THE BERING STRAIT MYTH
Arriving at the
University of Colorado, I was stunned to hear from
my students that some of my history colleagues were
beginning their courses on American History with
a mindless recitation of the Bering Strait theory
of the peopling of the Western Hemisphere.
Basically, they were simply repeating scholarly
folklore, since there is, to my knowledge, no
good source which articulates the theory in any
reasonable format. Indeed this "theory" has been
around for so long that people no longer feel
they have to explain or defend it; they can
merely refer to it. It is important here simply
to note that the immense knowledge and factual
proof of many scientific theories does not exist.
Many theories and facts recited by scholars and
scientists today are merely academic folklore
which professors heard in thier undergraduate days
and have not examined at all.

The following page is primarily dedicated to the deconconstructing of the infamous "Bering Strait Theory". This theory has been used countless times over and over again as to explain the arrival of so called Indians to the western hemisphere.
Helping me in this endeavor will be the great native American scholar Vine Deloria, Jr.
Vine is a professor of history, law, religious studies and political science at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He is also the author of the controversial bestseller "Custer Died for Your Sins".

By destroying the fabled Bering Strait theory, one leaves open other realms of possibilities as to the possible route that was taken to get to this part of the world by my ancestors. The key route which I chose to believe due to much research is the trans-atantic route or as 17th and 18th century scholars would put it "they came from the east". This is explained further in detail in other chapters of the site as told by past historians basd on the stories they were told by tribal chiefs and elders. This would further advance the Hebraical ancestry of Native Americans instead of the "Asian/Bering Strait" madness we have been taught. But first lets get to back to letting Mr. Deloria tell the real story behind this Bering Strait. We will primarily be using exerpts from his book entitled "Red Earth, White Lies".
