In 1995, Sid changed his name to Alexander Siddig, because: "I got sick of people saying my name wrong." His friends still call him Sid. He began dating co-star Nana Visitor (Major Kira Nerys) in October, 1995, when he finally got up enough nerve to ask her out. They moved in together in the beginning of 1996 and announced that they were expecting a baby. Their son, Django, was born on September 16, 1996. Sid and Nana were, of course, married in England not long after.
