Installation of MS-DOS LHA

To install, get your computer in MS-DOS mode (in Windows 95, this is done by clicking the "Start" button and selecting "MS-DOS Prompt"). Under MS-DOS, cd to the directory where your msdos-lha.exe file is located (it may be called msdos_~1.exe) and run it. A bunch of files will automatically unpack. One of these will be LHA.EXE, which is the archiver itself.

Using LHA.EXE from MS-DOS to undo my music archives.

Under MS-DOS, you will type the following: lha x foo.lha "foo.lha" is, of course, the name of the archive which you wish to process. A bunch of files should extract, one of which will be the MED module itself. Since LHA.EXE truncates all filenames to 8.3 format, it is recommended that you rename the module to *.MED if you are using Octamedplayer for Windows 95, so that the module will be more easily recognised.
