The Truth...

There is a great myth out there, that you can "earn" your way to Heaven. In other words, if you're basically a "good person," you're going to make it. Well, as disturbing as this may sound, that is not the truth. If this is news to you, don't worry because I used to believe that too. The Truth is that I am saved by God's grace and not by my works and you can be saved too.

Friends, we are all sinners - each and every one of us. We could never "earn" our way into Heaven. That would be impossible. The only perfect person to ever walk on the face of this earth was Jesus Christ. He is the only way to the Father. If you want to go to Heaven and have eternal life, you must accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. You must believe with all your heart that He died on the cross for our sins and then rose again so that we might have eternal life. He paid the price for all of us in full. Ask Jesus to come into your life, admit that you are a sinner and ask Him to begin to change your life. He will!

When you pass away, God isn't going to ask you if you were a Baptist, or a Methodist or any other denominaton - He's going to base your salvation - on how you knew His Son? What will you say? My prayer is that you will have known Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. You know, there are a lot of people out there who have gone to church their whole life who don't understand the truth about salvation and they have no personal relationship with Jesus. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian and it certainly doesn't make you "saved." Knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior does. People need to know this Truth.

Now, you might ask, "once I've accepted Christ am I'm done?"

Once you've accepted Christ lots of things happen. First of all, the Holy Spirit takes residence inside you and your name is written in the Book of Life which guarantees your salvation. This certainly doesn't mean you become perfect all of a sudden; however, the Holy Spirit will begin to convict you of the sin in your life. You won't stop sinning, but you will change and that change is progressive, in fact you will welcome that change inside you. You will become more aware of your sins and will with time sin less. Just remember that it's all about the direction of your life and not the perfection of your life.

You will also find that adversities won't disappear - bad things will continue to happen to good people, regardless of their beliefs. What you will find is the the strength to deal with life on all levels. Now you might think you can handle everything yourself, but deep down you and I know differently - don't we? As strong as you or I may think we are - we will find that there will always be things that happen in our life that are beyond our control, our understanding, and our abilities to deal with - but the good news is that Jesus can and wants very much to help us.

Isn't it great to know that Christ paid for our sins on our behalf? Isn't it great to know that we can be forgiven for all our sins, regardless of what that entails. Yes, God will wipe your record clean when you accept Jesus Christ into your life. Now that's what freedom is all about!

I've only scratched the surface here and I pray that this page has provided you with some assistance in seeking the truth. Please continue to seek that truth, and it will set you free.

Thank you for taking the time to find this page. My prayers are with each and every one of you - I pray that you will be a light in this sometimes very dark world. God Bless you and remember that Jesus loves you!
