Doctor   Ambition's   Wonderful   Creations

Doctor Ambition is a visionary. He has created numerous technological breakthroughs. What follows are some of his better known, or best kept secret creations.

THE AMBITIOUS TANK

======================================================

The Ambitious Tank was designed for the South. They had planned to use it at Gettysburg, but funding fell out and Dr. Ambition moved West. The Tank is a big, heavily armored steam wagon. It can carryup to eight men. Two men operate the vehicle, the restcan either be simple passengers, or they can be the gun crew.

The Tank has 4 Gatling Guns, one at each corner, and a cannon on the turret. The cannon retracts back into the tank when it needs to be reloaded so that the men remain covered.

The hull of the Ambitious Tank takes no damage from pistols, rifles, or shotguns. Gatling guns only do 1/4 damage, TNT does 1/2 damage, and cannon fire does 3/4 damage. The main disadantages of the tank are that it is slow (it only moves at 1/4 the speed of a Steam Wagon), it consumes 4 times the fuel of a Steam Wagon, and it is only 1/4 as manuverable as a Steam Wagon.

Dr. Ambition's Fabulous Frankenstien Machine

======================================================

Dr. Ambition first conceived this device after touring Europe, while there he discovered some of Doc Frankenstien's notes. He did some searching and found the old scientist's laboratory. After a little study he decided that he had located Frankenstien's errors, and that he not only could correct them, but improve upon the original designs.

Upon returning to the states he started work on his new blueprints, and after a year he had finally done what Doctor Frankenstien had failed to do----build a resurrection device.

The machine allows the scientist to chose the abilities and hindrances of the patchwork body upon it's resurrection. The reanimated body is not undead. It is not harrowed. It is an actual living being that has been brought into the world through unnatural means. For the first year of it's life others will be able to perceive this unnaturalness, just like animals sense a harrowed.

The body can be given abilities as desired. If a shooting skill is desired, the the arm of a skilled gunman is required. If ambidexterity is desired then the arm of a left handed person should go go on the left, the same for the right. The hindrance All Thumbs can be gotten by doing the opposite. Intelligence can be transferred from the brain used, but not knowledge. Only rudimentary skills are retained, skills like speech, walking, eating, etc. Thus hexes cannot be given but they can be relearned.

After a year the unnatural aura around them fades and the are perceived as normal indiviuals.

Doctor Ambition's Miraculous Moreu Machine ======================================================

This device takes two beings, generally a human and an animal, and creates a hybrid creature. The subjects used die during the process, although memories are transferred to the new being. The problem is that the hybrid also has to deal with it's animalistic nature. This causes them to be a little mad. Often, hybrids go on killing rampages, unless control is taken at the moment of awakening. Treat this as a battle for Dominion. This battle is a one time deal, if the hybrid loses then it is forever lost in the mad struggle of man vs animal.

The size of the animal is unimportant. A flea could be merged with a man if it was so desired. Animals cannot be merged with other animals nor humans with other humans. Ambition created 2 such beings before ending his experiments with this device. He stopped once he realized he was responsible for the deaths of two men. His first experiment resulted in the creation of the Goatman (see Critters section next week), and his second the Human fly (also next weeks Critter).

The creation process uses up the bodies of both subjects so there is no evidence of their existence after the device is done with them. New beings are completely funtional 1/2 hour after creation.

Ambition had hoped to be able to create a new superior race of beings, but since each creature made has a fifty fifty chance of going mad he opted to stop his experiments. It is important to note that no supernatural creature or Harrowed can be used in the process. Plants also fail.

Dr. Ambition's Mysterious Mental Transference Device ======================================================

If it isn't obvious by now the good doctor has a great desire to improve on the human condition. He is looking to make a better humanity, and if that doesn't work he'll settle for preserving those he deems worthy. In this regard he has created a device that actually transfers the mind of one individual with the mind of another individual.

The machine looks like two of those new fangled electric chairs, complete with straps and wires. Each chair has a skull cap which gets fitted over the subject's head. Once activated electric current crackles over the subject's bodies and culminates with a large bolt passing between the subject's heads.

At the end both subjects will have exchanged MENTAL characteristics. There is no limit to the # of times a mind can be transferred.

The process can be fought by making a Cognition check (-2). Only physical bodies are exchanged, no skills are passed on.

Doctor A's Giantizer

======================================================

Bigger is better. At least that is what Dr. A thinks. Sooooo, he devised and constructed a machine that "enlarges" things. His reasoning was if you made a 3,000 lbs carrot you could feed a lot of people. Unfortunately, his device only seems to work on animal tissue. Plants are immune to the growth ray. Ambition's device is the size of a Steam Wagon. It is basically square, with various bells, whistles, and gauges, but with a sphere on an arm. The sphere emits the Growth ray through a small hole that can be adjusted for size.

The Giantizer requires Ghost Rock, water (for steam), and kerosene. A diamond of excellent quality rest in the sphere. It takes three people to operate the machine. The results of the growth ray cannot be reversed.

Dr. A's Flying Stetson

In his younger days Doc A had a dream of soaring through the air like a bird. So, he designed a craft capable of flight. The Flying Stetson looks like 2 plates placed atop one another with a glass dome on top for a pilot to see. The craft can carry 3 people, and 500 lbs of cargo. It has a flight pace of 60, and is incredibly manuverable. When it flys the Stetson glows with weird lights and a low hum.

Other Inventions

Bubble Gun

This silly contraption uses a special formula that creates containment bubbles. These bubbles grow larger the further they get, and when they come into contact with an item or living subject they envelope said item or subject. Once they have enveloped something the bubbles become solid containers that have an armor rating of 8. These bubbles allow air to pass, but that is all. The bubbles last approximately 8 hours, after which time they vanish in a loud pop. A bubble gun can fire up to 100 bubbles before needing to be reloaded. Reloads cost $50.
