PLOT   AND   CHARACHTERS

A chorus line in simple words is the story of an audition the auditionees weren't really expecting! The director asks them to spill their guts and they do!

The cast is first seen running through their moves to the opening peace "God, I Hope I Get It!" One by one the auditionees are singled out leaving only a select few left. They are asked to get their resumes then asked to introduce themselves.

Zach, the director surprises Mike and asks him how he started dancing. Mike explains how he would follow his sister to dance class and tried to copy her and outdo her in "I can do that!"

One by One he asks similar things to members of the cast. One of the most memorable charachters is Shiela the middle aged dancer, whose father was quite a "womanizer". Bebe, simpathizes with her and tells of how she was like (in my own words) "an ugly duckling". Maggie also understands this and tells of how she was born to save her parents' marriage but wound up making up an Indian chief father who would dance with her. All this happens in "At the Ballet"

Another memorable couple is Kristine and Al. Al and Kristine go together and complete each other. Without Al, Kristine gets confused and Al winds up finishing her sentences for her. Kristine is a wonderful dancer but she just can't sing as she proves in "Sing!"

Zach even has the nerve to ask about their love lifes and childhood!!! The dancers tell of their teenage years in "Hello 12, Hello 13, Hello Love"

Diana is the Puerto Rican dancer who was told by Mr. Carp her acting teacher that she's never make it as an actress. She was called nothing as she sings in "Nothing"

Val also had trouble getting started in the business. Why? Tits and Ass! She has none! She was also considered ugly. She decided to have something done as she tells in "Dance: 10, Looks: 3"

Then Zach gets a surprise...his ex-roomate and lover, Cassie, decides to have a talk with him. She left for California to become a star without telling Zach, but things didn't quite work out so now she is back! She convinces Zach to let her continue with the audition in "The Music and the Mirror"

Val also had trouble getting started in the business. Why? Tits and Ass! She has none! She was also considered ugly. She decided to have something done as she tells in "Dance: 10, Looks: 3"

After all the auditionees have been rehearsing and "strut their stuff" for Zach while the try their best at doing the choreographer, Larry's, choreography in "One"

They each tell what they might do if they weren't danceing and realize Broadway is slowly dieing. (How sad!!!!) in "What I did for Love"

Only eight of the marvelous dancers make it into the show including Val, Mike, Judy, Bebe, and Diana. At the end of the show the cast comes to dance to one more rendition of "One!"

Some memorable charachters are Paul: the ex-transvestite who tells of how he slowly realized he was gay and some of his turmoils, Connie: the small Chinese girl, Judy: from El Paso Texas,

PLEASE PLEASE if you have any other information on charachters please tell me!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!
