The Lone Gunman

===============================

No one knows who the Lone Gunman actually is. Legend has it that he used to be a Texas Ranger, whose posse was ambushed. Somehow, he alone survived, but was doomed to die in the blistering sun. Had Pronto not stumbled onto him he surely would have died. The Mexican nursed the Ranger back to health and helped him find the men responsible for the bushwack. The two of them gunned the killers down, and rode off to make a legend.

The Gunman wears a hood, similar to that worn by someone about to be hanged, with just holes for his eyes. He also wears a stetson, a gray duster, and the badge he used to carry as a lawman. Since one of his early adventures dealt with battling a pack of werewolves he also has a habit of carrying silver bullets. His horse, Copper, was taken from the leader of the bushwackers.

The Gunman has become fierce friends with Pronto, his savior, the two always travel together. They may hook up with a posse for a short time, but eventually the pair will ride off on their own looking for new adventures. Sometimes, as he rides off the Lone Gunman can be heard to yell, "Yee Ha, Copper, awaaaaaaaaay!!"

Pronto

=================

Pronto was born in Old Mexico, but at the age of 16 he moved to Texas. He tried to make it as a cowhand, but it didn't work out. Since he was forced to use a gun one day, and beat out a veteran gunman he became hounded by those looking to make a name for themselves. When he turned 20 he decided to return home. Along the way he found a wounded Texas Ranger, and decided to help him.

He had earned his nickname, Pronto, for being so quick on the draw. Now that is the only name he will acknowledge. His old life is over. He is a hero now, and so has given up on his old life.

He got his horse, Trooper, after an altercation with some Union boys. His horse carries the mark of the U.S. Cavalry on it's flank.

Copper

======================

Copper is a smart horse. It is also swift as the wind, and will permit no one but the Gunman or Pronto near it. Anyone trying to actually ride him will have to deal with a wild horse. Copper is copper in color, but has black around his eyes as if he were wearing a mask.

Trooper

=====================

Trooper is a dependable strong horse. It is not exceptional in any way except for the fact that Pronto has trained it to do a few tricks. Those tricks are secret and your party will have to discover them the hard way. He gets Trooper to execute them by a series of complex whistles. Trooper is a mottled brown and white.

Sorro, Master Swordsman

=======================================

Sorro used to be a wealthy man. He was a leader of his people, but Santa Anna took his wealth, his family, and his home. In order to combat the evil grip Santa Anna had taken over Mexico Sorro vowed to battle Anna and his troops wherever he encounters them.

He cut holes in a black bandanna to be used as a mask, donned all black clothing and a cape; he put a six gun on his right hip and a sword on his left and set out to take down the General.

Sorro leaves a mark on his victims, both live and dead. He cuts them with his sword carving a large "S" into their bodies. If he shoots a man he will, when possible shoot a "S" into his chest. Sorro is a master swordsman and gunman. He is also a decent hand to hand combatant and tries to kill any Mexican soldier he comes across.

Sorro's horse, Whirlwind is his only companion, but he will accept help from anyone willing to take on Santa Anna. About a year ago Sorro moved into the Great Maze. He learned that Anna had plans to take the remains of California for himself, and Sorro will not let that happen.

Abel, FU Master

======================================================

Abel was the first white man to ever enter a Shaolin temple as a disciple. He was called Qui-Lo (round-eyes in chinese (please forgive the spelling)), since he could not recall his first name. He did recall that his mother left him in China with his adopted grandfather, while she went back to America to find the father of Abel's half Chinese sister.

Qui-Lo studied the martial arts for years, and soon surpassed his teachers in skill and ability. Once he became a priest he set off to help others. During his wanderings he encountered one of the Emperor's brothers. The brother had a great hate for the Shaolin, and order the white interloper killed. Abel fought back, he defeated the troops and killed the brother. He was forced to flee China, and chose the states in the hopes of finding his mother or sister.

After about a year he learned that his mother had died of Comsumption. Now he wanders the land searching for a sister he has never met. Meanwhile there is a price on his head from the Chinese court.
