Tina's Hope
HOPE
- Hope springs eternal
- and pulls me ever on,
- even kicking and screaming,
- into the next day.
- Relentless hope, won't let me be.
- It beats upon my worn out heart
- and leads my mind astray,
- Life is pain, and never fair.
- This lesson's pounded home
- with every struggle and every love
- until I say enough.
- Let me rest, I don't care,
- I don't want to tilt at windmills anymore.
- Let me rest here and accept it all,
- let me just accept, at last.
- Then there is a glimmer of light
- at the end of the tunnel,
- a stirring of life, a surge of change,
- and that damned hope springs up again.
- Hope opens all the wounds
- and breaks down all the scars,
- heart pounding,
- the blood pours forth anew.
