for almost any function of the ship.

The Trasporter known to be located on Deck Three. This transporter is really small compared to others. It can only transport a standard compliment of four people. But when needs, it can transport as many as ten at once, but it can become extremely cramp. The transporter room itself is the size of one normally found on Glaxy Class Star Ships. It has basically the same functions: Subspace radio, same targeting sensors, ect. It can also disable any hand weapons that are being carried up or down by people that are known to be hostile. The only flaw with the Defiant's transporter is that tacyons build up in the transporter by the Romulan Cloaking Device. It could cause materialization problems such as time travel, different beam down points, or could cause the pattern of the transportee to be scrambled and lost all together.

Generally, the Defiant Class Warship is State Of The Art as far a war ships are concerned. Only eight know Defiant Class Star Ships Are Known To Exist. The U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205, and the U.S.S. Valiant NCC-74201 were the latest ones to fall to the Dominion. The ships carry ablative hull armor. Just incase the shields weaken or fail, the Hull Armor can provide extra protection for a limited time. They are also known to have a new type of phaser array. They are know by three names: Multi-Targeting Phaser Banks, (4) Pulse Cannons, or just your ordinary phaser array. They carry both Photon, and Quantum Torpeodos. The ships are incompatible with Plasma Torpedos. They are also only able to carry two shuttle craft. They are unable to land or take off on planetary surfaces.

The Defiant Class has a standard crew compliment of fifty. The Deflector Array Located at the front part of the ship (nose shaped) is a little different. To increase its range, or to scan for enemy vessels, it must tilt downward. The structural integrity field is the only thing that slows it down while it is at warp. The ship can not go above warp 9 without draining power from other systems. Perferably the phaser reserves. The ship will tear itself apart if this is not done. This is probably the only class that is "Offensive." It was built for battle. It can start them or finish them. Rifitting intervals have not be established yet.

The view screen of a Defiant Class vessel is more smaller than those normally scene on a Soveriegn or Intrepid Class Star Ship. As show here, when the view screen is subjected to weapons fire, image transmission become scramble. This view screen has a cgreater resolution than other types of Star Ships in service today. With better magnification and acuracy.

It has standard capabilities, but can not operate in planetary atmospheres, and certain Nebula Phenomenons. (Wow, what an interesting feature)

The Defiant Class Starship is capable of carrying only two shuttle craft. They have a more unusual design than most shuttles that are normally seen. They are equiped with phasers, and a small compliment of photon torpedoes. They have a stronger tractor beam capacity as well. They are equiped with the same type of ablative hull armor as their mother ship. The range of this type of shuttle is quite short, and is not meant for extended use. They are smaller as well and are capable of supporting two occupants.
