Introduction:
 
        Root Canal Treatment ( or RCT for short ) is a treatment carried out usually in badly decayed & carious teeth when the bacterial infection has reached the pulp chamber of the tooth and damaged the pulp leading to tremendous and unbearable pain in the tooth. In RCT, the tooth is opened and the damaged and infected pulp is taken out and the bacterial infection is brought under control using intracanal medications. Once the tooth is infection-free, then it is filled with an inert, bio-compatible material, and then sealed from the top. Usually, a Crown is given over the tooth to reinforce the weakened tooth structure.
