Patty's Poem

There's a song in my heart
that lies silenced and still,
the dreams of the heart
not to be fulfilled.
So much laughter unspent,
silenced by pain.
The threads that I weave,
lie still once again.
So many deeds left undone,
smiles not shared
So much joy left to feel,
so many tears left unshed.
I fought with such valor,
with courage and faith,
but my heart now beats tired,
nothing left of my strength.
A weary prisoner of pain,
I now lay sown my pen,
in search of the sleep,
that never will end.
